I dont know a lot about the reliability of the JDM cars. I do know the engine internals are better (hypereutectic cast pistons and rods vs our just regular cast ones) 2.0L vs 2.5L Open deck vs Semi closed deck I would think the JDM would be better for longevity, the open deck would mean that I would be wary of pushing a lot of boost through it though. Havent come across of too many spun bearings on them, I joined a Aussie Liberty forum to see what people have done to them and am happy to see plenty of higher mileage ones. Mobius: Ahh yes completely forgot to look into those, thanks! This post has been edited by Lonely_Driver on Aug 5 2015, 05:33 AM

Drove the piss out of it last night and today, hasn't ran this well is a LONG time. EDIT: Needs to survive some winter RallyX now and hopefully a trip to compete against the SpazEVO next year. So do I take the worn out winter tires off my stock rims and put them on these and try to win the local rally cross series? |

Took her for a pretty good boot on the highways and on/off ramps for the first time since I swapped out the OCV and oil change. Pulls pretty good, turbo whine might be a little louder than usual but I dont know could be just in my head. Still on the fence about parking it for the winter as for some odd reason its been running perfect for a while now http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/...mt-46024p6.html Scroll down to post #88 and on What I would like to accomplish if I can afford to park and buy another daily all at the same time of paying off debt, saving up for a trip next year and get the fucking civic race ready This post has been edited by Lonely_Driver on Aug 22 2015, 08:50 PM |

Fix coolant leak off of water pump, I think the factory shitty squeeze type hose clamp is just weak. Dis one Besides that everything is running fine, I bought a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator and will be welding that on ASAP. Now as the body goes, I'm getting that JDM quarter rust again. I plan on keeping this car for as long as I can so I will be fixing it. Now do I go wide body? or Flares? I'm sure with my skillz I can easily make some sort of rocket bunny flares work or an easier alternative is Ebay 240sx fender flares. Thats the cheap part. Its getting a proper wheel and tire combo thats going to be the exspensive part. |

You have 9" wheels with 245's right? How is the stretch? EDIT: Just priced out 17x9 RPF1's and 245/40 Michelin supersports $2500 CAD Could get a short block for that much. This post has been edited by Lonely_Driver on Oct 14 2015, 04:02 PM

Not much of a stretch at all. Perfectly usable and the extra sidewall stiffness is great for feel and response. I'll be running 255s on up from here out though. Gotta take advantage of what I've got. I'm just glad I didn't buy my Volks new at $4100 + tires.

Nothing really important, Fuel smell on really cold mornings, please dont be a hose clamp that I cannot reach Coolant leak somewhere, just too lazy to pinpoint it. Will wait at next oil change. Drove the piss out of it couple days ago, was only -2 out, tires looked deflated but who cares its their final season. Very much happy with the overall reliability and fun I have on the daily with this car. Only mod I forsee is seats because my drivers one is killing my back after only a 20min drive. Now I wait for my friend to get back from Vacation so we can install the new calipers on the Civic |

I do. I think I'm one of the few lucky people that gets to enjoy their daily commutes. Every once in a while I get a thumbs up from someone that knows exactly what the car is and it makes my day.

IDW Supremo Member Group: Advanced Members Posts: 870 Member No.: 38,019 Joined: Oct 24th 2011 Location: Update Profile | Alright guys, purchased the h7 LED kit from Superbrightleds.com because a ballast failed on my Diode Dynamics HID kit (4300K) Installed my passenger side one because it was the side that failed, pretty easy when you have a SRI, gives a lot of added room. Now the questions I have is will the driver inside the dustcap be OK? I was reading that they can get hot but with the length of the wires it is impossible to feed it out the hole I had already drilled for the HID kit. Not to mention that hole is being used for the new braided heat sinks. Other question is how can I get a tight seal with the heat sinks outside the hole? I'm thinking just some ghetto electrical tape will do. I'll install the drivers side Saturday at work and try to go someplace dark to test how far the distance is on these. As much as you want to make it your own, your best bet will be to leave it in relatively original form. |

IDW Supremo Member Group: Advanced Members Posts: 870 Member No.: 38,019 Joined: Oct 24th 2011 Location: Update Profile | Haven't been driving the wagon much these days but I took for a good boot last week and remembered why I love it so much and it still runs great even though I'm nearing 200,000km It was my b day last Friday so I ended up buying myself some flares. Considering I have quarter rust starting might as well go wide! I want to run 245 tires all around. I really like the look of my stock SpecB wheels but +55 and 7" wide won't cut it. Going to need something 8.5-9" wide and +35 So far the only similar wheel I can find is OZ Superturismo but if anyone else has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. |
