Are you excited for the next Need For Speed game? People at Speedhunters.net is working closely with Ghost to produce the new title! The game is going to be a reboot, and aims to be in-depth customization and genuine car culture all set within a deep, immersive narrative. It seems that imports will be in the game!

Please express your opinions on this. Do you think this game will be a hit? Or will EA mess up the game?

Honestly, all I need to know now is that there is some sort of rotary in the game. That 964 (I'm almost sure anyway) is already a huge tease.

Meh, I prefer the rural environments from the older NFS titles opposed to the city environments.

I haven't been into NFS since the god-awful ProStreet, but maybe I'll give this a chance.

I actually enjoyed the heck out of the 2010 Hot Pursuit. That was the last NFS game I really paid any mind to.

Great. They allowed people to rice. Can't wait to go into an Online lobby full of ricers with ridiculously ugly and huge wings plus loud body kits together with damn neons and some tribal mark with unknown chinese characters painted on their car. Just like GTA Online random lobbies, people with supercars and ugly 22 inch rims.

But I will definitely be buying the game, even if the only car that have bodykits is the BRZ. Because rocket bunny.

The drift camera is pretty bad though, it is like taking inspiration from Midnight Club Los Angeles, but they overdone it. Good thing they gave an option to turn it off.

The gameplay demo at E3 is just garbage though. The driver purposely goes onto the oncoming lane, and pretends to dodge it at the last second to start his manji. Best "pretending to play the game during the demo" award goes to...

The camera angles on the drfit looks awkward, I hope theres an option to tun it off. I also hope this game gots similiar design n levels as carbon (by that I mean canyon/drift races and ost genres based on the car you're driving, one can dream).

Yep, as I mentioned earlier, there will be an option to change the camera angle. The one used in the trailer is called "Action camera" and according to a few youtubers that have already played, there are other options like close chase, far, and bumper.

Similar to Carbon, there is no day and night cycle, more like day and dawn, as time does not progress further after dusk.

There are canyons present in the game, but it is uncertain it will be part of open world map or separate.

Who cares about the OST when all I am gonna do is listen to my own N I G H T C O R E smile.gif

What about crusing down the highway in a imprezza listening to gary nubeman or Serge/GoldFrap's ride a white horse? Or driving in a lambo listening to hard drivers? Or listening to CellDweller in a mustang? blink.gif

This game is now released for next-gen consoles. I will have to wait till it drops on the PC.

But woah, they really got the customization down correct.

I mean, touge, drift trains, Levin, Honda Civic.
What else do we need?
Apparently you can also remove stock spoilers and put stickers all over your car (including windows) , if you wanna go for that Spaz Evo look biggrin.gif

Yeah, I watched some videos online and it looks ridiculously fun. Reminds me of the good old days of Underground 2 and Most Wanted. Definitely waiting on PC release, though considering 'next-gen' consoles are really just PCs EA is doing that delay on purpose to push console software sales. Bastards.

I installed it on XBOne last night, but I also installed FO4 on PC this AM, soooo...

Yeah, probably not going to log a ton of time into this for a bit.

The game is fun, but there are some aspects that I dislike. Mainly the lack of manual transmission and the always online requirement. I have Internet, I just think it's stupid to make a game always online when there's not enough multiplayer features to justify it.

>mainly the lack of manual transmission

I'm sorry, you what?

*does five minutes of research on Google*

"[Critics] criticized it for...rubber-banding AI, poor handling, the inability to pause the game, no cockpit view and no manual transmission..."

Are you fucking kidding me? I mean, no cockpit view yeah, okay, we're going back to the good old days of Most Wanted and Carbon and Underground and all that and ignoring the Shift series entirely, that's fine, I'm honestly okay with that since it's an arcade racer and not trying to be a sim. 'Poor' handling is subjective, since as long as it's better than ProStreet then it can't really be that bad (LOL). Rubber-banding AI is either an artifact of the internet connection (if the AI are server-based) or just a bit of boost from the good old IDASv3 days. Not pausing, that's what you get from an always-online game.

But no manual transmission?

Forget that. Unless they announce the ability to customize controls and shift gears manually then I'm not blowing $70 on it. $30, maybe, but not $70. mad.gif

The AI isn't that bad. At least not yet for me. They slingshot past you during the middle of the race, but they usually slow down soon after or towards the end of the race. I thought the AI had a set time they finish in, but they don't, they really do just fly past you and slow down at random times. Luckily it's not at crucial moments.

Also, Walmart is going to have the game for $25 on Black Friday online and in store.
