Well I noticed when IDV4 came out the community slowly died out and everyone went to Wangan (In Montreal anyways...)...

My question is to those who have it in their city... Did ID5 breathe new life in the once stale community? Or are the physics turning people off? Is it competitive? Is battling still "the IT thing"?

well in singapore it's mainly the kids playing Wangan. so the crowd basically didn't move over to ID5. but i still see an increase in the number of people playing ID5...

battle wise i didn't see much too because i always tend to go play at 'non-peak hours'. but that's what i saw though. laugh.gif

It was 11am at G4, and 5 people were around the machine at once. That's pretty high compared to the V4 days, where you could go round after round with nobody sitting next to you period.

Pity they didnt link the machines for matches yet. woudla been so much higher then.

just a guess, but maybe the machines need to be disconnected for the new "patch", implying it could be soon.

tbh i think the arcade community as a whole is dying out.

from what i observe, even games like tekken 6 do not have as big a community as before, where arcades would be crowded with barely any walking space.

could be something to do with the bad economy...

well... a fair portion left witohut going to Wangan.

Even those who went to Wangan... i don't see them being addicted to Wangan as much as the old ID Ver series.

some of them are back though... it remains to see if we can really get the momentum going again. but at least i see more fresh faces trying out the game and playing it.

Actually, if Sega was fair to us International Players, ID will surely pawn MT, with more features regarding ID.NET, Nationwide Battle, etc. But then again it might not be =\

well.. MT functions are standalone on the cab. dont need any external networks and such.

external networks can do cool stuff like ID.NET and such. but the implementation especially away from home base (read International) is a very very big headache
