nice find rit, thanks!
Posted by: Tomo Jul 17 2008, 10:59 PM
f*ckin sweet, im gonna ditch all my cars regardless of how bad the rx8 is and just use that lol
Posted by: Paulabusa Jul 17 2008, 11:17 PM
how to update? can it be done using my asia psn id?
Posted by: Silfa Jul 17 2008, 11:23 PM
you need a Japanese account I believe to access to DLC content. i think thats why some people had to start over because they didnt make a Japanese PSN to start their IDE characters.
Posted by: Devil Kitami Jul 17 2008, 11:39 PM
It has nothing to do with seperate accounts. All files are avilable to all user accounts on the PS3. I have a USA/Jap/HK account and have bought PS1 games off the Japanese PSN store and can play them on the USA account etc.
A DLC addon has to be installed, and just like demos, they are available to all accounts once downloaded.
So this stuff goes up on the 24th? I hope it's free or I have to order another network ticket from NCS.
Posted by: Paulabusa Jul 17 2008, 11:52 PM
how do youinstall the DLC add on?
Posted by: Devil Kitami Jul 17 2008, 11:54 PM
the same way you install a demo. it's not up yet anyway.
you'll download it from the japanese PSN store, then it will be in your game section in the XMB called initial d addon or something, then you install it from any account. you'll need a JPN account to download it though, if it's not free you'll need to buy a network ticket for the japanese PSN store. you can buy those online easily.
plus i have a feeling these cars are already on the disc and this is like an unlock key. because the bonus song is already on the disc....
still, i hope they make new tracks, i will buy them for sure.
Posted by: Silfa Jul 18 2008, 12:22 AM
would be funny if we could get wangan or C1 just kidding lol
Posted by: Paulabusa Jul 18 2008, 12:24 AM
so where do i go to register a jpn account. i went to the playstation japan webby but all in jap... i cant understand.....
Posted by: BOZZ Jul 18 2008, 05:43 AM
I take it the DLC isn't free? How much is it?
Posted by: RIT_ninja Jul 18 2008, 05:50 AM
| its free actually...
do a little google translation, yup its free
Posted by: BOZZ Jul 18 2008, 06:34 AM
Awesome... So, just to be sure, a JPN PSN is needed, correct?
Posted by: MzdaspD Jul 18 2008, 07:42 AM
| Sweet! I want my RX-8!!
So we have to make a Japanese PSN? damn. So does that mean we have to play on the japanse psn afterwards as well?
Posted by: Devil Kitami Jul 18 2008, 09:05 AM
Maybe not. It depends if they put the DLC on the PSN store, or you download it within the Garage in network mode.
If it's just an unlock key you download in the game itself, you won't need any account, since if sega was IP screening we all wouldnt be playing this online anyway. IDES doesn't know what PSN account your using, it's just using the internet connection when you're logged in thru the PS3. If sega was gonna lock us out they would just IP screen, but if you can get online with the game this won't matter.
I'm thinking they will use the ingame download option, since I'm sure these new cars are already on the disc. Making a japanese PSN account is easy if it does come to that for people though.
Posted by: AznTakumi Jul 18 2008, 01:07 PM
You probably have to pay for it..>>
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 18 2008, 03:13 PM
Translation: On 7/24, new car model data will be distributed free of charge through the Playstation Store.
Posted by: Devil Kitami Jul 18 2008, 04:13 PM
If they are releasing it through the PSN store, then I wonder what the download page is for in your network garage.
So in other words, if you don't have a japanese PSN account, time to make one.
Posted by: Poznanman Jul 18 2008, 04:22 PM
For anyone that doesn't know how to make a Japanese account, I found this step-by-step guide. Check the link http://www.gtplanet.net/guides/index.php/Create_a_Japanese_PS3_Account.
Posted by: rockman227 Jul 18 2008, 08:36 PM
| yes will be free it is said in the web page a fishy translation of babelfish:
7/24 (the wood) from, at PLAYSTATION@Store the additional model data is transmitted free. * Recording model TOYOTA - ALTEZZA RS200 Z EDITION [SXE10] MAZDA - RX-8 Type S [SE3P] MAZDA - EUNOS ROADSTER [NA6CE] When this commodity is downloaded, at the time of model selection additional model is reflected. * In order to download this commodity, network connection is necessary
Posted by: Takeshi Nakazato Jul 18 2008, 08:38 PM
lol tomo will have his Rx-8
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 19 2008, 03:40 AM
That is a "Receive Downloaded Content" button, not a "Download Content" button.
Posted by: rockman227 Jul 20 2008, 05:42 PM
so how you are going to download this in the game or in the psn, will be good to know
Posted by: Tessou Jul 20 2008, 05:48 PM
The text on the IDES official page says that it will be released free of charge through the Playstation Store. It was already translated and posted earlier.
Posted by: rockman227 Jul 20 2008, 05:57 PM
sorry, myself trans lated and didn´t notice
Posted by: initial_drifter Jul 21 2008, 07:10 PM
only add 3 cars.i hope they update more than this
Posted by: Silfa Jul 21 2008, 10:11 PM
well the 3 cars were released in the international version and in Japan's 1.5 update. so i doubt there will be more cars until hopefully they release initial d 5th stage. according to the manga its pretty interesting so far.
Posted by: Paulabusa Jul 21 2008, 10:51 PM
so the update will be onli available from 24/07?
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 21 2008, 10:53 PM
Correct. Starting on July 24th in Japan.
Posted by: TyPe-ZeRo Jul 22 2008, 12:27 AM
I hope this isn't true. If it's only going to have a one time release of new additional content of available vehicles, then Sega is lazy
Posted by: LegendaryGnome Jul 23 2008, 02:24 AM
so if its out on the 24th in Japan, shouldn't it be out on the 23rd sometime in the US?
Posted by: BDDEE@ Jul 23 2008, 03:13 AM
well the 24th in japan is only like 5-6 hours from now because there only like 2-3 hours behind my country i think?
Posted by: RIT_ninja Jul 23 2008, 06:52 AM
| Japan's about 1 hour a head of where I live, Taiwan
so it should be out by...wow, 10 minutes
Posted by: BDDEE@ Jul 23 2008, 06:56 AM
| so taiwan is a 2 hours behind aus? its 12:55pm now rofl
5 minutes then xD
Posted by: Tomo Jul 23 2008, 07:16 AM
nothing so far -__- I dont expect anything until I have to leave for work
Posted by: sannin Jul 23 2008, 07:31 AM
lol i just came back from work. im gonna go check right now and until i fall asleep.
been a little over 3 hours since i made the post above ... still no DLC
Posted by: Tessou Jul 23 2008, 11:39 AM
I'll confirm the above sadness. 3:30EST and still there's nothing but those 5 worthless comics on the page...
Posted by: sannin Jul 23 2008, 11:48 AM
seriously.... hahahaha i go to that manga add-on even though i know it's just manga. i keep hoping somehow it will magically change into the 3 cars. AAHHHHHHHH
Posted by: BOZZ Jul 23 2008, 12:23 PM
Nothing new on the DLC front? Just the new 3 cars and the mangaz?
Posted by: Tessou Jul 23 2008, 12:39 PM
It's still just the comics in the PSN store right now. The cars aren't available yet.
Posted by: Poznanman Jul 23 2008, 01:13 PM
A question about the manga's for yah. How long is each manga? Is it the the full length of what you can buy in paperback form? Sorry for maybe dumb questions, but I've only watched the anime, never read the manga.
Posted by: Tessou Jul 23 2008, 01:31 PM
I have no idea how long the downloadable comics are for IDES, but the descriptions say that they contain certain battles, so I don't think they're that long.
Posted by: rockman227 Jul 23 2008, 01:41 PM
| in this moment is 6:40 in japan and no dlc confirmed
Posted by: Tomo Jul 23 2008, 03:23 PM
wowwww... i really was hoping this would be up and running for when I got home.
Posted by: Tessou Jul 23 2008, 03:28 PM
Nah, it's still early morning in Japan. I'd say check for an update in a few more hours (noon, their time).
Posted by: Tomo Jul 23 2008, 03:32 PM
I know I know I'm just impatient and wnt my car lol
Posted by: RIT_ninja Jul 23 2008, 04:11 PM
| gotta go to class...
sigh...first thing in the morning, I was grabbing my PS3 controller next to my bed...
Posted by: Phantom_R32 Jul 23 2008, 04:56 PM
| I'm not expecting much..
Remember their "demo" they were suppose to release and it turned out to be a video.. Watch the DLC not happen or it might happen and be pictures and specs of the cars lol. >_>
Posted by: Tomo Jul 23 2008, 05:20 PM
don't say that!!! come into the IRC chat mang its been a while
Posted by: Tessou Jul 23 2008, 05:34 PM
10:30AM Japan time, still no DLC available in the store.
Posted by: rockman227 Jul 23 2008, 05:56 PM
10:56 japan time still no DLC
Posted by: LegendaryGnome Jul 23 2008, 07:20 PM
well its 8:20PM PST and it seems that there is 1 more option that mentions the cars but i cant understand anything.
Posted by: Tomo Jul 23 2008, 07:24 PM
| yeah and it wont let me download anything
Posted by: LegendaryGnome Jul 23 2008, 07:26 PM
yea same here. does anybody know what the yellow writing is talking about? it says something about the XMB and Network.
Posted by: Tomo Jul 23 2008, 07:32 PM
wait what if you have to connect to the network in game to process it?
Posted by: maw070583 Jul 23 2008, 07:33 PM
I figured it out guys. First, select the new add-on item in the store so that it has the little red bag icon, then you need to create an initial d save file under your japanese account username, then log into the online mode & once you agree to the online stuff you will get a small download, after that exit the game and login to your us account and launch the game as normal (the new cars are in the garage for selection at this point). This worked for me, and I hope you can get it to work for all you guys as well.
Posted by: turbo_b00st Jul 23 2008, 07:36 PM
what do you mean by creating a initial d save file under the jpn account name?
sry i dont understand that part...
Posted by: Tomo Jul 23 2008, 07:37 PM
you dont need to do any of that. after you get the red bag, load the game like normal, then log into the network section. It will auto update you and you're all set.
Posted by: LegendaryGnome Jul 23 2008, 07:39 PM
yea just do what Tomo Said.
Posted by: maw070583 Jul 23 2008, 07:42 PM
yeah, that's what I meant; through your other profile name, sorry for any confusion
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 23 2008, 07:46 PM
| Yeah, wow you guys. One of you contacted me over AIM like BAWWW DLC DOESN'T WORK BAWWW and what do you know, first try and it works. Of course it helped being able to read the Japanese description of the item in the PSN Store.
Once the game is updated and you enter the "New Car" screen, you'll be greeted with:
And then, of course, the new cars.
Posted by: initial_drifter Jul 23 2008, 07:48 PM
need japanese psn.*sigh* it should like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. When connected to PSN and we start the game,it will auto detect update.we choose yes and it will update from their server
Posted by: Möbius Jul 23 2008, 07:48 PM
| Nomake saves the day!
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 23 2008, 07:49 PM
It's not as much an update as it is adding three new cars to the game. It's like adding characters to Disgaea 3 or adding maps to Turok. It's not an update or a patch as much as it is additional bonus content.
So it makes sense. Remember: IDES was made for the Japanese market! Not you!
Posted by: DK_2 Jul 23 2008, 07:50 PM
im glad to say i'm the BAKA that asked Nomake. sorry for bugging ya.
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 23 2008, 07:55 PM
| I'll make an addition to the FAQ to cover this. Maw and Tomo covered it, though.
1.) Log into Japanese PSN
2.) Add the DLC to your cart
3.) It will automatically be added to IDES. You can check it by going to PSN->Account Management->Cart->Services.
4.) Load IDES in whatever PSN you use to play IDES normally.
5.) When you first go into Network mode, you'll be asked if you want to apply the patch. Say yes, obviously. It will automatically be applied.
6.) The next time you add a car to your garage or create a new character, you will have the three new cars available.
Posted by: Silfa Jul 23 2008, 08:14 PM
well this blows. i just lost my data and i get to start all over again.
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 23 2008, 08:26 PM
What the heck did you do!?!?
Posted by: Silfa Jul 23 2008, 08:28 PM
I got it from the store, then I started the game and it showed some install thing and saved. and i lost my data. dammit what a waste of time.
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 23 2008, 08:33 PM
Odd. Are you sure you don't have a setup like the one I had? For me:
-Logged into Japanese PSN
-Got DLC from store
-Booted IDES in Japanese PSN
-Created new character (Japanese PSN hadn't played IDES)
-Applied patch, confirmed it working
-Quit game, logged out of Japanese PSN
-Logged into USA PSN
-Loaded existing character data and confirmed new cars available
The PSNs don't share IDES character data. Maybe you forgot to log back into your normal PSN?
Posted by: Silfa Jul 23 2008, 08:36 PM
i never used my us psn for this game. only my japanese one. whatever, ill just start all over for a 3rd time. damm and i was only "200 from hitting 2'44 on iro.
Posted by: initial_drifter Jul 23 2008, 08:41 PM

Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 23 2008, 09:39 PM
Posted by: ride686 Jul 23 2008, 09:47 PM
I just got it all working thanks for the help thread.
Posted by: Fast Jul 23 2008, 09:59 PM
just wondering, how long does this update take?
Posted by: LegendaryGnome Jul 23 2008, 10:01 PM
it took me a couple of seconds.
Posted by: Fast Jul 23 2008, 10:04 PM
That's funny...I got the update (red bag) from PSN, made a new game on my Japanese PSN account and connected to the network. What seems to be a "now updating/loading" message has been on the screen for the past ten minutes or so...
Posted by: LegendaryGnome Jul 23 2008, 10:06 PM
hmm have you tryed pushing buttons like O or X?
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 23 2008, 10:10 PM
If it's the message I posted earlier, you just hit circle to go ahead. The update it nearly instantaneous.
Posted by: Fast Jul 23 2008, 10:12 PM
| Nevermind, it's all good now.
It was just a connection issue.
Posted by: Smikey Jul 24 2008, 12:52 AM
Wait this game has downloadable content?
Posted by: Devil Kitami Jul 24 2008, 01:12 AM
lololol, thats hilarious. take it as a sign form god, and stop playing this game maybe?
Posted by: jin509 Jul 24 2008, 01:46 AM
why?? i heard that the RX8 is one of the best cars in Ver.3.
Posted by: Smikey Jul 24 2008, 02:18 AM
Lol, it is quite good on most courses. :x
@ Type Zero: wow dude... wow.
Posted by: Tessou Jul 24 2008, 04:29 AM
Yeah, this most definitely was just an unlock for stuff already on the disc. Good to know all the v4 cars are available now, but I'm too busy working on my current 3 cars to get a new one...
Posted by: Silfa Jul 24 2008, 04:38 AM
sorry billy, don't worry. ill be back to running my usual 2'45's with the capp again. not going to be using a fd or 86 this time around. havent decided what ill be using, maybe a one of the 3 new cars.
Posted by: Snippy Jul 24 2008, 05:56 AM
i assume this doesnt work for asia version huh
Posted by: divinity Jy Jul 24 2008, 05:58 AM
Haha. I never even thought about that. I guess that extra $15 really meant more than we all first thought.
As for the new cars, the only one I've driven so far is the Altezza. It's sort of slow on the corners and gets raped in CP1 of Akagi but it has mad acceleration on the straights. I think it does well on Akina as I got a 3'06" stock.
Posted by: BOZZ Jul 24 2008, 06:55 AM
I would think DLC would work for the Asian version, why wouldn't it? It's just like any other game, minus the capability to play against other people online.
Posted by: turbo_b00st Jul 24 2008, 09:33 AM
| Do you guys think that the cars were already on the "game disk", and they just unlocked it?
Posted by: Tomo Jul 24 2008, 09:39 AM
yes, because that's exactly what happened
Posted by: Smikey Jul 24 2008, 10:36 AM
Maybe he thinks you can unlock it via cheat codes? Seeing as cheat codes unlock the data that already exists. Iunno, just a thought. I am pretty sure there are no cheat codes for ID:ES though.
Posted by: Tessou Jul 24 2008, 10:55 AM
It can't work on the asia version since you trigger the unlock by accessing the network mode, which isn't present on the asia version.
Posted by: BOZZ Jul 24 2008, 11:03 AM
Oh wow, that seriously sucks for those with the Asian version...
Posted by: Tomo Jul 24 2008, 11:13 AM
I guess it is possible. Hopefully new music is going to be available and on the disc already too.
Posted by: Phantom_R32 Jul 24 2008, 11:46 AM
So just those 3 cars were available? What about the additional song the OP mentioned?
Posted by: BOZZ Jul 24 2008, 11:50 AM
The song is available already in the game by pressing a combination of buttons at the music selection area (from the main menu) in the game.
Posted by: MzdaspD Jul 24 2008, 12:49 PM
lol, somehow I didn't have to download the red bag package. I went into the network garage and the cars were already there for me.
Posted by: Phantom_R32 Jul 24 2008, 01:27 PM
| So i went to the network garage.. nothings there.. went to the playstation store and downloaded the package.. still nothing there.
What am i doing wrong? Do i need to be on my japanese account to do this or something?
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 24 2008, 01:28 PM
Not that I know of. You could always try loading IDES with your japanese account.
EDIT: Did you go to your network garage and then attempt to add a new car to your garage?
Posted by: turbo_b00st Jul 24 2008, 02:10 PM
na, i dont think it is a cheat, just more of a password or code to unlock the cars for the jpn version of the game.
Posted by: Phantom_R32 Jul 24 2008, 02:14 PM
Yeah. I tried everything. But i ended up using my japanese account.
I really like the miata. I pulled off a 2'47 with it on Akagi DH Dry.. I think i just suck with 6 speeds though. I got a 2'49"6xx and a 2'49"3xx with the Altezza and RX-8.
Posted by: Smikey Jul 24 2008, 02:53 PM
Think about what you just said. ROFL
Posted by: turbo_b00st Jul 24 2008, 03:27 PM
haha, after rereading yes, but how would you put in words without it sounding or referencing " cheats, password, etc...? ( not trying to be stupid or anything)
Posted by: initial_drifter Jul 24 2008, 07:36 PM
mx5 miata it's fast.i beat atteza on yesterday night.i hope sega will update such as add all rivals in stage 4
Posted by: Silfa Jul 24 2008, 07:52 PM
who would they add? project d doesn't race anyone new until the manga vol after their last race. so far where I got to, the new cars are a EvoIX and a Miata. Vol 38 isnt out yet.
Posted by: initial_drifter Jul 24 2008, 08:15 PM
| in stage fourth that sega don't add drivers/rivals in this game are :
evo 5 and 6
that's all i think
Posted by: divinity Jy Jul 25 2008, 01:34 AM
| So... about that download content... it's really... downloadable... right...
So is the Miata really a big of a beast as people say it is? I have one but I have a few other cars to FT before it. But if it's really that good, it might jump up in line.
Posted by: divinity Jy Jul 25 2008, 01:50 AM
Well I don't know if you can count it as "all the extras" since the 3 cars should have came with the game in the first place. But I guess with this release, the game as potential to get better if they decide to (and hopefully they will) add more content.
Posted by: Smikey Jul 25 2008, 01:51 AM
I was under the impression that they were downloadable content.
Posted by: Nomake Wan Jul 25 2008, 02:13 AM
Not with how fast the "download" processed. It was seriously instantaneous. Had to have been just an unlock code or something.
Posted by: LegendaryGnome Jul 25 2008, 02:14 AM
| they are... sorta but its kinda like Test Drive Unlimited where they pretty much have all the cars in it but the company holds out and makes you buy them later. at least thats what i think. but at least this is free.
the Miata seems pretty good, i still got to try the others.
Posted by: Smikey Jul 25 2008, 02:14 AM
Ah. I c wut u did thar.
Posted by: STI Version Aug 1 2008, 05:00 AM

If it's interesting,i must buy Japaneese PSN coupon...
Posted by: TB_InuYasha_X Aug 1 2008, 08:16 AM
| I'll go and check it out.
I'm not japanese.. but i'll stare at it.. lol
I'm not sure.
Both of the two packs have like
A gold line that has 1 / 4.
I'll take a guess.
Music / Avatar parts? o.o;
Posted by: rockman227 Aug 1 2008, 09:22 AM

Posted by: Tessou Aug 1 2008, 11:43 AM
| Okay, I just went and did some snooping of the JP PSN store for IDES updates since you guys brought this up.
Pack 1 is for 27 additional avatar parts for the MALE avatars.
Pack 2 is for 26 additional avatar parts for the FEMALE avatars.
You buy the pack(s) and then activate them by going into network mode garage, and then highlight the last option (download parts). You will find the downloaded stuff in there.
Posted by: Silfa Aug 1 2008, 11:43 AM
I need to get some yen put on my account to make it more kawaii to make someone mad. Can you just add your cc info to the Japanese psn?
Posted by: Tessou Aug 1 2008, 11:51 AM
| I'm actually working on that right now. If it doesn't work, you'll have to find yourself a JP PSN prepaid card to put some yen on the account.
UPDATE: You can enter your cc info just fine. The problem comes in inputting a billing address that they use to verify the card. Since you can't input a US address correctly on that page, you're pretty much screwed.
Time to look for a card...
Posted by: SmGy Aug 1 2008, 11:54 AM
I don't think you can, but you can buy japanese PSN cards from play-asia and shopncsx.
Posted by: Tessou Aug 1 2008, 12:05 PM
| Yeah, I just bought a 10,000 yen card from play asia. Once I get the new content, I'll post up pics so people can see if it's worth the effort or not.
EDIT: Sorry for the temporary lock there, guys. I merged this with the existing DLC thread, which was locked already, which caused the whole thing to lock up. After splitting all of the chaff from the thread, I reopened it for your use.
*Merged, Split, and Reopened*
EDIT2: I also pinned this topic since it includes all the information you'll ever need for downloading and installing these extra content packs, on top of deciphering just what the hell you guys are adding to the game. Until SEGA shows signs that the DLC is no longer coming, it'll stay pinned.

Thank you for translation.I don't buy this (not interested by avatars...but additionnal courses were welcome).

I'll assume that card was.. 10 dollars? o.o
Scratch that.... 100 and some bucks?

About there, yes. I intend to have some breathing room on the account in case some more awesome stuff appears on the JP PSN store.

Is there a guide out there on how to download the new cars?
Posted by: Silfa Aug 10 2008, 10:43 AM
all you do is just sign into your japanese psn account. and go into the PSN store and download it. then start the game and go into the network mode and there you go.

I'll probably get the ￥５０００ card from Yes-Asia since the ￥１０、０００ card from Play-Asia cost $130. After I unlocked every avatar parts, it seems limited, so I'll get 27 more for the male and 26 more for the female when I have the chance.

I made a JPN PSN but after that i don't know much japanese, so i couldn't find the initial d content in the japanese psn store.
Posted by: Tessou Aug 12 2008, 02:43 AM
In the JP PSN, just hit the top option on the main menu, and look for the Extreme Stage logo amid the mass of games. The only thing in there without a price tag is the new car package.

you think they would ever have the DLC on a website, where you can download it manually on a PC and install it via usb drive or something, I knew I shoulda got the Japanese version =(

| My JP PSN yen card is coming in tomorrow. I'll see about posting some shots of the pay-DLC content ASAP.
UPDATE: Okay, I got the card validated in the JP PSN, bought both character packs, and checked them out.
First of all, here's how to access them once you buy them. When you buy them, the red bag will appear next to the items in the shop to confirm. Boot up IDES with the account you bought the items with and go to network mode. After accepting the agreement, you will get a message (it asks if you want to download extra content). Hit yes, and you'll get a short loading screen. Congratulations, your avatar parts are now added.
Now, you can only manipulate these new parts in network mode. They are not added to the list of parts in your regular garage, so you must change these new parts around in the network mode garage. Go to the garage, and select the last option (downloadable items) to see the new parts pop up in a list. This menu works just like the My Character part of your regular garage, except there are no columns to separate the pieces by type.
Here's the rundown of what the male characters get:
3 Face Structure parts (3 variations of a semi-fat face, looks like Itsuki's build)
8 Shirts (2 dress shirts, 2 stylized dress shirts, 4 tanktops)
2 Eyes (large and wide-eyed)
3 Expressions (2 sneering, one wide mouth, and these also change your nose)
1 Necklace (looks like a small bell)
1 Pair of Glasses (Tinted yellow)
9 Hair/Hat Pieces (4 colors of short-spiky, and 5 knit caps)
Here's some pictures of what they look like. I didn't snap pics of all of them, but I will take requests if anybody is interested in how the other variations look.
Dress Shirt (comes in pink and blue)
Stylish Dress Shirt (comes in yellow and olive)
Tank Top (comes in yellow, blue, black...)
Sneering Face (all three of the new expressions look pretty crappy)
Tinted Glasses (kind of hard to see the difference with the lighting, but they're yellow)
Short Spiked Hair (comes in blue, brown, black, and gold)
Knit Cap variation 1 (comes in green and beige)
Knit Cap variation 2 (comes in red, blue, and light brown)

I'm bumping this topic since new information is out and I don't think anyone noticed. As per the forum guidelines, I am allowed to do this up to 3 times in the same thread.

| Can anyone describe the RX8's characteristics? drifty, fast/slow, etc?
I'm looking for a car that doesn't drift so much. Even though my main car is 86, and i love it.

Thanks for the picture update man. I've been curious as to what some of the new avatar parts looked like. I think I might have to get me one of the Japanese PSN cards, not only for ID add-ons, but other things in the Japan store as well.

| hey i've made my japanese psn account but when i tried to log in it just takes ages to load and comes up with a message saying that the connection to the playstation network timed out... this does not happen with my UK account or the other two UK accounts on my ps3. Is it just a connection problem? if so how can i improve connection, i've already tried opening the following ports: TCP:80,443,5223 & 10070-10080 and also UDP:3478, 3479, 3658, 10070-10070 & 5010. These ports i have forwarded are the ones i have told that are needed for ps3 games online in general which have worked fine (e.g. COD4, Fifa08) and i have also added a few that someone said i needed for japan version of extreme stage (when it arrives). The problem is i cant even connect to the online account for my japanese psn so i am afraid that i wont be able to access the network mode of extreme stage as well as unlocking new content from the japanese online store. Any suggestions would be great in helping me getting connected! Thanks!
p.s. i'm pretty sure i havent made any mistakes when creating the account and that is not the problem here.

Connect via broadband lol. Goto the JP PSN Store, in 3rd or 4th lefthand menu find ID by its title (its towards the end of the righthand side games), get the 3rd content. Once it has shopping bag, exit, goto the game, make a new file and go online. It will ask to patch, do it. Go to garage and check for new cars. Now once they're present, go back to your main User/PSN account, load the game/save and choose new cars!

| Help I can't download the IDES cars add-on.
What i did was i logged into my JP PS Store and found the IDES folder and clicked on the download(orange button) then it load up the cart but there is nothing in the cart and the only button i could press is the back button, when i went back there was an red bag next to the IDES Car add-on pic but the "download"(orange) button and "add to cart"(blue) button was gone.
What should i do??

log into your jp PSN online garage and it should load if you downloaded the right file
Posted by: imprezagc8 Mar 13 2009, 07:46 PM
just buy it. just think of it this way, it's a lot cheaper than playing at an arcade

Anyone think they'll release any additional DLC? I'd love to see more before they decide to release another console version >_<
Posted by: MzdaspD Jul 13 2009, 10:55 AM
I doubt they will, the popularity of this game really died.
Posted by: Tessou Jul 13 2009, 11:11 AM
Sega is currently supporting ID5, and the community for IDES has dwindled to a trickle after only a few months of release, so I highly doubt that any sort of additional content will appear for this game.
Posted by: lorechan26 Jul 14 2009, 04:06 AM
Okay, I was afraid of that. Thanks for the input guys. grr, gotta travel like 2 states now to find a decent IDAS machine.
Posted by: imprezagc8 Jul 14 2009, 05:52 PM
i haven't played in so long. do they even still release the comics?
Posted by: MzdaspD Jul 14 2009, 10:11 PM
I dont think so, I just went on the extreme stage site and they dont seem to have any new downloadable contents
Posted by: Alan Aug 9 2009, 04:20 PM
woot got the cars today...i was simple but the jap playstation store was difficult to find the initial d files lol
Posted by: keisukeMamoru86 Aug 11 2009, 12:02 AM
I wish they would release a patch for IDES so that it handles like version 5. That would definitely get me to play the game again, even without trophies.

| I've got a JP PSN account but where do I find the DLC for IDES on their site?
I have the Asian version of IDES, not the Japanese version. Would this make a difference at all?
Posted by: RIT_ninja Sep 13 2009, 12:42 PM
I think the DLC is only for the japanese version, sorry

| Hi guys...
I just gotten the Initial D Extreme Stage from Play-Asia. Been playing for a couple of hours and then miss my RX-8.
So I create a Japanese PSN id. Log into the Japanese PSN store. And couldn't find the DLC anywhere at all.
Can anyone please guide me?
Posted by: RIT_ninja Apr 11 2010, 09:57 PM
| you should still be able to find it, look harder cuz its old and buried under other dlc
just click on it and it will become a red gift bag, then start the game and go onto internet mode. Click agree and you should receive the 3 cars.
Again, you must have the Japanese version

Edit again: I just got the cars... nothing really special lol.
