Now that I've got your attention, here's the answers to questions that I'm sure you were about to ask before you saw this thread: IDAS4 FAQ 1) Is there an exterior part I can add to my car to make it faster or more stable? - Exterior parts dont matter in IDAS4. They dont matter. They dont make your speed, accel, brakes faster or stronger and doesnt make your handling "heavier". All they are good for is aesthetic value. 2) How do I do teh doriftu?? - Hold the wheel like a good little boy. Now move both your arms in harmony either to the right or left. There! Congratulations. 3) What is the best overall car in IDAS4? - The Trueno claims top rank because its the easiest car to control and has good speed and accel everywhere. Still, it doesnt mean you would be godly if you use a Trueno. Its very slippery so its also harder on wet but if you learn to control it right, you have a good all-rounder car. Its ok in battles but does not have the best startup in the game. Also, every course has "course cars" which either performs better or has better top speed than all the other cars. 4) What are the "course cars" and why? Akina Lake ccw - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 (course car because of 4th gear overrev top speed 191) Akina Lake cw - Subaru Impreza GDBF (course car because of 4th gear overrev top speed 191) Myogi DH - Honda Civic EG6 (course car because of slower speed loss during turns) Myogi UH - Nissan Skyline GTR32 (course car because of every gear's top speed is higher than most cars by 1kph; ie: 4th gear is at 169kph) Akagi DH - Mazda RX7 FC (course car because of slower speed loss during turns and easier to handle than the FD) Akagi UH - Mazda RX7 FD (course car because of slower speed loss during turns as well as stability on exit. It also has a faster 3rd gear compared by 1kph compared to other cars: 116kph) Akina DH - AE86 Trueno (course car because of every gear's top speed is higher than most cars by 1kph; ie: 5th gear is at 177kph) Akina UH - Subaru Impreza GC8V (course car because of every gear's top speed is higher than most cars by 1kph; ie: 5th gear is at 175kph) Irohazaka DH - Toyota MR2 (course car because of every gear's top speed is higher than most cars by 1kph; ie: 3rd gear is at 105kph) Irohazaka UH / Reverse - Suzuki Cappucino, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III (for the capp, course car because its small size allows you to make a tighter line on the wall ram. In iro reverse, even by using the wall ram, there is a tendency for other cars to slip on the outside, hitting the outside wall too rather than just the inside wall. The cappa doesnt, if you do it the correct way. For the Evo3, it's got killer acceleration for Reverse and still slightly smaller than most of the cars in its accel range.) Tsukuba OB - Honda S2000 (course car because of every gear's top speed is higher than most cars by 1kph; ie: 5th gear is at 148kph. Three other cars share this top speed, the EK9, the GTR34 and the GTR32 but the S2000's handling as well as the top speed makes it the ideal choice for the course car) Tsukuba IB - Nissan Skyline GTR34 (course car because of every gear's top speed is higher than most cars by 1kph; ie: 5th gear is at 148kph) 5) Yay! So if I use a course car during battle, I'll instantly pwn those who dont have them? - Uhhh.... no. Course cars lose their 1kph or slower speed loss advantages during battles. Their speed goes back to regular speed. There are only 3 exceptions. I cant say them, though. LOL! Still, some course cars have handling advantages. For example, I'd still like to use the Trueno in Akina DH or S2K in Tsukuba OB but I dont want to use the GTR34 in Tsukuba IB because of its "omfg-im-hitting-the-wall-AGAIN" handling. 6) Well, if I want to have 3 "great-everywhere-and-TA" cars in one card, which would you recommend? - Tough question. I would go with 3 alternatives. And all of them have the Trueno: ( Option A ) Trueno, FC, S2K - Trueno obviously can take on any course but to own the big 3 (ie: Akina, Akagi, Tsukuba), these 3 course cars can take on any downhill map and fast enough in the UH. These are the cars btw on my very first IDAS4 card. And this garage is what I would say my "main" one. ( Option B ) Trueno, FD, MR2 - You have two great downhill cars with the Trueno and the MR2, the FD is there to get those wet maps that you think are too slippery for your underpowered cars and also to apply a bit of sexiness. Plus you get Iro with the MR2. ( Option C ) Trueno, GC8V, Cappucino - Now if you consider yourself quite a battler and also you love challenges and still want to pwn TA maps in your spare time, this is a good line-up. The ever-redundant Trueno is still there. This time we have the GC8V which acts like the FD on Option B except that this has GREAT start-up for those who love being in the front. For the pros who love the challenge, the cappa actually has SLOWER speeds than ALL cars in ALL maps AND also has startup. Slower by 1 to 1.5KPH than all cars, its the ultimate underdog car! Still, it can do a great line and passing is a breeze. Take note: Black cappa + Night condition + Blind attack = sex 7) How do I get the tuning shops? - Alright, after you first get your car and card, keep ejecting your card until you get to your very first PERFORMANCE PARTS SHOP. You will know it when you see stuff like ENGINE, EXHAUST, BODY, ETC. Anyway this IS the performance shop, get your first upgrade and then eject your card. Now look at the pattern below: Performance Shop ---> Normal Eject ---> Normal Eject ---> Body Shop A ---> Avatar random thingee ---> Normal Eject ---> Repeat from the start Take note that there are two body shops. A and B. Body Shop A would be the hoods, rear bumper, body kits, rear spoiler, Side skirts/fender. Body Shop B would contain Muffler, Wheels, Sticker, Transmission, Mirrors and Misc. Also take note that if you MISS your performance shop (ie: did not eject your card and continued), then dont fret because your pattern will change. This time, replace Body Shop A or B with Performance Shop and proceed as normal. Dont miss it again. 8) Can you tell me what is the best tuning method? - I get this question a lot. The answer is that THERE IS NO "RIGHT" WAY TO TUNE! You can go 1-1-1-1-1 or 2-1-1-1-1 or 7-0-0-0-0. It all depends on you. What you should take note thought is that its not the right way of the tune that you should be concerned about but rather TO GET YOUR FRICKIN' CAR FRICKIN' FULL TUNED!!! But if you INSIST on wanting a tuning pattern. I usually complete Step 7 Engine first in all cars. And then the next internal upgrades will depend on the car. For example, Im tuning a car with good handling but is considered "underpowered" (ie: Trueno, S2K, FC, Levin, AE85, Miata, etc) I do this method 7-7-0-0-7. The point of doing it this way is to boost power first since I dont have power but have decent handling. Logical, right? Now if I was tuning cars which has bad-ass power but heavier handling (ie: Evo9, GDBF, FD, the Skylines, etc), I do it this way 7-0-7-7-0. I STILL step 7 the Engine but this time, I choose body and suspension first over exhaust and ECU. Since I already have kick-ass accel, I focus on the handling first. Still, as again stressed, it doesnt matter which way you go to tune. This is your goal ---> 7-7-7-7-7. How you get there is up to you. 9) Do you use the brakes? - If you're on a ver1.2 machine: Not always. Only to PC. Refer to this thread to know more: https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=31636 - If you're on a ver1.5 machine: Brakes are extremely important in the game. Not braking will result in loss of traction for your wheels making your car swerve out of control. Even if you do fix this "oversteer moment", your accel is lagged until the next hairpin you need to brake on. PC will not work like it used to in ver1.2. It can still fix your accel a wee bit but nothing to bring it back to even 50%. 10) How do you get auras? - You cant. At least not yet. What we have is the "international" version. Only the japanese versions have auras and ranks. 11) What car has the best startup in the game? - Nobody has proven one car to be the best but take note that AWD cars have better startup than FR or FF cars. The gears have little to do with it. Its all on the traction. 12) What is the best engine for my Trueno? - Any. All 3 engines perform the same. Only the tachs and the sound changes. 13) How can I post my times / see the times on the (English) internet rankings? - Click on this link: http://netrank.initiald.sega.com/ranking/ If you want to post your time, go to DRIVER REGISTRATION. You need your TA password and your Card Number (its on your card). If asked for an email, you can use an email that your ISP has provided for you or, for less hassle, use www.keromail.com. The usual emails dont work, ie: Yahoo, Google, Hotmail. 14) I'm new, what car do you think I should make first? - Make what you want. No use making a car if you dont like it. But if you want to be a serious TA player, refer to my table on "course cars" above and make the suitable car for the course. If you still want to pester me about it. The Trueno, S2000 and the MR2 are great cars for beginners. They're speedy, you can take them anywhere (the Trueno is a tad bit slippery, though) but these cars will help you learn the basics of the game. 15) Do I really need to PC? - If you're on a ver1.2 machine: Do you really need to breathe? - If you're on a ver1.5 machine: On some occasions it still works but not all the time. (Its used mainly now on entry and not on exit) 16) Does eraser still work? - No. Everyone who tell you stuff like that or some "clutch kicking", are just acting cool and dont know jacksh*t about what they're talking about. 17) What is the best startup for the game? - For Time Attacks, I do a hot start overreving it as it counts down and immediately shifting to 2nd gear when it says "go". The engine will accelerate the same but the point of shifting quickly lessens the chance for you to mess up shifting to 2nd gear on a normal shift. If you overrev a bit on 1st gear, it already messes up your speed which messes up your times. For battles, what I do is do a cold start but I kick the pedal at the "one" number. When go starts, the needle will jump to the right RPM and I shift to 2nd gear normally when 1st gear hits the limit. I have made experiments and I've found out that on TAs, any way to shift is ok (cold start, hard start, shift up immediately, normal shifting) but shifting up immediately gives you less chances to screw up shifting to 2nd gear. 18) What are the different shift points in the game? - This time around, there are no specific shift points. You shift up when your car is overreving. 19) Im playing ver1.5 now. But I still like to play on ver1.2 machines. Is this possible? - Yes. When you first play ver1.5 after 1.2, the machine will prompt you that all your times from the previous version will be replaced by your new times for ver1.5. Dont worry. If you return to a 1.2 machine, all your times will still be there. But what for eh? Life is about adapting. If you dont adapt, you die. Life lesson kiddo. 20) I'm renewing my card but I got something called ERROR 403 and the techs at my arcade dont know what to do. Why does this happen? How can I solve this? - Ah, the dreaded 403. Yep, this still happens even on ver1.5. There are a few reasons why this happens. Your arcade may have a faulty card dispenser but most likely, if your arcade stores their cards by the bulk in the machine, the cards get stuck and the machine tells you it cant get the card. There are instances that a card is inserted the wrong way on the slot (stupid techs). Anyway, no problem. Once you've started the renewal process, your data gets stored on the machine. There was just an error writing it on the new card. - Here's what you should do. Dont be afraid when the techs turn the machine off (but to be safe, tell them not to.) Tell them to press the "service test button thingie" inside the slot where you put in tokens. There would be a series of options that will appear. You should go to "GAME TEST MODE." And then more options will appear. Look for the one that says "IC CARD RESTORATION". When you click on that, you will see a series of card numbers (remember that when something goes wrong on renewal, the machine stores the data). Find the one that matches yours. Tell the tech to highlight it, click that service test button thingy again then click on the option that says "restore". The machine will ask you to insert back your "Expired" Card. It will then write your data back on it. You can then start the renewal process again and hope it would never happen. Just ask the tech to check if the cards are inserted properly, if the dispenser is ok, etc etc etc. 21) Who are you? - I'm just a normal player. I'm from the Philippines, though if you want to know more. 22) Why should I believe you? - Tell you what... click on this link ---> http://netrank.initiald.sega.com/ranking/ Pick a map then click on total rankings. Find my card name WOLF or any of my students' card names, GECKO, CROW, AHC, HYENA, AURICK or VIPER. If we have a faster time on the map than you do, then you dont have the right to question my answers. BUT if you are faster than I am, then you're not supposed to be in this thread because you already know all of this, dumbass. IDAS4 RANDOM SHIT Some tidbits about the game if you want to know. the caps should alteast attract the attention of newbs. something must get their attention so they can avoid needlessly creating a new thread. |

Perhaps adding "How should I tune? 1-2-3-4-5 or 1-0-0-0-1 or etc etc" can be considered too, since that's the question that's gaining popularity lately. Nevertheless, Wolf! |

Thanks for the support guys. I've also added a few more questions that n00bs usually ask. First post is now edited. @Meteor - Thanks for the PM to the mods. @shadow_z3r0 - Added that as Question 5. Thanks. @Coastalmixx - Thanks again for pinning. @RB26TT - Thanks for the input. Iro reverse in Japan has been fought out by both the MR2 and the Cappa. The evo3 is a good car but is ranked as 2nd best car in the map for a reason. The MR2 has a more stable exit but still has the tendency to hit the outside wall. Moreover, since the cappa has a smaller size, it can do the best inside line in a course which is made up of curves. I'm sure you've probably tried all three cars as did me. So if I cant decide, I base it on the rankings both english and japan. Japanese Rankings have the cappa as number 1, evo3 as 2nd and MR2 as 3rd best car. English rankings have the MR2 at number 1. evo3 as 2nd and cappa as 3rd. So we can say that the MR2 and Cappa can be tied as the course car. Still, based on all my experience in the game, I prefer the cappa on the UH. @razorsuKe - Thanks for the support, man. Sorry about the all caps but as somebody has pointed out, n00bs still miss out the stickies. If they see a thread with this title and all caps, n00b instinct would bring them in here. @KTX - Your question has been added as question number 6. @Phoenix_Cypher_K1 - Thanks, Phoenix. Missed that. Edited. @Retsuka - Negative .001. @iblizsatan - No. @J]-[UN - It depends on the map, man. Tsukuba IB is an exception for me because I use almost 2 or 3 PCs just to stabilize the R34. But as you already probably know, the best time to PC is after "riding the lock". This means that you turn really early so that when the lock hits, you're still on the inside. Ride it until you get a chance to PC and stabilize your car. There are exceptions though. There are maps which you have to "cancel" the lock early so you can get a better line. This applies to Tsukuba OB (particularly the last turn and the 3rd to the last turn). My theory is the less PCs you can do, the faster your time. It all depends on when you do it so you have to be efficient and experiment until you get the timing right. I used to do 2 PCs in the 2nd turn of Akina as well as the roller parts of Tsukuba IB. Now I only use one PC. @KenjiDc2 - Thanks. I remember ben or somebody else telling me to make a thread about that. I added it now. Its at question 8. |

Lol now this thread seriously owns. Props to you DamienWolf (One thing i've noticed, every time you edit the 1st post, the stupid names ie: Tak (Takumi) get added on longer and longer LOL) |

Should be better now, LOL! Guess Perry still hasnt fixed that thing. |

IIRC the FD like the AE86 Levin also has 2 different Roll Bars to choose from at Step 4 - one belonging to Keisuke, one belonging to Kyoko.
You should also note that DC2 gets 148. I'm not sure about R32 though but it should be the same as OB...
Cappu and AE85's top speed for DH and UH is 175 and 173 respectively
1) A few other cars also can reach 146 on 5th/6th gears in Iro at FT, Trueno, GDBF, and R34 at least all can. Just that unlike MR2, the speed doesn't go up to 147 immediately. 2) Cappu's max 4th for Iro DH is 145 as well. 3) Evo 3 can shift at 144 for 5th gear on Iro Rev. I do think that Evo 3 has home course boost for Iro Rev (accel wise). I think Trueno can get 144 for its max 4th gear as well at FT but I don't remember (been a while since I tried reverse with 86T). 4) Cappu's max 4th for Iro RV is 143.
Same for EK9 (OB), DC2 (IB), R34 (OB) and R32 (both ways?) I think that the AE85 shifts at the same speeds as Cappu (noticed this through TA vids on Youtube), at least on Akina....not sure about other courses. And for Lake Akina top speed...I noticed in the Youtube vids that the Evo9 starts overreving (although for a second) in lap 3 @ 216kph. Then the R34 Lake Akina vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn5fIlb291o, shows the R34 overreving (also for a second) in lap 3 @ 215kph. So I think we can conclude that: Evo9 top speed = 216 other cars = 215 capp/ae85 = 214 (this one i can't back up since there's no vids, I'm just assuming from a trend that Capp gets -1km/h from almost everything) |

@ phoenix cypher: i'm not too sure myself about the speed guides i PM-ed to wolf if they're still applicable/correct when you tune engine to step 7 first (as in 7-0-0-0-0) or not... those are based on the 1-1-1-1-1, 2-2-2-2-2, etc. tuning style i did for my GC8... please feel free to add information or make corrections when necessary, i just thought of contributing the speed guides because i always see people screwing up on when to shift up/down whenever i watch others play... |
Posted by: prismadiluce Dec 10 2007, 05:48 PM |
Just a typo I noticed. Since the Evo IX and the GDB-F are 6-gear cars, the overrevs you mentioned in Lake Akina course cars section are in 5th gears. Overall, nicely done WOLF. |

@Wolf: Can you include the approximate number of plays to FT a car? thanks |
Posted by: *j*j* Dec 10 2007, 07:06 PM |
well is 5 x 7 steps (internal tuning) = 35 x 6 ejects ( 3 ejects external and 3 ejects internal tuning) = 210 plays/ejects to FT ur car good luck in full tuning ur car juz mk sure u eject ur card after every single play ... # 1 card = 150 plays |

Phoenix_Cypher_K1 im having a ae85 levin FT now here's my info and research lake akina ure rite 214 top speed akagi uphill 141 4th gear.compare to fd3s 142 once shitted out no power for the car to counter compare to FD3S course car. akina downhill 3rd gear 123kph other cars 124,4th gear 143,other cars 144,5th gear max 175 other cars 176/n ae86 177 neither levin or trueno . irohazaka downhill looks same reverse 3rd gear 103, 4th gear 143 tsukuba inbound and outbound 4th gear 147..hik hik at least can keep up la with other cars except doing TA..hehe for your info ae85 lining just same as ae86 but since ae85 dont have the perfect body shape as that,it must counter fast to avoid butt ramming the wall..i love my ae85 when it farts the wastegate sound, hehe |

no, the language setting on the card must match the machine language setting. |

Wolf you say that capp lost 1kph compare to other cars is it only in TA or same when in store battle? what do you mean by full tune is it d engine tune or all 5 internal tune this is related to TA course cars? |
Posted by: Phoenix_Cypher_K1 Dec 30 2007, 12:46 AM |
Capp's max overrev which is -1km/h of most cars applies to all modes. It's just its weak accel. Full tune = All 5 internal tunes at step 7. |

yeah...but it run fast if u can do a lining that other cars cant do...which is a special lining only can a cappu do...but i still havent master it yet... |

Could you put in more in depth info. about PC. Whenever I see @D4 videos, the driver is able to have it's steering wheel fully turned and PC without having the huge oversteer that I get whenever I do the same. I'm thinking the way I PC is incorrect, any help? |
Posted by: *j*j* Jan 2 2008, 08:21 AM
bro tell me when do you PC ? my own explanation is: well at some corners u need to off gas b4 u enter, some u need to PC b4 entering n some u need to full gas ... after coming out from the corners n when the under happens u need to counter n PC but make sure u time your PC correctly when your steering comes out level/straight but just in case to be safe u PC another time if u do find your speed not going up ... and there are some corners u need to PC 1st b4 the under happens ... u need to specify which corner but with my explanation above i think u should be fine ... good luck ... |
Posted by: Weezy Jan 2 2008, 11:41 AM |
I PC when im about to reach the apex usually before the understeer occur. Hmm so when I get understeer when im turning, I must quickly counter steer. Does that mean a full turn to the other way? Do I PC right after the counter steer or when my steering wheel is straight? The corners I need help on is like Tsukuba OB CP4 and Akina consecutive turns on CP2 and CP3. |
Posted by: *j*j* Jan 2 2008, 07:03 PM |
well bro i thk u still have a long way to go in understanding that u don't PC at every corners b4 u enter ... for example on akagi dhd every corners u need to off gas b4 entering n not PC ... akina cp2 2nd corner u need to off gas 1st, shift gear in the middle of the corner n counter PC when u com out till your steering is level/straight ... the 5 cons corners on akina is 1st right wall rape coming out down shift counter n PC, 2nd left u PC in d middle n counter PC coming out, 3rd right PC in the middle down shift counter n PC coming out , 4th left full gas down shift in the middle counter n PC when coming out and when after u reach cp4 the right corner u off gas counter when the under happens n PC when your steering is level/straight ... i m not very good in Tsukuba OB but i do believe if u can execute the corners in akina u can be decent on almost every maps in v4 ... Hmm so when I get understeer when im turning, I must quickly counter steer. Does that mean a full turn to the other way? Do I PC right after the counter steer or when my steering wheel is straight? yes u do need to counter when under happens (but some like on akina uh after the death corner the big right corner after the left right left right u need to PC juz after the under happens) yes u need to turn the other way but of how much depends on your lining too ... the more u outline the more u lose track n speed ... so remember v4 techs requires a lot of tight linings ... u need to PC juz exactly when u counter after the under n while u r turning back your steering u need to time your accuracy of both your steering n PC ... as i said b4 all this u need plenty of practice n if after u PC n doesn't see your speed goes up than u quickly PC again ... i hope my 2 cents can help you in a certain way and i try my very best to assist you ... |

Posted by: *j*j* Jan 2 2008, 08:47 PM |
tq BDDEE@ i left out myogi ... i seldom play this map - averagely u need to PC 3 times at almost every corner in myogi b4, middle n after ... juz my 2 cents ... |
Posted by: RB26TT Jan 3 2008, 03:46 AM |
most practically to know ur pc works is on irohazaka uphill or reverse, remember wall raping needs to be good and counter as fast and pc,n linings some of the people told me i can made 2.48"xxx at iro reverse,in fact theory i can do that, but just i screwed up sometimes like today suppose to be 2.49"8xx end up 2.50"1xx well, today no luck, will try other day, playing ID4 n doing pc makes u sweat a lot aint it ? practice comes with sweat n exercise ur legs. |

Hey Wolf, mind adding this 403 guide to your well done FAQ credit for the first translation goes to shfta, I just updated with my experience and how to get to the menu with the IC Card Restoration option. Okay me and my friend experienced this 403 during renewing last night. The directions given on the first page of this thread are correct but missing one thing. Here's the true way of doing this process to make sure you don't lose your data. 1. During the 403 error message, open up the coin slot door and press the test button, during this time it looks like the game is reseting its self but it actually loads the test menu. 2. During the test menu, select the GAME TEST option. 3. The game now will boot once again into the game test menu. At this point, you will see the Select IC Card Restoration option. 4. Go ahead and select the IC Card Restoration option. 5. Choose the Access code (the one on the back of card) If is not there...you data is gone, when I did this myself, I noticed that there was more then just one access code, please make sure you verify the correct code on the back of your card. 6. After you found the code, select restore and press the test button 7. Insert you expired ID card 8. The Machine will say Finished Normally 9. Take your card out, exit the game test menu, then you will be brought back to the test menu that you first started with. Exit that and the game will reboot normally 10. Renew your card again, and after 2 minutes of renew time, you will have a brand new card with another 150 plays on it. Salamat! |

Haha..btw,anyone tht knw hw to clone id4 cards here?..XD i knw some of u guyz out there knw hw to clone ver3 cards.. |
Posted by: sdlahz Jan 13 2008, 09:57 PM
at e moment i dun tink such cloning of v4 cards exists... |
Posted by: *RAY Jan 14 2008, 07:58 AM |
actually i think can for id4. caues you guy know when error right, and the card can't be use anymore. step1- usually can restore back the card data by setting the machine step2- put card back to the machine step3- insert it in to rewrite again right. so i was thinking when you rewrite successfully. but you tell the people that working in the arcade that your data error.[of course lie] then ask them set back the thing den again go rewrite. then MAYBE YOU CAN CLONE A CARD. anyway that what i think. but so far i still haven't try. so if anyone have testes it out can leave a msg behind if it success. |
Posted by: sdlahz Jan 14 2008, 08:04 AM |
hmmm. really hors. u haf a point there. guess someone close to e techicians at their arcades wanna check it out? but wldn't this encourage cheating? |
Posted by: himura battousai Jan 14 2008, 07:25 PM |
Yea..i think they can cloned a card cuz the mac keeps the last card data tht played..so whn we insert a blank card,it will overwrite the data again..i think so..hehe..XD |
Posted by: DamienWolf Jan 15 2008, 04:51 AM
You cant. Once you restore the data, your data is no longer inside the machine. I tried this scenario. I actually did an error 403 on purpose so I can have my data in the machine. Your expired card will be ejected and the data will be saved in the machine. BUT YOUR DATA IS NO LONGER IN THE CARD. Its in the machine. And once you restore your data, YOUR DATA WILL NO LONGER BE IN THE MACHINE but back in the card. Do you guys understand? |
Posted by: sdlahz Jan 15 2008, 08:43 AM |
n 1 more thing wolf, today i got e 403 error. n i tried getting e technician to use a new card to restore my old data. but e machine rejects e new card as e card code as found on e back of e expired card doesn't match. so it's safe to presume tat cards cloning in v4 is quite impossible. |
Posted by: Fuzz Jan 15 2008, 03:06 PM |
Lets put it this way for the data flow during a card renew process. 1. Data gets taken from the old card and stored temporarily on the machines, ready to be transferred to the new card. 2. Ejects old card with 'expired' on it 3. Attempts to put the data on the new card but fails and displays error 403 4. Tech manually puts the data on the new card, by various methods including rebooting the arcade machine itself 5. Data gets transferred successfully and you get ur new card. Successful data transfer is all the above except 3 and 4. The data is only needed to be stored temporarily and not long lasting where you can get CKF's data when he has done a card renewal so they do not and did not intended for a large hard drive to store all the info. |
Posted by: himura battousai Jan 15 2008, 06:43 PM
"Yea..i think they can cloned a card cuz the mac keeps the last card data tht played..so whn we insert a blank card,it will overwrite the data again..i think so..hehe..XD" Tht wht i told in my previous post..izzit true..???..hmm..i'll might try it later.. |
Posted by: BDDEE@ Jan 16 2008, 07:23 AM |
has anyone tried....the v3 way im quite interested to see if it works but not willing to try |
Posted by: DamienWolf Jan 16 2008, 07:49 AM
I wanted to try it but it cant be done. The card reader isnt the same. You barely have space to reach in and pull out the card. And to pull it, you have to push it back towards the eject slot. Renewing basically has this procedure. - You insert the card to be renewed. - The machine "takes" the data (it will no longer be on the card) and spits out the expired card. The data will still be on the machine so in case the error 403 will occur or in case of power failure, the machine can store up to 5 data. - When everything is going smoothly. It takes a blank card and writes the data it saved onto it. When it writes the data to the card, it transfers the data and will no longer have it saved on its memory so you cant clone it that way. To clone back in Ver3, you have to yank the card while its inspecting at the proper timing. You cant do that with Ver4 because if you yank the card, its instant error. But with ver3 it will still be inspecting. (NOTE: For those who know how to clone in ver3, in IDAS4 the machine asks you to pay the credits first even before the renewal takes place. So you should know that the process we used back in ver3 cant be done. ) |
Posted by: BDDEE@ Jan 16 2008, 08:19 AM
so if you re insert the card will the error message stay up? not much point really even answering that because the 2nd part of your post proves that duping cant be done |
Posted by: DamienWolf Jan 16 2008, 09:13 AM
I'll still answer it. If you insert the same card, the error will disappear. Insert another card and the error will still be there. |
Posted by: himura battousai Jan 16 2008, 06:36 PM |
Ver3 card cloning is acctually same as wangan card cloning i suppose..bt ver3 clonong need a perfect time to pull out the card..if nt,card jam..adios..wekeke.. |
Posted by: DamienWolf Jan 16 2008, 09:54 PM
Errr no. Its not the same as wangan cloning. One major difference is that you have to have the card reader open to facilitate a dupe in ver3. In wangan you just need tape. |

Posted by: Mist Jan 31 2008, 02:24 PM |
Well since I found out about racegame.org and am personally Chinese, I've read up about some of the stuff. One thing I think we should add is which tuning mainly upgrades category. Engine: Max Speed Exhaust: Acceleration Suspension: Reduce Under-steering Body: Reduce speed penalty from crashing ECU: Reduce speed penalty from turning No matter which tune you add, they all contribute to your car one way or another. They're not constricted to just upgrading one category. I think that each tune upgrades each category by different amounts. For example: - Tuning the engine makes the most obvious upgrade to the top speed while affecting a little bit of the others as well - Tuning the intake/exhaust makes the most obvious upgrade to the acceleration while affecting a little bit of the others as well But most important is what's already in the 1st post I guess.... Don't worry *too* much about tuning and just get to full tune. However I think it's not *always* an option for some people, especially people in Canada or in the States where they just got their machines within the past few months and it's still pretty expensive to play. |

Posted by: lester7c Feb 18 2008, 03:04 AM |
sorry i'll try to find that.. |
Posted by: angelmoa Feb 20 2008, 12:32 AM |
i dont think engine or intake actually improves any specific thing (eg, speed or power or accel) it just does what the description says... so IMHO, 2 ecu is vital when you first start your car... it should take precedence over everything else.... Why? cause it improves acceleration as per the desciption... If you dont believe me, try it with any car... you'll notice your acceleration improves by a godly amount |
Posted by: DamienWolf Feb 20 2008, 05:01 AM |
Nope. If you notice if you're using a stock car, for example you've got a 140 kph top speed of your 4th gear on Akina DH. Once you get 2 steps on the engine, your top speed increases by 140.5kph. You'll see it blip a little. Your top speed (and your accleration) improves with the engine and the intake. If you follow what the Hong Kong forums say, ECU fixes and lowers the speed loss when you do a turn. But in my opinion, It doesnt matter what you start. AGAIN, I specify that you can start with handling for all I care. What matters is that you FT in the end. Thats the important thing. |

Posted by: clown321 Jun 2 2008, 02:09 AM
hmm ... what do you mean by 5in 4 out? but i do see some improvement on the acceleration after doing that when needed. |
Posted by: shenny93 Jun 5 2008, 02:41 AM |
in the previous versions.. we have to enter some of the corners at 5th gear/6th gear depending on the car you use... and then down gear back to 4th/5th gear to gain speed... but in ver4.. you don't have to do that.. just break and down gear |
Posted by: clown321 Jun 6 2008, 06:22 PM |
that stranger whom i met and does that right, told me that do that after corners. like if the car bangs onto a wall right the acceleration will somehow drop. then he did down&up gear to gain speed. for example you are in gear 5. what he did was he push it down to gear 4, then push it back to gear 5 again. but it is needed to do fast |
Posted by: xyeohts Jun 6 2008, 07:09 PM |
so clown321 so ur saying like the technique those guys use in V3? i most probably found a technique to kill Oversteer and maintain speed.. when u oversteer, PC quickly and remain calm and composed.. (so far worked for my EG6 aka small butt but not on my S15) confirm this with me please.. XD |
Posted by: Gunma's 34 Jun 9 2008, 02:54 AM |
to clown321 to answer that... sorta... works on some, doesn't on some. I use it... helps after exiting a corner on my point of view... especially on consecutive ones like Myogi, Akina, Tsukuba... in my experience, works best at Iro... |
Posted by: clown321 Jun 9 2008, 05:26 AM |
oh btw can somebody tell me whats PC again? i kinda forget it after 1.5 has come out >.< |
Posted by: shyguy_01 Jun 9 2008, 06:22 AM
penalty cancel... read the threadd written by wolf "everything you need to know..." and you dont need to PC in 1.5 anyways edit: i just realized we are already in this thread lmao, clown read the firt post... |
Posted by: RooP Jun 9 2008, 07:29 AM
lol. the stranger is pro. but if hes right, did you see people doing that often?? |
Posted by: shenny93 Jun 9 2008, 07:42 AM
well erm.. u still have to PC in 1.5 for tsuku.. OB and IB.. PC to avoid the oversteer.. like tsukuba OB.. at the roller coasters.. u'll need to PC at the lock points back in 1.2 to avoid the oversteer and speed lost.. but i don't think you would need PC in other roads |
Posted by: clown321 Jun 9 2008, 10:48 AM
so when do we do the PC? it says after turn but thats ver 1.2 for ver1.5 we have to BRAKE first.
eh ... he did that sometimes |
Posted by: Kylie_FD3S Jun 9 2008, 03:06 PM |
This helped a lot. I know said I retired but I just couldn't help it! I had to give ID4 a try. |
Posted by: Bu`DoNg Jun 9 2008, 04:17 PM
ur post.... makes me speechless.... whats the timing ran by the guy who did that ? is it fast? if its not. i dun really see the point in trying to believe that choking of gear works. and when u got the oversteer problem, it has already been decided that ur timing wun be considered as fast in any case le. cos from that point onwards, the acceleration that you will have wouldnt be as fast as u have before the oversteering took place. somehow i find ur mentality to the game.... weird big car bang wall easier, choke gear recovered the acceleration... simply...weird if it is that effective as u say, i dun see any pros using it right ? |
Posted by: jiahao1001 Jun 9 2008, 04:31 PM |
I only choke gear after i bang wall... basically its for shits and giggles cos theres nothing better to do other than force quit ^^ and normally the speed drops so much that a gear drop is necessary.... but then again your timings would have been much faster if u braked earlier and didnt hit the walls or kena the penalty... For tsukuba OB u have to PC just before the first right turn of the S corners then PC again as you are about to exit the last right turn.... should be a 135 exit with a fted car unless if u can do it faster than please show us cos the japanese are already at 140 exits already ^^ gd luck |
Posted by: shenny93 Jun 10 2008, 07:07 AM
that is almost what i said... but clown said for 1.5 we have to BRAKE!! =.= |
Posted by: clown321 Jun 11 2008, 05:18 AM |
LOL. i saw one vid on DC2 ... tsukuba with 2.45 timing i think. forgotten that vid alr. i'll post it in the video thread. |
Posted by: jiahao1001 Jun 12 2008, 12:17 AM |
The vid is a 2 47... i doubt there a 2 45 DC2 vid that even exists yet... haha |
Posted by: iblizsatan Jun 12 2008, 12:44 AM |
hello, i juz wanna ask,i quit ID4 about 2month ago. so..recently i started playing again...but evrytime i insert my IC card...there's on screen messge sayin somethin bout rewritten record on card ver 1.5... wat does it mean actually??? i'm totally blur... |
Posted by: clown321 Jun 12 2008, 02:00 AM
LOL. a DC2 with that timing is alr quite good? like you all said that car is crappy -.- |
Posted by: Gunma's 34 Jun 12 2008, 02:06 AM |
@ iblizsatan I think I know what you're asking. You must have your IC card from v 1.2 It means that your time attack records at v 1.5 are separate from the v 1.2 records. They won't overlap. example: make a record in v 1.5 on a certain track play a v 1.2 ID4, if there are any and check your time on that track. you should see NOT your v 1.5 record time... the record time should be different |
Posted by: shenny93 Jun 12 2008, 02:32 AM
yeahh i think it's a decent timing for DC2 and for normal standards.. good find!! =D @gunma.. ermm.. after making records in 1.5... your 1.2 records will be overlapped already what.. not mer? |
Posted by: DamienWolf Jun 12 2008, 10:30 AM
Welcome back to the dark side, Kylie! Good to know this thread helped. Im taking a little breather from the game but I'll be active here in the forums if you need any help. And guys, if you have any questions and you cant find it in this thread or my techs and terms thread... there is an "Ask a question, get an answer" thread out there. Please post those questions there. Also remember that I havent updated any stuff in my tips threads for ver1.5. Might do that when I have the time. School's up and I'm getting back to work. Also my wife and my daughter are taking up almost all my time, I rarely have time to play but I'm not quitting. Just slowing down. |
Posted by: Kylie_FD3S Jun 12 2008, 05:06 PM
Ahh...the dark side. My boyfriend even got excited over Ver4. We both played it while in Reno last weekend. |
Posted by: RooP Jun 12 2008, 05:41 PM
if you play 1.5 after from 1.2, records will be replaced. on the other hand, if you go back to play 1.2 after playing 1.5, the records will be replace too. |
Posted by: DamienWolf Jun 12 2008, 07:13 PM |
- Post has now been updated with new stuff. Well old stuff we know before not included here that I kinda noticed new people keep asking over and over again. - Added a question about Error 403 - Added a question about transition from 1.2 to 1.5 and vice versa. (Thanks RooP for answering shenny's question) - Added Kylie's question about shift points (Thanks to Bu Dong for answering that to the new people) - Added the FD's optional roll bar to the "ID shit list". Added the Evo3 as another course car for Iro Rev. - Modified a few questions here and there. Maybe I should update the tech thread as well... hmm... Dont know if there's a need to. |
Posted by: shyguy_01 Jun 12 2008, 07:15 PM |
thanks wolf, good stuff! as for the tech thread, i think you can just keep that as the 1.2 stuff and maybe add some things for 1.5, although i think all there is is braking >_> i could be wrong but i cant think of any techniques |
Posted by: iblizsatan Jun 13 2008, 03:16 AM |
thanx Gunma's 34... btw....ver 1.5 surely different from ver 1.2.... soo....errr...i juz wanna ask... what r the "differences" between ver1.2 and ver1.5.... can't spot any...except no PC's |
Posted by: shenny93 Jun 13 2008, 04:40 AM |
there will be penalties when you don't break at the right time or when you don't break enough.. oversteers will kick in when you get the penalty.. massive lost of speed will occur too.. |
Posted by: Gunma's 34 Jun 13 2008, 05:19 AM
Basically, that is what I noticed. There IS still penalty... PC won't recover it... Braking helps... Kenta is still crappy. Myogi AI are now easier to kick ass with. If you got the timing right... You can break your ver 1.2 records/make better TA records. I'm just waiting for the feature of - custom paint job - make-your-own team sticker feature that came out already in the Japanese ID4 Kai version. That's what I noticed. try and Ask wolf for differences... he might know more... glad I could help. |
Posted by: Kylie_FD3S Jun 13 2008, 09:23 PM |
Thanks for the help guys. I don't want to get too technical with ver4. I just want to play for fun. That's all. Psh...I say this now...next thing u know, I'm asking a whole bunch of questions like, "when and where do I brake?" Hahaha...we'll see... |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Jun 14 2008, 02:06 AM |
So WOLF, aren't you gonna make a new FAQ, seeing that Version 1.5 has changed alot of the gameplay and stuff? |
Posted by: DamienWolf Jun 21 2008, 07:09 AM
I'll probably make one in a few more days. I think everyone's got the hang of the game anyway. |
Posted by: clown321 Jun 25 2008, 01:56 AM
Nah. I alws see young and old ppl play in one arcade of SG, and they don even know what caused the oversteer. oh wells. but i think that if you make the thread, newbies will be able to get the basics right. |
Posted by: pol_southside Jun 25 2008, 08:10 AM
if they are just playing for fun... its not worth it to teach them whatever... just let them be if they dunno what caused an oversteer or whatever.. if they ask questions then that's the time you answer.. mind each other's bizwax... remember that not all people play this game seriously... although nothing stops us from teaching others... but u cant always expect that they'll play 'that' serios.. dude you're not only the one seeing things... sometimes i even see a father-and-son bonding thru initial d... they're just having fun so there's nothing to teach... |
Posted by: shenny93 Jun 26 2008, 06:03 AM |
lols.. agreed totally with u dude... |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Jul 2 2008, 04:34 AM |
hey, can i just ask a quick question here?(: erm, is there any way that we can change the car colour? cos i got a white FD, and now im starting to think that yellow's kinda cool. (i didnt pick it cos i thought everybody had yellow lol) thanks(: |
Posted by: pol_southside Jul 2 2008, 08:09 AM
I think the Japanese version has this feature... International(or English) does not have one... |
Posted by: Weezy Jul 2 2008, 06:26 PM |
Yea the jap has custom colors...I saw a white capp in a vid =O If your on international can't change color =/ |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Jul 2 2008, 10:59 PM |
arrghh that sucks. why do we always get their leftovers): stupid sega. make the game for their own people(japs) and leave us with second grade stuff. |
Posted by: shenny93 Jul 4 2008, 04:29 AM |
yeahhh... everyone is pissed about it but what can we do?? complains have been made and nothing happen |
Posted by: Gunma's 34 Jul 4 2008, 06:18 AM |
I know what happened!! this process: we play... we complain... we send it to SEGA... they read... they don't give a damn... they throw... we get pissed... they went to their own lives... solution... REVOLT!! DOWN WITH THE GOV'T!! ANTI-POVERTY!! |
Posted by: DamienWolf Jul 4 2008, 07:04 PM |
Please stop spamming on this thread. Next time out I'll be giving verbal warnings. There's an Ask a question, get an Answer thread. You can post those questions there. Post here for anything regarding the FAQ, thank you. |

Posted by: -ShinRei- Jul 21 2008, 01:23 AM |
I've known all that already..I should've seen it before..*Sigh* Especially The Tuning Parts.. |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Jul 21 2008, 06:00 AM |
hey wolf, i saw this before, but i wasn't sure then, so i checked, and...isn't Keisuke/Takumi in Tsukuba 9/10 Stars? LOL. i finally remembered to check. in the japanese site lol. http://initiald.sega.jp correct me if im wrong, thanks |
Posted by: Red_Liger Jul 21 2008, 03:34 PM |
Quick question, do u think my ID license that i got from california will work in the Philippines? |
Posted by: Weezy Jul 21 2008, 06:48 PM |
Marc: Yea there in Tsukuba, both 10 stars I think. Red Liger: Yea your license will work in any Ver4 machines except the Japanese one. There's the Japanese and International version. So if you see English on it, you can use it. |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Jul 21 2008, 11:04 PM |
no, i wasn't asking if keisuke & takumi were in tsukuba, lol. i was asking : aren't they 9 stars? (outta 10) i mean, i didnt really notice in the machine, but at the japanese website it says that they are 9 stars http://initiald.sega.jp/ind_ac4/chara06.html |
Posted by: Weezy Jul 21 2008, 11:52 PM |
lol is it 9 stars? i thought it was 10 =/ |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Jul 21 2008, 11:59 PM |
im also unsure lol, since i dont really take note. but according to the JAP website, Keisuke & Takumi = 9/10 Stars |
Posted by: toookoooldrew118 Jul 23 2008, 01:07 AM |
kisuke and takumi are 9 stars only bunta is 10 stars |
Posted by: shenny93 Jul 24 2008, 12:08 AM |
maybe the jap vers and our vers are not the same physics might not be totally the same too |
Posted by: xyeohts Jul 24 2008, 08:15 PM |
i thought everything is the same.. its only the level.. the higher to go the more difficult it gets.. doesnt matter with the stars.. ??? |
Posted by: toookoooldrew118 Jul 24 2008, 09:51 PM
stars just show how difficult they are compared to the rest. like bunta is 10 star and itsuki is 1 star. it just gives ppl who dont know a way to tell how fast they are. |

Questions: do choosing car with specific drive train (FR or 4WD) calls for change in driving style (ie: accel timing, braking timing)? because for me they all feel the same (sliding like crazy). thanks |
Posted by: Kazuki Aug 8 2008, 11:35 PM |
There is a bit of a difference, but mostly how they feel. My 86 feels very slippery, but my cappu doesn't feel nearly as slippery. In fact, my friend (who normally drives a DC2) said the 86 felt totally out of control to him, because it slides so easily. So there is a difference, but mostly in the way they feel when you're turning. |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Aug 9 2008, 08:21 AM |
if im not wrong, different layouts(FR,FF,4WD) all need different timings for turning, (as in where/when you turn) this is probably the most obvious in irohazaka, with its "abundance" in turns |
Posted by: -ShinRei- Aug 14 2008, 10:46 PM
Really?!I don't think there's difference though.. |
Posted by: spyke543 Aug 15 2008, 03:37 PM |
I have a question about taking corners. I'm still new to this version, btw. I've seen several vids where I noticed that the cars are like, staring at the apex of the corner during turns. Wouldn't this slow the car down? If not, is there benefit in doing this? For reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tluDieennM EDIT: Sorry if I was supposed to ask this in the Q&A thread. |
Posted by: Weezy Aug 16 2008, 01:23 AM |
^ To minimize speed loss through corner. That's very good line to use in Tsukuba OB. |
Posted by: -ShinRei- Aug 16 2008, 03:22 AM
Really?!What's Apex anyway? All I know now is that Apex is our Administrator.. |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Aug 16 2008, 09:00 AM |
Apex = Sharpest Point Of The Curve (its quite hard to explain LOL.) [sorry i tried drawing a curve thingy using Xs for the road and *s for the apex but it didnt work cos all the spaces were deleted for some reason -.- and it turned out like a mess of Xs] so, i made this(: |
Posted by: spyke543 Aug 16 2008, 11:29 AM
So would this apply to every course as well? |
Posted by: Weezy Aug 16 2008, 03:10 PM |
Shinrei: lol i laughed. im surprised you don't know apex when you play racing game. Marc: that is pro picture right there lmao. spyke: Pretty much. Watch TA vids on all courses...soak in the lines. |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Aug 16 2008, 06:20 PM |
haha lawl. thanks=D btw, all pics are here: http://www.gallery.tsukaeru.jp/ #1 just click "go to gallery" (duh!) #2 click any mountain(: 秋名山(榛名山) = akina 赤城山 = akagi 碓氷峠 = usui 妙義山 = myogi 正丸峠 = shomaru いろは坂 = irohazaka and for some maps that are not in that site, go to : http://realside-d.com/ |

Damien wolf here's ajnother noob question: What are the cheats to obtain the hidden cards in ID 4? |
Posted by: -ShinRei- Aug 19 2008, 09:32 PM |
I think there are no cheat car like Bunta's in V3..M.R Damien Wolf,You should include this on 1st Post.. |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Aug 20 2008, 03:17 AM
there are no longer any "hidden" cars like Bunta's GC8V, right now the only "extra" cars are those added in the v1.5 patch: -Toyota Altezza [SXE10] -Mazda RX8 [SE3P] -Mazda MX5 Roadster [NA6CE] |
Posted by: -ShinRei- Aug 20 2008, 07:14 PM
Are they really cheat cars?!I thought that they'd make appearance already since the beginning of the game.. I started playing in 1.1 if I'm not wrong, maybe 1.2..There's RX-8 already.. |
Posted by: Weezy Aug 20 2008, 07:56 PM |
Those aren't cheat cars. They "added" those in the Jap version. International already had it. |
Posted by: -ShinRei- Aug 20 2008, 08:28 PM |
Nah,see? Thought so,LOL! |
Posted by: MonkeyMarc Aug 21 2008, 04:24 AM |
oh yeah sorry lol. it was their way of "making up" for all the stuff we didnt have, ...turns out Japs get them too freaking SEGA. but they arent cheat cars, there are good cars, but no cheaty ones=D v1. = FD v2. = DC2 v3. = RX8 v4. = balanced (not totally, but it improved) |
Posted by: Weezy Aug 21 2008, 06:39 PM |
Surprised the Trueno isn't top car for all versions lolz. |
Posted by: -ShinRei- Aug 21 2008, 08:15 PM
LOL!I think Trueno is in V4.. |
Posted by: Cappuccino, 2 sugars Aug 21 2008, 08:45 PM
S2K IMO i just dont drive mine because everyone else does |
Posted by: -ShinRei- Aug 21 2008, 10:27 PM
You mean You didn't use AP1?They should made V5:AE85...LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! |
Posted by: Weezy Aug 21 2008, 11:06 PM
Yea the Trueno is top but this version is more balanced so it's not pure god car like the other versions. |
Posted by: shenny93 Aug 22 2008, 06:00 AM |
in the previous versions. trueno is only good on akina dhd that's all =x |
Posted by: Weezy Aug 22 2008, 06:06 PM
Oops yea. I meant not god cars compared to RX8, DC2, etc. |
Posted by: -ShinRei- Aug 22 2008, 06:15 PM
In ID5 I hope they would make one again..It's hell in ID3 when I use My Spirit FD against a RX-8 in Tsuchisaka.. |
Posted by: *-YuE-* Aug 24 2008, 08:23 AM |
well.. all i can say is there is no such thing as top car or best car in any version... after all its all depend on your skill... skill is the one that makes the different of playing... cheers |
Posted by: genezel Sep 12 2008, 08:59 AM |
Uhh... one question... I have an RX-8 and I'm lovin' it! However I dunno how I should tune it initially... is it 7-7-0-0-7 or 7-0-7-7-0? This kind of tuning really helps a lot... thanks DamienWolf! Helped me with my S2000... was able to beat the tough opponents in LOTS... |
Posted by: Bu`DoNg Sep 12 2008, 09:39 PM |
dun really need to bother how the way u wanna tune ur car..cos eventually u still need to get it to 7-7-7-7-7 in order to run the full potential of the car. lol. |
Posted by: Maikeru Sep 12 2008, 10:28 PM |
Only reason why Trueno appears to be top is because everybody uses it. IMO most cars are balanced. |
Posted by: genezel Sep 12 2008, 11:24 PM
yeah I know I need to reach 7-7-7-7-7 for its full potential but as I said in my last post, the way that DamienWolf recommended the 7-7-0-0-7 (for good handling/bad accel cars) and the 7-0-7-7-0 (for bad handling/good accel cars) was a huge help for me when I was using my S2000... I was wondering which of the two set-ups should I follow for my RX-8 before I reach 7-7-7-7-7 |
Posted by: jiahao1001 Sep 13 2008, 01:59 AM |
genezel: Rx8 acceleration is pretty good already in stock so u might wanna max out engine and the suspension b4 the rest if u dont wanna follow the 7to7 route |
Posted by: genezel Sep 13 2008, 04:02 AM |
ayt cool! thanks jiahao1001. full tuned my S2000 btw... got bored with it so I went back to my original card... the RX-8 with a fat avatar... hehe... so I'll go with the 7-0-7-7-0 before ultimately ending up with 7-7-7-7-7 for my RX-8... THANKS!!! |
Posted by: DamienWolf Sep 14 2008, 06:01 AM |
Well, glad I helped you out but like I --- and all of them said --- its the fastest you get to 7-7-7-7-7 that is more important. |
Posted by: genezel Sep 14 2008, 09:32 AM |
Yeah 7-7-7-7-7 is my ultimate goal of course but I'll stick with the 7-0-7-7-0 set-up first while making my way to 7-7-7-7-7. Thanks DamienWolf for this cool suggestion! |

Just an idea: I think it should be pointed out that the NA6CE is now at the top of the Jap Akagi Downhill TA rankings for both conditions.
My guess is that the NA is running a better CP3 and 4 than the FC. |

heyy guys! what's the fastest speed to exit the V turn DH? |
Posted by: clown321 Nov 30 2008, 04:15 AM |
sorry for asking this noob question ... whats counter-steer? |
Posted by: pol_southside Nov 30 2008, 08:43 AM
steer - turn the wheel in normal direction of the turn countersteer - turn the wheel opposite the direction of the turn |
Posted by: lester7c Dec 27 2008, 03:07 PM
yea, hyena is right.. the purpose of that is to stabilize the car and avoid grinding into the inside line. |

oh i see ... a million thanks (: |

Posted by: pukpukracer May 10 2009, 02:11 AM |
what does it take to whip the car around 180 degrees for courses like Irohazaka and Akina? In ver.3 it took a heavy brake and a quick change of gear, but I keep losing to Kai because my FD3S doesn't seem to whip round corners like the MR2 does; I keep hitting the rails or losing speed because I braked too hard. Is it brake tap --> turn-->brake and countersteer + PC ? I whip the steering wheel round, but the car seems to stop at 90 degrees.... |

I'll answer two. The R32 and R34 do not lose their course car speed advantages in battle. 5 year reply ftw! I figured its already been so long you guys deserve an answer. I'll keep the last car to myself hahaha! [ Post made via Mobile Device ] |
