As for the rest. @Bozz Savage, Well, you have a point. For the case of the Ford GT, and most of them, I use screenshots I take from the likes of NFS and GT4, for the Ford GT, it didn't hit me until later that you could actually change the front tire sizes, since that caris equiped with 20 inch rims (ergo how low the tire profiles are...if that's the right term). But I figured at that point 'screw it' and went with it. As for why most of them are simple, well I've been trying to re-teach myself some shading/tinting skills, after my run with an Enzo which ended up at 800+ layers, I realized I had to go for another approach than the one I was doing. So I went so far for simple, that and the fact a bunch of them are for reference for if/when I take the time and effort to draw them by hand, and I wanted to get a lot of them done in as short a time as possible, and maybe work on them further. An example is this this having both the Carrera GT and Mustang GT I worked on earlier, with my attempts at shading and tinting, neither one is finished though, but it's an idea. Another being this, an XR GTR and an FXO GTR, both from LFS S2, doning the Racing Team Solvalou colors (or at least my rendition) from Ridge Racer Type 4. It'll be a while till I finish those two, in the meantime that will have to be settled for... as for what I'm aiming for, this piece should be a good idea. I've been experimenting constantly with trying something, but again, I doubt what I do really counts as vector, at best maybe a 'toon' but even so... I would say it's because I have elements but I doubt that's an excuse, since I'm gonna try and refer from a tutorial by Donbenni again and see where I'll go with it. That's all I've got to say on that, until another time. This post has been edited by Rossriders on Apr 25 2008, 03:50 PM |

I'm not done with it yet and I can't show you the WIP because the file is at school. I'll show you when I finish though! Ian |

If you noticed during school plays when the actors have to pile on their makeup they lose definition on their face and the color is a bit off. But Ray how do you do eyes? That's been pissing me off. I've been working on mine at school and the eyes are pissing me off! Ian |

Not the vector itself i was frustrated at, outside stuff bothering me. So some things werent done as better as i'd like but i just wanted it done so i can move on. Ian's right though about the makeup thing. was kinda thinkin of pinup girls at first when i did this. Btw, exactly whats troublin you with the eyes Ian? heres a closer crop to see. I don't have a work in progress to show you right now, but I'm going to email my teacher and see if she can send me the file. Well I just can't seem to get them right. It's bothering me. Everything else I did really well for my first time vectoring. I just can't get them to look like a real eye. I guess I'm having trouble with shapes. And coloring a bit. Maybe adding highlights would be of more help. Also my hair is sort of one dimensional, but the photgraph of me I'm vectoring it after the hair doesn't have much detail and in general I don't have much color variation. What can I do to add a little more detail? Ian |
