QUOTE (tainted @ Dec 23 2002, 10:25 AM)
those are what sucks the most about rotaries... breaks down more often while not much mechanics know how to fix them...
so i'm thinking of learning the schematics for a rotary so i could fix it myself in case it gets broken [when i get an FD biggrin.gif ]

the pros that i know of have already been mentioned... i think wink2.gif

As someone that drives a 1985 RX-7 daily(well just summers now), a Rotary engine does NOT break down more than a piston engine.

I'm currently ticking along at about 130,000miles. I am the 2nd owner of the car and no major engine work has been done. Anything that has been done was done by me. You are very right about mechanics not knowing how to fix them, I wouldnt even let a Mazda Mechanic touch my car, so I do everything. All the Rotary Mazda guys all moved on to there own private shops.

Only dificulties I've had with the car were, gas tank rusted from inside out, replaced.
Coolant passages that run through the intake manifold started leaking, 6 bolts to remove intake, replace gasket and 2 rubber o-rings. Cost about, about $25 because mazdatrix.com has a minimum $25 credit card purchase order so I bought some other rotary paraphanalia.

Just noticed you mentioned the FD, ok those do break down often, or at least the early ones did. After they stopped importing them, Mazda was able to get them to be reliable.

So......... cool messageboard, I love Initial D, and scarely enough I made up the name SunRedRX7 before even seeing it, as SunRed was my abreviation for Sun Rise Red, the color of my car.

On first stage there's a scene where Kouichirou Iketani was at home laying in bed then all of a sudden a person's voice said "Kouichirou you have a phone call." then he said "if its Kenji tell him I'm not home." then the person's voice said "its a girl Mako Satou." So who's voice is that in the background of Kouichirou Iketani's? his mother or his grandmother

Say you a couple months ago I said this quote
QUOTE
Itsuki Takeuchi & Kouichirou Iketani were working at the gas station then both street racers don't need a girlfriend

There's a scene where Takumi Fujiwara & his friends (Itsuki Takeuchi, Kouichirou Iketani & Kenji) were hanging around near the vending machine with Impact Blue (Mako Satou & Sayuki) for a little rest period. Then all of a sudden Itsuki Takeuchi said to Kouichirou Iketani "road racers don't need a girlfriend right?" I have 3 questions to ask

1. Why did Itsuki Takeuchi say that for?

2. Do you think he said it too bluntly?

3. Personally I think Itsuki Takeuchi should keep his mouth shut What do you think?

1. That what he tells him self so he doesn't get feel like a loser.
2. Yeah, but thats the way he is.
3. Just needs to think before he speaks.

i think itsuki's partially to blame why iketani's not with mako right now... the friggin' dork interupts a conversation with something so stupid... and then there's always iketani's stupidity of not meeting mako by that board sign... sheesh... guys those days need to know when to open or shut their mouth... hehe

I think if itsuki keeps up that atitude then he's gonna turn gay.

Even worse...he'll find the guy next to him attractive.

Compared to every other male character in the series, Itsuki is actually a bit ahead. Takumi only has Mogi, Iketani has Mako (well, for a short while), Itsuki has dated Mogi's friend (bombed) and had a little something with Kasumi (she only wanted him as a friend). Takeshi has a crush on Sayuki (but she doesn't know it and wouldn't likely fall for him), and the rest fall into the 'lonely driver' class.
