QUOTE (TougeSpirit @ Today, 5:51 AM)
From my experimentation, the throttle opening tap needs to be 100% to be effective, the only real concern is the duration as that affects the level of the drift, I'm still playing around here, but my times were pretty much the same with or without using it. But it gives you something fun to fool around with in hairpins instead of just waiting off the throttle to clear a corner

Ah, but since the tach doesnt fall after the drift becomes obvious, can we not say that it's a full throttle all the way? That appears to be the most likely possibility.

Meh. True enough, it would be fun to get sideways once in a while.

Not the tachometer that stalls when you tap the gas while braking, it's the speedometer.

Hmmm depends on how much you brake each curve and the line in the curve.
Where you usually play?

based on the "drift" videos i've seen... i'm kinda tempted to try it out myself... XD

...but i'll remain with grip style for now; i'll try to beat more personal best times using grip style... if i get stuck and don't improve on any of the times for a month, then that's the time i'll give drift style a shot...

So this means even the first version EXP also able to use this style? I did try it but the result is not very good about it. Perhaps my skills is still lacking something perhaps.

i would also like to make special note that during the akina drift runs, not all corners, specifically the consecs, are taken sideways. Puts some more complication in this already muddled riddle, doesnt it?

"I would also like to make a special note that during Akina drift runs, not all corners (specifically the consecutives), are taken sideways."
I think that would be the correct way of saying it without it being semi confusing.

Tried the drift style on my practice runs of Tsukuba. I noticed I end up losing 3 seconds, but thats from my lack of skill with the change in driving style.

Yea is not taken sideways but they did pump the accel konti b4 going into the cons the drift style used in tsu ob drift in n countersteer out ...

managed to cut a bit of my TA wit drift in akina dhd still need to improve my lining, cornering angle, braking point n releasing timing n accel timing ...

the info i got from my buddy in JAP is that NO DRIFT NO BOOST ... dry.gif

good luck all ... is time to drift laugh.gif

its funny.... i'm putting in 'drifts' into my Akina runs... at least.. i think it looks like drifts....

end up getting - - + - for my checkpoints and ending on same timing as a normal driftless run.

maybe i'm slow enough that 'less correct' drifts doesn't penalise me as much... lolx...

now to fix CP3... god knows what i was trying to do there the other day.

same for Akagi.. drift timing = driftless record.. =.= ... .. .

@Rei.G > very true bout the lining n also to add up is when u drift mk sure don't hit the inner wall especially akina dhd RHOD n 3 lane turn > still have to practice ... sad.gif

it took the JAPs 1 yr to master it when v were still mastering our grip techniques ... dry.gif

thats why they won't mind showing us their #1 videos of akina dhd n dhw ... dry.gif

yep.
But gd thing they show the vids, at least we don't have to crack our heads to figure out their correct drift method.
makes this game more interesting to play.

is true the videos does help us alot in TAing but sometimes this JAP videos they dont reli display their times fully especially when they fin their TAs they edited the times from screen ...

the .04.7xx akina dhd i noticed the last corner he was at the speed of 156 before turning in even though his lining was superb but normally if there is boost in CP4 the entry speed will be 157 n his cp4 was 47.096 ... ohmy.gif

i m still puzzled there otherwise the rest of his TA was almost perfect ... happy.gif
