They are recruiting people to find older SEB releases because Avex lost the original masters and without them they can't mix the SEB 240 anniversary CDs! crying2.gif

How does Avex not have the original masters? And why would anyone else have them?

The original masters were "misplaced" but they do not have the CD releases either hence the plea for recruits to find them. sad.gif

That's so weird, I know that guy who helped start SEB had a complete collection shown off in the SEB 200 DVD. I thought that was his personal archive, collected as they came out, wonder why they can't use that.

Otherwise, if they're looking for the multitracks, I dunno why they can't just contact the labels for copies from their archives. I know all the old Time stuff is locked away in SAIFAM vaults, and Newfield surely has most Delta stuff. Not sure about A-Beat C, actually - I wonder who's in charge of their masters.

Its more likely that they're looking for a super fan or someone who has every SEB release to showcase in the booklet.

Dave Rodgers most likely has all the A-Beat C stuff locked up in his studio, acappellas and all.

Probably. I can't imagine Contini having much use for them, after all.

Sinclaire and Newfield are notorious for keeping every single sound-file they've ever produced. Dave's probably got someone else to handle the archiving, and Contini's off playing Count Chocula in Ozzfest Europa derp.gif ~ Stefano keeps everything too, but I've no clue if he kept or was even allowed to keep the stuff from his time at Vibration. ♫

Max was the original commissioner of the SEB series... there's no way Avex or him don't have a crate full of masters/copies?

You know HE is the eurobeat super fan, he probably has all the acappellas!

Also he co-wrote this little number, which imo is the BEST X'mas eurobeat song ever! cool.gif

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I don't know how many times they mixed the same songs that were from between SEB 1 to 100. They HAVE the masters. All of them. Otherwise, they would just confirm that they are the worst major label in the world.

As for the message in the picture, I think they are just searching for people to share their SEB / Eurobeat collection by sending pictures at the email in that picture. So, I think that means that they just want to meet somebody to film the collection or present a diaporama or just have pictures ion the booklet... I wouldn't read too much into it.

I could "OCR" (I don't think OCR would be helpful here) so we could get a better translation or something. So, don't get your hopes up.

EDIT

I didn't have to, actually. The official website has the (bigger) text version. Google translate of it:
QUOTE
It has become a release (scheduled) to come August SEB240 ANNIVERSARY
Dream planning the first step to send to commemorate!

In addition, there is so much of the feelings against the euro beat! Large recruitment who boast can be surrounding and so on SEB and the euro beat!

※ on staff for those who have been chosen are of contact, we will introduce in the SEB booklet will be at a later date to interview.

So, exactly what I said. They are searching for THE biggest SEB / eurobeat geek.

takumi333: "a 10 CD anniversary release?!?!"

Where did you get this information? Do you read it from the price? If so, the price looks more like 3 CDs plus one DVD. Or even only two CDs.

No that's just wishful thinking on my part! tongue.gif

Most likely it will be 2 CDs and 1 DVD as 3 discs is the most discs any anniversary release has had up to this point BUT I'm hoping they decide to do something a little SPECIAL for this release. (Crosses fingers)
