MFT Camaro Z/520 '69

user posted image

My biggest gripe in typical american cars is the fact that the torque and power have been split apart. Torque is low down, and horsepower high up. There are few exceptions though, like some Chevrolets. This time I used '69 305ci Z/28 Camaro, and gave it more power and improved the handling and drivetrain. Thus, I represent MFT Camaro Z/520'69! (pics will be up tomorrow)

What you need: Chevrolet Camaro 305ci Z/28 '69

oilchange, racing exhaust, racing chip, NA stage 3,port polish, engine balancing, S3 tyres, racing brakes, brake controller, racing suspension, racing transmission, triple plate clutch, racing flywheel, carbon driveshaft, FC LSD, weigh reduction stage 2/3

Suspension:
SR: 5.0/3.0
RH: 110/110
DBS: 5/3
DRBS: 5/3
Camber: 3.0/1.5
Toe: 0/-2
Stabilizer: 5/2

LSD

Okay, since I left this thread alone for a while because me and my friend put up a new ( and very successful) tuner thread up in the GTP, I've decided to link my setups from there to here. there's more tune-ups on the first page of that thread, but for now I'm only linking my own ones. Feel free to test them and leave comments/reviews to either thread.

Ooh, this is like a history lesson: "Leonidae, Pre-MFT"!

I think you got a hint lisdexic in the Camaro description: horsepoweris high and torque is low?

I think he means the location of the torque peak and maximum horsepower on the powerband, the torque is in the low RPM region while the maximum power is attained near the redline. And unfortunately the result is an engine that never seems to give full power.

Seeing you speak about lessons, how good are you at calculating 1+1 when it comes to certain graphical things? wink2.gif

Ummmm... What? blink.gif I'm confused. And yeah, I looked at it again and realized I just misunderstood the phrasing. But, it's always fun to say 'lisdexic!' LISDEXIC! Wheeee! grin2.gif

Behold at yet another Nissan from MFT! As the rest of the lot, this is by no means your everyday shopping trolley. No, it's lightened to the extreme, decorated with an integrated rollcage and lightweight bucket seats, and every pedal and switch has become a precision tool for going fast. "But this car is naturally aspirated, it can't be that fast.." Well, our test run on Autumn Ring told us otherwise. It did beat 425bhp Evo V GSR by 2 seconds. On short track like that, 2 seconds is an eternity. And this happened with mere 282bhp and no downforce. And still it has crisp handling and it's willing to kick the tail out playfully when provoked. At high speed corners, some caution is needed since even MFT's wizards can't defeat the laws of the physics. Anyway, from our point of view, this car has deserved the moniker Silvia FQ Aero. And we all know what the FQ means, don't we?
