Was just going to post that, but you redeemed yourself.

With that being said, other components might fail earlier due to higher current draw ( connectors tend to get brittle from heat ).

Nah. Even at 100 watts were still only looking at 8.3 amps of draw (watts = volts x amps. We know the watts is 100 and the volts is 12, so 100/12=8.3 amps. and this isnt for you moby tongue.gif this is for anyone else who might be wondering how i got to what i did). Even with only moderately "happy" wiring youd be fine. 8.3 amps will only be an issue on any head-light wiring system im aware of if something else is already seriously wrong.
