I couldn't get past Bunta level 2 in myogi because I can't seem to block him for long periods of time....

I couldn't get past Bunta level 10 in Usui for same reason- I suck at blocking him once I've passed him!!!

Any tips?

I see some people block at the start on youtube just now, but I have no idea how to do that since his car accelerates faster than my 85?

How do you block bunta right from the start?

How many times have you beaten the game?

Once, then i went on to Bunta Challenges and basically lost my points till like 40k left now : D (well also bought wheels, several carbon hoods and two spoilers... dunno if/how they help though)

Wut, does my car get more power if I defeat LotS a second time?

Angle the wheel a little more than 90 degrees towards Bunta from the start and have the throttle on full. When you shift to 2nd gear do it just a little earlier than normal.

When he's on your tail, maintain your car appropriately cuz he will push you. And I'm guessing an 85 will be very unstable with him pushing you.

And if you're new to the game I suggest you don't use Bunta to tune your car. Beat the game 3 times total and keep going until you've gone past 990k. Your car will be at it's physical limits then, and the rest will be up to your skill.

I had no idea I needed 990k to reach my car's limit. I beat 9 star Bunta with my 240k LotS points (then it dropped to 40k challenging Bunta). My car still has room for improvement!? I have hope now!

lol looks like I'll have to beat the game 4 times though.

Why 990k? No more maintenence after that?

No more maintenance after 990k, just buying parts.

With practice and experience, you can fully tune cars without having to beat the game using Bunta only. XD

Dude, you really screwed yourself over when you bought all those parts.
Its going to take you a long time to Full Tune now..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure those spoilers/hoods ect don't make your car faster or anything.

^ They might some how but I don't know. It's up to you to decide if the car feels different than before, but that's gonna be hard to judge since you've set yourself back in points so much.

That's why it's better to full tune the car first then buy parts, because once you hit 990k, the car is at it's limit and buying parts won't set it back anymore.

Getting there... but I still can't block all opponents at start. I can for like only 40% of them. Is Bunta always blockable at the start?

My 85 won't go over 200 on Myogi! GRRR! Somehow I think my tuning is wrong.

There isn't a way to take off the spoiler is there?

no Bunta is not always blockable at the start, and also usually the higher the Bunta level the faster the startup. From what I can remember you can no longer block Bunta at Iro level 7 or higher, the other courses I don't remember anymore.

There are also shift points for each car in ID3. I know there's a list somewhere here, I forgot already.

Yes there is no way to take off the spoiler unless you change your car's option when you renew your card, the only thing you can do is to change it to a different spoiler.

The only places where you won't be able to block Bunta from the start are Iro and Happo... at upper level stars of course.

No, your tuning is just right. It's just that 85 sucks on Myogi.

Yeah the 85 Is pretty much the Worst car on Myogi.
That and the MR2.

lol My 85 reached 201 at like 700k of tuning WITH two spoilers (I don't get why they allowed this)

It's at like 910k now, almost fully tuned. I beat 10 star Bunta on Myogi and Usui.... but I'm stuck at 4 star Akagi... I usually can't below 2:34 time attack on Akagi... I can't block him at the start for some reason... if I could it'd solve a lot of problems =/

Akagi Bunta is tough to block off the line. Work on TAing Akagi and come back to it later. Maybe try Akina? He's easier to block at Akina plus the 85 is pretty good there.

It's strange... sometimes I can get ahead of Bunta off the start (20% of the time) on Akagi, but he miraculously manages to get past me again a few seconds later no matter how much I try to block him... it's as if he's travelling 20 km/h faster than me... it's so hard. 2:32 is my best time on Akagi so far. It misses Level 4 Bunta by 10 meters lol

I managed to beat 16 star Bunta on Myogi (2:54.852)and 15 star Usui (2:51.8)though. Myogi was hard, it got to the point where my 85 was blocking him 99.4% of the race. Usui was a bit easier, although still very hard as I still needed Bunta ramming me 20% of the race and past the finish line.

lol I wonder how long it will take me to take down Akagi... I may have to give up on it and go on to Akina like you said. Akagi, Iro, Happo = serious problems for the 85...

my 1 and only car is ER34, as you said, sucks at bunta after 11th

the only tracks i can't win 13-15 stars bunta are akagi and iro
i just wanna know how to beat it...extremely hard to block.....even my times on akagi was 2.23

to let you all know further about my ER34
It is now battle level 34, 76 consecutive wins, with percentage of 91.2%
race level, definitely 30
i had my story mode up to 5/7 stars rating
my points clearly is 5.18m, aiming 5.2m and beyond

ER34 is a good car overall in all tracks (wet, dry, snow)
i managed to control it very well in wet, even in tsuchisaka wet(both IB/OB), snow, 2.26 for me, no problem, dry......admit it...no one wins me in dry.....(except shomaru when vs. 6 gears -consider cheating).
I like to play a game which is fair, don't like play tracks which is best for that car like RX8 in shomaru, ER34 in usui, GC8V/AE86T in akina

my favorite tracks are Iro (both), akina, akagi and tsuchi
my most hate track, 1 and only myogi
most hate PK track, Shomaru(only if vs. 6 gears cars)

anyway, forget those what i said....how the heck knowing bunta lines??? is there any website shows the lines bunta drives???

^ Uhm... ER34 is NOT the best for Usui. (Wet or Dry, either direction)

And isn't the ER34 the worst car for snow DH? And I'm pretty sure you didn't run 2'26 on Snow...

acually, depends on which set you're using....nope...it's good at snow, and depends on your skills on controlling it...i got no problem using ER34 in 15 stars bunta(akina-snow)
it's exactly like people using RX8 in snow, when they dunno how 2 use, sure they say is not good at snow....but if they knew.....is a good car for snow...
i dun believe ER34 had any weakness, including tsuchisaka wet....i play well with it...obviously, ER34 is my only car i have now...like my price possession....
haha...
and as for usui, i kinda like fish people using ER34 in usui if they play those tracks with their advantages......
btw.....even now got 5.2m points, still feel ER34 is very slow compare to E4 and buntamobile
but....as for battle, damn nice(coz the big butt)
oh...just to say something....ER34 is not a good car for TA, only battles, either with CPU or with people....pretty bad startup, compare E4 (if same level)
1 thing i like to say about ER34 in usui....as i said...is not a good TA car, even usui, cause is big, heavy and grippy....yet, i think using RB24DETT (correct me if wrong) compare to R32/R34 using RB26DETT....sure slower than these cars, but the handling is good, and very hard for understeering...that's what i like about this car....

option A - Grippy
option B - drifty
option C - don't know(some say the worst)
option N - never try it either.....

i wonder where is xeoreg....he never replies my PM....he's the 1 who call me start using this car...

^ Well ok, if you say so.... But the ER34 is the 2nd worst car on Snow DH based on the net rankings. Only car that's slower is the S14Q.

I found myself having to Block Bunta after 7 stars on Iro. Either this is a natural thing, Or if you move to block him bumper to bumper, your car will start slipping around.

Or is that just on FR's?

acually, i dun follow him by bumper to bumper....i overtake him in those jumps
but my maximum is 11 stars......ER34 is quite hard to control in iro due to it's size..

You can't block Bunta off the line after 7 stars. His start up is too fast. You have to pass him somewhere on the course, usually at the jumps.
