I am surprised by the lack of good documentation or wiki on the game given how popular it was at the time of its release (At least in my area) so I am aiming to give this game a thorough wiki and run a ranking board that won't get lost in time. I usually go by the Project Chiba times when time-attacking but do to the fact that ID:SS doesn't generate passwords for time attacks and there are no photo/video media to verify any of these times as well. This is what I am aiming to fix. I have created a ranking leaderboard through the use of Google Drive's various tools: Rules document: goo.gl/zQveA0 Ranking spreadsheet: goo.gl/piYVSE Submission form: goo.gl/forms/0mFvnPg2Gq The goal here is not to say that Project Chiba or any other ranking board is invalid, but it is to create a ranking sheet of times that are undeniably legitimate. In this day and age, just about every person in the age group that has or still does play Initial D owns a smartphone which records at sufficient quality for recording PS2 videos. My expectations for this board are not to suddenly have a flood of times and to be very active. ID:SS has a small niche audience out there for players, but there are good players out there and I want them to shine through recording videos of their old replays or even actively compete today with the few that still play this game competitively. This is merely a side hobby of mine and I play once a week usually for about 4-5 hours at a time. So if you have a good replay to record and submit, I welcome you to submit to my board. If you know someone that used to be good and may still have replays saved for recording, reference them to this post! I have inserted the times I have so far, some of which need a lot of improvement, but they are there. I also have a Facebook group for discussion there as well: facebook.com/groups/1707202966164361/ |
