Yeah, thanks for giving us the much needed breakdown of what I said. I was being too cryptic when I said I was quoting N1. We need quality play by play.

I'm fucking annoyed as shit. I've finally found the bug up my ass to want to get a new car, deciding I want an SN197 Mustang GT. Found a local listing on FB Marketplace for a slate gray 2006 Mustang GT, 5-speed manual transmission, single owner, 55k miles, $10,800. Everything I could ever find in the perfect used car buy. I message the person Sunday, and then again Monday; it's Friday, and I still haven't heard back.

Like, fucking hell. If you're gonna sell shit, be active and don't let buyers hang, because you're losing out with yourself. NO GHOSTING.

Speaking of ghosting...

Welcome back.

I agree that when it comes to CL people, the #1 thing I hate is people not responding to their own ads. The #2 thing I hate is people who say they're not available until a certain day, set up a meeting with you, and then sell it out from under you the day before they're supposedly available. The #3 thing I hate is people who don't take their fucking ad down once it sells.

Basically, people who waste a buyer's time are scumbags. If you want to sell something, for god sake's just put some effort in so the transaction can go smoothly.

You all put too much trust on CL. CL is like the lowest tier - you use it cuz it's the cheapest way to sell/buy things. And, you have to suffer the higher levels of cruft as a result.

I might've just gotten lucky, because both times I was interested in cars on CL, I was able to get them within 2 days of contacting the seller. But, I go into these things fully not expecting it to go anywhere. It's like sowing seeds. You just throw them out, and whatever ends up growing grows.

I've been avoiding CL for the most part the past few years... Actually, the last vehicle I bought off CL was my old DSM.

Evo VIII - Dealer
Evo IX - Friend
Jetta GLI - Friend
Touareg - ebay, contacted seller and made deal via phone

That's not to say that you can't have a reasonable transaction with people off CL, but it's just a lot less likely. People seem to really go there when they get to the point where they want something gone.

Although I looked on Craigslist for a car, I've always kept much of my searches to Facebook Marketplace, since listings were more numerous there and new ones more frequent. And even the sketchiest cars seemed like less sketchy listings on FBMP compared to CL.

Actually got in touch with someone selling his 2005 Mustang GT yesterday, and I'm waiting to hear back today about a look-see visit for tomorrow. It's really nice, and it's built for track/autocross; he's selling it for $10,500, but it's gotta have twice as much in mods on it, at least. I'm almost sold on it, but I want to see it in person before making an ultimate decision.

Who knows, if all looks well, it might be mine in a week or two.

I went to CL for both of my motorcycles. Worked out until I fell, but CL didn't cause that.

Bought both my Zs on Craigslist, bought the Maverick on Craigslist, bought the Integra from Craigslist. The only cars I didn't get from Craigslist either came from within the family (Legacy, Capri) or were bought before Craigslist was a thing (SVX).

I hate Craigslist like I hate Windows. I use it a lot, I'm not going to stop, but using it just means I recognize where the flaws are and try my best to work around them.

AMD and Intel could've released 18+ core processors, but the questions you need to ask yourself are:
1. Did your life change or did your workload suddenly skyrocket because of that?
2. Would your existing workload benefit from 4x more cores?

I'd expect the answer to both of those to be "no". Applications that can efficiently utilize 18 cores are few. Many applications don't even use 4 cores.

What's the point of paying half a million dollars for a Ferrari to either drive around in residential roads or to sit in rush hour traffic in?

Save your money for some good sushi.

Places you typically find a Ferrari for $500, Alex.

If you do a lot of video encoding, 18+ cores would be very advantageous (provided the software supports so many cores).

Why would I spend 500$ for sushi? And why Ferrari instead of Koenigsegg? tongue.gif
