Does it really make that much of a difference? When he said "dualshock" I understood completely what he meant, as would just about everyone with a shred of common sense. Also, referring to the dualshock 3 controller as simply "Dualshock" is still acceptable, seeing as a Dualshock 3 is still a member of the Dualshock line.

And btw, calling it Sixaxis Dualshock isn't completely accurate either. Sixaxis is the original PS3 controller. Dualshock 3 is a different controller that features Sixaxis technology.

Now to get back on topic. Has anyone checked the internet ranking lately? Any new world records?

I think I might start playing again tomorrow. If I do, I'm mainly going to work on FTing my FD. I think I'm going to try to take all the US FD model records. Let's see how that goes. I already had most of the Sil80 world model records. Haha.

Ya I played the other day and I can't even remember correct exit speeds. I have to sit around and watch replies again.

The wet records are ridiculously easy... Or at least they were ridiculously easy back when I was still playing. I broke the world record on Akagi DH W with a half tuned NA6CE.

How do you like flick in and then flick out of a turn really fast with a controller or can it only be done with a steering wheel?

Well I just started playing again now that i got a shiny new driving force pro. We should pick a course every week and post our times. Anyone want to start?

I don't really feel like playing atm... But on the weekend I might give Akagi another go. I'd rather specialize on that course than try to learn the others.

I still have a couple of unposted times on other courses though.

hey guys I haven't played this in awhile now its been 3 and a half months snice i played this. I can't seem to break out of 3'10"286. Its Akina down hill, car AE86 Its been very frustrating for me so I've quit the game. I'll add a replay of the TA later once i get a youtube account. can anyone give me some tips on Akina once u've seen my video?

I got 03'12'000 on Akina with a NA FT AE86 with the same exterior parts on Takumi AE86.

NA = naturally aspirated.

Ya the TRD Group A 20v Silvertop AE101 4A-GEU which was use only in the Group A series and was illegal to the public. The engine produces 250hp(240hp for Takumi) at 11,000rpm. The engine is really expensive and rare

Yup, NA is pretty much Non Turbo engine

I just got 3'05"490 on Akina's Downhill. I know I can still go faster around the consecutive hairpins though... But still, almost 2 whole seconds off my old record!

I'm really starting to love this Civic.

Somehow I feel way out of my league here LOL, back to the downhill to practice. My best on akina downhill is like 3:21.xxx just got the game a few weeks ago.

The best advice I can give is to watch people's videos on youtube and just study their speeds for corners. Don't start with the really insanely fast TA videos, just some that are a few seconds faster than yours, and then work your way closer to the fast ones. That's what worked for me, at least. If you want me to upload one of my replays on any course, I can do that.

Thanks, I'll have to check some of those videos out. Pretty sure I just broke my steering wheel, an 80$ gamestop wheel. So I will prolly be on the market for something better. I think that's half my problem.

Yeah, I heard a lot of bad things about those Gamestop brand wheels. I thought about buying one, but I'm glad I decided not to. I picked up a used Logitech Driving Force GT on Amazon for about $80, I think. I'm not sure how comfortable you are buying used though... but it seems like any wheels that are new these days are about a few hundred dollars. : \

It really wasn't that bad new, though it was sloppy sloppy sloppy for GT5 it had more of an arcade feel to it to begin with. I may look into a used one, for I spend alot of my funny money on my RC Drift and crawling addictions. Lol now that I have derailed this thread to oblivion with my first few posts I'll stop now lol.I'll be on tonight if your up for some passes.

Didn't want to double post but I ditched the wheel and cranked out a 2:55.xxx on the akina dh, with the controller. eff that wheel it's poop. Lol
