From what i heard, more points makes you go faster when you reach an upgrade point (ex: Reset ECU, oil change, ect) Ver. 1 Basic tune - 60,000 pts Full tune - 465,000 pts Ver. 2 and 3 Basic tune - 120,000 pts Full tune - 990,000 pts but once you reach a full tune there is no reason to play just for points because your car will not acelerate any faster, even if you get 1,000,000 more points. what i do now is just run time trials to improve my technique and line... also you can buy parts for you car in versions of initial D other than one, some people say it helps ALOT but others say it doesn't make a difference. how i see it, the player's skill counts alot more than the speed of the car  | ||

(Everycar needs skills, not always speed) Points help your car go faster, but as soon as you reach 990000, then thats it! In my point of view, the buntamobile is a cool car....with that box engine sound and the speed it takes on corners....! |

Very few tune ups make a difference, Such as the Trueno's engine. But body pieces or anything external of the such makes none what so ever, The game uses actual parts and they cant make one better then the other or theyd offend the companies of those parts. As to how fast the car is, its great. To put it simply its the jack of all trades, it does great on all courses but wont be able to beat a high skilled course king. Hope that answers some of your questions. |
