Actually 6 gears cars like RX8, BNR34 and even Supra have great pickup.
For 5 gear cars, FD3S6 have great startup too.
Most importantly is your startup technique must be right to bring out the acceleration of the car.

i don't think there is an actual list that people tried to compile yet...

the HK ppl were the first to compile a list back in V2 and V3... lets see which area gets it first this time =P

if Boost on, i was at back most of the time, is useless to stay at the front, since even noob can catch up even he keep ramming the wall, he will catch up on straight again ... I dont think boost brake even needed for ver5, since the other boost is already there~

I was able to take the lead 3 times against an FT'd supra with my FT'd S2K. By doing half gas and fullgassing on "GO!". I get the lead by +0.2 m.

Either its the startup or the S2K is really faster than the Supra at startup (both are 6 gear cars for those who dont know)

Is there any difference when it is boost off and then both cars are not equally tuned? (meaning the car is FT and the other is half-tuned/not fully tuned)

I saw that yesterday, they played with boost on...the FT car(Evo IX) and the half-tuned car(FD3S)...and they have a close fight man...geeezzzz... pinch2.gif

Well i think if u are battling someone and ur half tuned and he's full tuned i think you should battle with boost on cause you have a major disadvantge if it's in boost off

The best start up car has always been 6 gear cars so its either the roaster or the GDBF. 5 gear car can never beat 6 gear on start up.

I wouldn't state things unless they are absolutely proven. Unless you do have proof.

Nope. Ramming slows you down. IDAS5 now exhibits some physics from Battle Gear.

If a player is slowing down for a curve and the one behind him just decides to ram him, the rammed car will shoot out towards the wall BUT the car who rammed him will get lagged accel coming out of the exit.

Ive been through 2 battles in which this happened, and I know the guy behind me is no dunce in Akina because we almost have the same time.

speaking of which

4wd cars in id5 now picks up faster than frs and mrs. i don't know about ffs.

i realised this when i was battling some people that even with my fully tuned nb8c, i kept losing the startup to a half baked r32.

so i experimented with my friend. he had a fully tuned gc8v and i had a fully tuned nb8c.

on iro dh's starting straightway. boost off, so that we are sure that the boost doesn't kick in.

experiment number 1: both of us full gas on countdown. when the race started. the imprezza straight away took 2 meter lead.

experiment number 2: we tried the TA way of starting up. 1/4 gas on countdown. when there's anothe 1/3 seconds left to GO, full gas. The gc8 had a 1.5m lead over my car.

experiment number 3. no gas at countdown. after the word Go we stepped full gas, and the cars started out evenly.

we tried this on a couple of different maps that had no line advantages on startup. and the results were the same.

we tried with a stock mr2 and a stock r32. same thing. the r32 had the advantage. also tried the supra with the r34. same results, with the 4wd taking the lead.

So we know 4WD has the best off the line start but do we know which car specifically? It seem like its lthe R32?
