If AE 86 retired (ex; got a heavy crash, or takumi realize that 86 isn't good enough for him in the future) , what should takumi drive?

except the Impreza (Bunta's Car) smile.gif

Takumi has enough money to buy another cars and custom it. grin2.gif

For me i think NISSAN S 15 Silvia.... (in gun metal colour) whistling.gif

He would probably want something that is similar to his old car right? High revs and lightweight. In that case, the S2000 comes to mind being that he has seen the car and the capabilities the car possesses.

I guess that Takumi would get an MX-5 or an S2000. It would probably suit Takumi's driving style well.

I would have said an FC or FD as well, but I don't know if they would fit Takumi's aggressive driving style and/or Takumi can afford to buy and maintain an RX-7.

I would say S2000 too. Takumi is used to driving a lightweight car with a high reving straight 4, so it would only be natural to pick a car that has those characteristics. Besides, the S2000's F22C engine makes the same horsepower and probably similar (or higher) torque right out of the factory as the 4A-GE AE101 in Takumi's AE86.

I'd Say the Altezza, because, 1. Its Toyota, 2. Its known as the predecessor of the AE86, 3. FR and 4. NA

He would buy an EG because it's cheap. He would be flying across Akina just like before with a low HP engine. Then once that engine blows, he would replace it and be unstoppable again. wink2.gif

The 86 is the base of the manga. Impossible for Takumi to change the car. When he breaks the engine he changes the engine not the car. And he says with project d he will win battle by battle with the 86. Takumi without the 86 is troublesome.

somehow i doubt he'd be driving a car that he'd already beaten, or someone else is driving, in the series. in fact, i couldnt even really picture Takumi driving anything but the AE86 until I watched fourth stage, which brings me to my answer:

the only real possible car that i can see Takumi driving is Bunta's Impreza -- reasons being that he's already driving it, and seeing his father owns it, it'd probably make it easy for him to get a hold of it if he needed to race. also, he knows the potential of the machine, comparing it to the AE86 on the tofu runs and so forth, so he understands that the Impreza is stronger in a lot of areas when compared to the AE86 (at least that's what i gathered).

something interesting to keep in mind it's that impreza and 86 are two cars fast in different place in a touge battle.

If Takumi were to get a new car, he might get a Roadster or an S2000.

Very interesting question, but the answer would be highly dependant on what Takumi eventually decides to do with himself.

If he decides to go professional, of course he would have his own race car as part of a team, but as a personal car i would imagine him driving something similar to the race car. Since his driving style seems to fit the rough and tumble of WRC or rally races, i highly suspect it'll be a Impreza WRX STI, probably the one with the new EJ25 engine, since he's familar with Subarus from his experience with Bunta's WRX

If however he decides that a racing career is not for him, and the AE86 dies one day (At the rate it's being abused on tofu runs and battles, it will), he'll get something that's lightweight and with a similar high-revving engine and HP output. The Honda S2000 fits very nicely into that niche. I draw this conclusion from the fact that if u anaylise the story, God's Arm and God's Foot are actually older, more mature versions of Takumi and Keisuke respectively.

Yeah, except for the big R34 GT-R.

If Takumi would drive anything, it'd probably be an MX5 or an S2K

If for some strange, inexplicable reason the 86 were to disappear... I'd go with S2000. That had to have made a huge impression on him in the God Foot race. I can't see him driving anything FWD (sorry EG-6), and don't think he'd go Lexus either (uhh... no).

Knowing Bunta, though... if the 86 were to get wrecked... he'd get another one. XD

Either that or he'd switch to the Impreza. I doubt that the 86 is going to get wrecked until the series is done...

One only needs to see how Takumi really messed up the 86 with his race with God Hand to realize the car will just end up getting fixed.

the AE86 is a cult classic. It'll always fill a niche in Japanese motorsports. If anything, he'd be hard pressed to find a car that handles just like his ol'faithful hachiroku. Probably the closest thing to it would indeed be a MX-5 or S2K. He could also go for one of them ol'school Soarers.

It'd be cool if he came up on an Elise, though.

The love between the 86 And Takumi is just like anyone, everyone falls in love with there first car, never wants to leave it......i bet Takumi would marry the 86 if he could.

the 86 is also a statement to the last RWD corolla ever produced, so, its like a tribute to one of the most classic cars in the world

I wouldn't consider an S2000 being any lightweight >_> not so sure bout that...
But It'd be cooler if he drove a Silvia with Skyline motor.

S2000... altezza... miata... i couldn't imagine takumi driving anything other than an FR car with an NA engine (ok rx-8 is also classified as such, but i can't imagine him handling that beast lol)... and i think he will stick with FR's until he finds a way to eliminate his 4WD complex once and for all since he hasn't really gotten it out of his mind as of now...

*takumi in an FD, evo, or GT-R?? it really doesn't sound right... O__o maybe an FC or any of the silvia's sounds better...*

Mini cooper. Or how about he get's chassis stiffening and a supercharged rotary engine in his 86? High revving, good throttle response, even smaller than his current engine.
