This is most likely a huge shot in the dark but I was wondering if anyone here is into these games? I mainly play Melee at the moment but I do enjoy some Project M from time to time. I also play online via NetPlay in case any of you want to game sometime!

Nope you aren't alone. Huge smash fan here, but I'll admit... I actually love the very-broken-gameplay brawler ,PSASBR, more honestly. I guess I like the gameplay aspect on how the game works, just wish their weren't huge gaps between the low tiers and high tiers.

But not to get off topic, I still keep up with the games. I love Melee a lot more and I played Project M once and it sure is a whole loads of shit better than Brawl.
BTW, is the netplay you're referring to for Project M?

When I say NetPlay I am referring to playing Dolphin online. This allows Super Smash Bros. Melee and Project M to be played online with an emulator. n_n If you want more information you can message me and I can fill you in on it. It is definitely one of the best ways to practice nowadays if you don't have anyone available locally. I was an unofficial backroom tester for Project M back in its early days due to my skill/history in Melee. My friend was the official backroom tester and I would just go over and kick his ass in Project M. Haha Will you be attending MLG Anaheim for le Smash Bros.? >w>

Ahhh the GC and Wii emulator Dolphin. I've heard of it but holy shit once in a million years I would I hear something amazing, playing online with melee and project M. Unfortunately, my laptop won't be able to run it. Still running the good olé Windows XP. Haha
Though I do plan on investing in building my own pc sometime next year for sim racing. It may be sooner now that you have told me about this though.

MLG Anaheim? Hmm I'm going to have to check that out but the chance of me going is probably a no no because I haz no money. =(

If only you live here in SD. Some random kid in my local college started a Smash gathering with friendlies and tourneys almost every Wednesday. A bunch of cocky shit heads though. Lol

Awww well that's a bummer. Hopefully you get a new PC soon or you can make it out to MLG! I'm preeeetty far from SD so I do apologize about that. There will also be a Melee tournament at Anime Expo. Just a heads up!

This MLG Anaheim tourny, is this the one that Nintendo is hosting the invitational tourny thing tomorrow during E3? If so, I'm going. I just got invited to go by a friend just right now. =D

EDIT:
Lol thought it was today. I meant tomorrow, tomorrow. Haha

Nope, MLG is a professional circuit tournament for Melee only. Evo will also be hosting a huge Melee tournament. Melee is official an eSport now. The Nintendo E3 tournament is just a promotional thing they are doing for Smash 4. They invited professional players as well as somewhat known players to compete in their mini tournament. You got invited? You're so lucky! I'll have to watch from a computer screen I guess. ; ^ ;

Man I never really got into the competitive scene in any of the SSB games and now it makes me really want to now just hearing that. Haha

About the E3 event, it was awesome other than the fan boyish picks but still it was awesome. Really wanted Hungrybox to win that last match though.

Oh yeah, were you able to try out the demo in a best buy?

I play SSBM competitively here in Australia smile.gif

Unfortunatly our net here is pretty awful by other countries standards (only this year are we starting to get improvements so netplay isn't really an option :/

it's really amazing to see how much recognition the scene around the world is getting now that MLG has revived the Melee circuit again and Evo has picked up the game (hopefully ongoing) again after last years amazing donation run to get the game featured

Couldn't agree with you more regarding how amazing it is to see Melee being revived in a professional manner. MLG was awesome if you were just spectator, if you were competing it was not so fun. Very unorganized and the rules were moronic on the first day. I got extremely far in the open bracket but ended up losing due to a mishap on Yoshi's Story with Randall (go figure). I would have been able to face CRS.Chillindude829 afterwards. My opponent was a cool sport about it though. I ended up playing with a lot of the pros and stood my ground very well, took a good amount of games off some of them too. happy.gif; Next stop for me will be Evo 2014. I haven't heard anything about the net in Australia. o_o Is it really that bad? How is the Melee scene where you live?

The Melee scene is pretty big here, it died down a lot but once the smash bros documentary came out people became interested in learning it or it reignited the passion some of the older players used to have.

We're only just getting an upgrade from copper network cabling to fiber optic cables in Australia and it's being ran out very slowly, it works for other games but with a game like melee even the slightest lag feels awful sad.gif

Nice work in the MLG bracket though, will you be going to Evo this weekend? wink2.gif
