How many times can you use the license before it has to be renewed? I remember for IDAS2/3 you can use it 50 times, curious to know what the number is for IDAS8.

Also, do you need a D.net subscription to renew the license? For some reason my license does not have a number printed on it (maybe because all the machines are offline), not sure how I can get a D.net subscription without the license number.

Any info for this newbie would be much appreciated happy.gif

I believe you have unlimited use. I've probably done over 300 Races in the last month with no end in sight (yet)

Hope I'm right! You gotta wait for someone like Sonic to reply smile.gif

Can't get any D.Net related stuff since NA doesn't have a server :/
License renewal is at 150 ejects iirc, but on offline machines the number stops counting down at a certain point. You can check how much you have in the Factory menu -> Data/Records and on the left top there should be a ID Card picture with a refresh symbol on it and a number.

^What he said.

If you're on an offline machine and you'll never be visiting an online one, you can essentially consider your card to have unlimited use and never need to renew it.

That's great. I was worried I won't be able to renew my card since NA machines are always offline, but looks like Sega thought about that.

Thanks for the answers guys!

It works like this: All cards made start at 150 ejects and for ALL machines, each time you eject your card (Factory doesn't count, only ones where you actually played) that number will reduce by 1. However, if you're playing on an offline machine, the game will not charge you an "eject" when your "ejections left" number reaches down to 11.

If you stay at an offline machines forever, you'll stay at 11 ejects forever and never need to renew it.

However let's say that one day you decide to have a trip to Japan and play on a machine there, on an online machine the game will continue to charge you an eject when you eject your card. So if you go to Japan, your ejects will go down as normal and if you play until it reaches 0, you will need to renew it. But if you play at an offline machine while it is at or below 11 "ejections left", it won't go down.

This system is a good one because players living at an online place cannot get around the ejects left places either by cutting their connection or going to an offline arcade easily, not unless they don't want to use an online machine regularly anyways. The best they will get is 11 more ejects. Meanwhile players living in places where there is no online machines whatsoever will not be charged in practice.

My guess is that the renewal thing is to help arcades pay for the their All.Net subscription which is a monthly fee plus a smaller fee for each game anyone played while the machine is online.

So to sum up: Online machines will charge your card an eject all the time, offline machines also will charge your card unless it has 11 or below "ejects left".

This system has been in place since at least D5, and I don't think it has changed since to my knowledge.
