What's usually the fastest way to earn points (and ultimately full-tune)?

Story? In-Store Battle? Time Attack? Team? Online?

(Can't do online battles, and no one wants to do in-store team...)

You do save money by winning in-store battles and get bonus points for winning online battles, but the "fastest" offline way to farm points alone is Lake Akina Time Attack.

I don't think my local machine has it set up where winner of PvP battles continues free (I won, but had to swipe my token card to continue).

And for TA, do you always need to be beating personal bests or machine bests to get bonus points or is it the same number of points in TA regardless of time?

It's roughly the same number of points regardless of time. It's the best option on average I think. Story Mode may give you bonuses once in awhile while giving you slightly more per game but you have to actually win the races to get them.

In Time Attack, all you need to do is finish the course before the timer runs out which is really easy to do.

How about Tag play at Lake Akina? Each win should get you roughly 1000 points and it's fast to finish.

It's possible but he says he doesn't have anyone to in-store team so I'm guessing it's not an option.

You could actually use instore battle both side with one side with your card and another side just let it run freely. Make your side win and repeat this step for 80 rounds tada you'll be able to full tune a car in less than one day. Or ultimately you could use 21 x 75 dcoins = RM2 x 21 = RM42 to full tune your car from Spec 0 to Full Spec 5 in just 3 minutes.

I'm not sure he is from KL, Malaysia to be able to use the cheap DCoins option. The no online thing suggests to me that he is from US or Canada, unless he just means that he is not good enough to play online.

But TC, if that's wrong and you totally are from KL area in Malaysia, go to Midvalley and buy the D-Coins like SHINN says. It's fairly cheap especially compared to the old days.

Wait, how much is a 75 D-Coin purchase in Mid Valley? Isn't it RM10? O_O

It's been RM2 for 25/50/75 Dcoins for about a month or so (yes all three are the same, so choose the 75). Also RM2 for one month DNET. Midvalley's game is also RM2 now though the line still questionable for now. So really cheap.

Card is still RM18 though.

Yeah, now using them for TA ghost and blocking courses feels a lot cheaper.

Yeah, in that case, I suggest playing Time Attack if you're alone. You should get around 600 points per game as long as you finish.

You may get free continues by beating an in-store player but that's up to your arcade to set.
