I am from Gold Coast, Australia and have been collecting Initial D DVDs which happen to be Tokyopop versions as I didnt know any better. At the moment I have the following Tokyopop Initial D DVDs in my collection (Tokyopop Versions Only) Initial D Volume 1: Akina's Downhill Specialist Initial D Volume 2: Challenge: Red Suns Initial D Volume 3: Challenge: Night Kids Initial D Volume 4: Myogi's Downhill Technician Initial D Volume 5: Duct Tape Death Match Initial D Volume 6: Asphalt Angels Initial D Volume 7: The End Of Summer Initial D Volume 8: Battles in the Rain Initial D Volume 9: Akina's Superstar Challenge Initial D Volume 11: Blow-out I am still on the look for the following which I might as well add to my collection now since I have almost all of them. Initial D Volume 10: Team Emperor Initial D Volume 12: Secret Weapon Initial D Volume 13: Battle of the Souls Initial D Volume 14: Extra Stage Now to my understanding, the last DVD in this collection is Initial D Volume 14: Extra Stage, which has Acts 40 & 41 on it. Now what I am trying to find out is this. Once I have all 14 Tokyopop Initial D DVD's will I have every episode ever made of Initial D? or is there some I am missing? If I am missing some, is Tokyopop releasing more Initial DVD's past Initial D Volume 14: Extra Stage? or will I have to get the Jap Box set and if so what one to get that has every episode ever made. Thanks in advance! DR.ZOIDBERG P.S If there are any Australians on these forums please PM |

Initial D Third Stage (Movie) Initial D Battle Stage (OVA) Initial D Fourth Stage (24 episodes) Those three are NOT licensed by Tokyopop, your only way to get them is by downloading the fansubbed ones, or purchasing the Japanese DVD's This post has been edited by Daiki_56-838 on Jun 1 2006, 05:46 PM |

IDW Goldmember Group: Advanced Members Posts: 1,189 Member No.: 10,643 Joined: Jul 27th 2005 Location: Update Profile | the real life is the Live Action, apart from the anime, basically scan around Ebay for those, usually Battle Stage comes with Third Stage as a Special Bonus disc, that's how I got mine. Just check around and you're bound to find something. Tomorrow, I'll get pictures of the ones I have up, right now, it's a little late (12am here) |

But just keep checking around, I have yet to take pictures of my collection. My First, Second and Third Stage are all on 16 DVDs, my Fourth Stage is burned to CD and tkaes up 12. |

Sigh. All the North American Initial D DVDs are dual language (English and Japanese - with English subs). First Stage, Second Stage, and Extra Stage are all Dual Language. Simply put, that torrent of video was done by idiots. Not to sound like a Narc, but buy the licensed (or the original Japanese) DVDs and avoid the issues. I've seen too many torrents of crap for Initial D floating around. Iketani Mako

Heroes get remembered...Legends never die. Group: Advanced Members Posts: 909 Member No.: 10,540 Joined: Jul 23rd 2005 Location: Hagersbush, MD | I just have a small question that ive been pondering about for a while now, since were on the topic and all. When will the american DVD's be released for 3rd, Battle and 4th stage? i heard that Funimation now has the rights to Initial D or something like that. Is that why its taking so long for them to be released? |

Well it has been mentioned several topics many times, so I don't see any reason for it not to be explained here as well: There are no plans for an american release of 3rd stage, batte stage, or 4th stage. Tokyopop got the rights to First, Second, and Extra stages. Funimation has the rights to re-release Initial D or something like that with Tokyopop. This is basically new packaging and it is doubtful that the actual content will be changed. (more info on the funimation-tokyopop stuff: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/pressrelease.php?id=1730 ) It will take time for them to be released here as long as nobody cares to license them.

That looks about right. If you're a fan of the live-action, you can add that too I suppose. Tokyopop covered first, second, and extra in their DVDs.
