The advantage of 1st person view is that you can already see the exit of the corner which gives you time to react early if there is another corner, like in happo there are consecutive corners. While the advantage of 3rd person view is that you can see the rear end of the car and you can see if the rear is about to hit the guardrail. But these advantages becomes very minimal once you've mastered the course. oh and yeah in 1st person view you can't see the road if you're bumper to bumper with the car in front of you. No other reason. I find 1st person to simply be more speed-oriented. If I want to see my car, ill watch the replay which is far more enjoyable imo ~.~ |

Been like that since v1. I do think 1st person view players may have a little advantage but for me I just play with what I like. |

Just saw some Wagan players trying to play ID5 using the 3rd person view at West Mall and they died horibbly. There is no point to vote as there is nothing meaningful to derive from this poll. |

IDW Expert Member Group: Members Posts: 123 Member No.: 3,610 Joined: Oct 9th 2004 Location: Update Profile | Personally, I use the 3rd person view in every racing game EXCEPT for IDAS. With IDAS (at least versions 1-3) I preferred 1st person view for precision and better view of a turn's exit. Since the roads are narrow in the game and every km/h counts, this was important to me. In every other racing game I've played (WMMT, NFS, MK, XG, GT) I'd prefer 3rd person because exact speed and precision took a backseat to blocking and overall view. |

Downhill Specialist Group: Advanced Members Posts: 523 Member No.: 29,289 Joined: Apr 14th 2008 Location: Philippines | Yesterday when I played IDAS4, I've switched my view to 1st person since I've noticed that the 3rd person is quite hard. And because of it, I was able to beat my personal best times. So I'd say the 1st Person view is better when playing IDAS. |

I can judge better with the 1st person view too. And anyway, you just revived a few months old thread. | ||
