Okay then,

I've begun work on the last three chapter and epilouge. Afterwards, I'll give the three starting chapters for each individual fanfic I'm planning to use as a Spin-off. Please tell me which one's the best when I post then later in December.

Oh thnap!

Sorry abut that one guys! (removes last post in shame of own stupidity)

I was kindof out of it when I last posted.

Here's the next chapter!

Chapter 41: Finale Pt. 2 Battle Begins

"Takumi," Sarutobi, the Super GT team manager said, "It seems like you've been outta your element recently." "What do you mean?" Takumi asked, looking up from his Falcon. "I dunno," he said, "But it seems like your driving's better for the rally course." "I know it is," Takumi said, "but I just can't right now." "Why?" Sarutobi asked, "If you know even, then why continue?" "I've just gotta beat this one guy." "Dammit Takumi!" Sarutobi yelled, "If you can't beat him while he's in his element, just beat him where you've got the advantage!" "Like the mountain pass?" Takumi replied. "Exactly," Sarutobi said, "And I can almost bet that Keisuke'll still want to take you on no matter where you race. You two are rivals! Of course you'll battle each other!"

* * *

"It's settled then," Takumi said, "If I win or lose, I'll go into the WRC. It suits my style better anyway." The sound of a rotary-powered team came near. "It's RR!" Iketani said, with his palms sweating. As he said that, an FD pulled into the lot followed by one support truck with a box trailer on the back. The FD was recognizable as Kyoko Iwase's single-turbo FD. Both Keisuke and Kyoko stepped out of the FD. They kissed and Keisuke left her to head to the trailer.

"How is she?" Keisuke said to his chief mechanic in reference to his car. "She's not damaged from the drive," the mechanic said, "The tires are also warmed up under the heat shields. I think you're all set." "Is the Akina setting installed into the mainframe?" Keisuke asked. "We've double and triple-checked the info," the crew chief replied, "It's all set to run, sir." With that, Keisuke went into the trailer through the side door and started the 20B 450-hp 3-rotor FD.

As it came out, the general public got their first look at a possible future Super GT champion. Its custom-formed widebody was cloaked in the typical Super Autobacs color scheme of bright orange and white. The rear dry-carbon wing was massive, stretching to the point where the mechanics had to remove it before transport. The only places where paint was not present, carbon fiber shone through. The doors were that same shade of dark gray along with the roof, entire front end and rear bumper. There were many canards and diffusers on the car, that it made the car illegal to run on public streets, but that didn't stop Keisuke.

The inside was as functional as the body was, with only one seat, and a full rollcage. Where the guages once were, there now sat a digital display showing everything from RPMs to oil temperature even to tire wear. The seat was made of super lightweight aluminum, and was barely covered in enough foam and fabric to cushion blows given by the hard and spartan suspension.

Outside, the team was making last minute adjustments to the car. They removed the wheels to replace with fresh tires. Once they did so, it revealed the massive 15-inch ceramic disk brakes with massive six-pot calipers to bring the car to a screeching halt faster than any Italian exotic out there. Finally, the crew put on the wide racing slicks specifically made for Akina's hairpins and high-speed curves. "It's ready, sir," the chief said to Keisuke, who was done suiting up.

"Dammit," Takumi thought, "I didn't even bring a racing suit. Can I even win?" Takumi then flshed back to his battle with his father. That feeling of defeat was so bad that he swore that he wouldn't lose like that again. "No." Takumi said, with the look in his eyes changing from scared to iron-willed, "This is my hill. I've gotta defend it at all costs. No outside will ever beat me here! No one!"

It was time. Both the FD and the AE86 lined up for their last battle before their rookie year was up. Iketani came up to the starting line. "It's just like old times," he thought, "It feels like only yesterday that I was having second doubts about Takumi's skill." As he stood between the two cars, he couldn't help to think that this might be his last time starting a race this big. "Okay!" he yelled, "Five seconds til the start!"

"Four!"

Takumi sat in his Trueno. The engine revved to 5,000 rpm, and then the needle sunk back down the guage as he let his foot down to rev again. His sights were firmly locked on the road ahead of him. It was do-or-die time now; no one could stop him.

"Three!"

Keisuke revved his engine in tune with Takumi's. Something about that night seemed almost magical. It was like the first time when he raced Takumi. He just saw a little brat with an AE86 who happened to catch him off guard that day. After three years racing with him, he now saw something different in his rival. He had nothing but respect for Takumi, and vice versa for Takumi with his rival.

"Two!"

"One!"

"GO!"

The battle went on fiercely. Round after round, both drivers jockeyed for position. The first to see Takumi and Keisuke was the Sileighty team of Mako & Sayuki. "Here they come," Sayuki told Mako. Both cars swung past them at speeds unseen on the pass. "They're running at their best," Mako said, "It's way too even to call who'll win." "You've got a point, Mako," Sayuki replied, "I can alsoguarentee that this will not be their only run down the pass."

As the cars went into their sixth circuit, Sudoh from Emperor noticed a change in the Eight-Six's driving pattern. "His line-" Sudoh said in shock. "What's going on, Kyouichi?" Iwaki asked. "He's been building up his momentum, giving him an excellent line," Sudoh said, "On their next run, he'll be going all out."

* * *

"Damn," Takumi thought from behind the FD, exhausted from this battle royale against his bitter rival, "If I keep running like this, I don't think I can beat him. I've gotta go all out!" At the next turn, he began his gutter run. "He's doing that again?" Keisuke wondered, "It's been almost twelve rounds! If he keeps it up, that chassis is gonna break!"

To Keisuke, he saw an Eight Six in his rearview, but to Takumi, he saw the blue WRX of his father in front of him. "There is no way I will ever lose to you!!!" he thought, "NO WAY IN HELL!!!!!" All of a sudden, Keisuke noticed a white aura around his rival. "What-" he thought, "The hell?! He's that good!" The next thing that happened was even unexplainable to Keisuke. The Trueno slingshotted out of the third guttered hairpin and blasted past him like it was a 1000-hp Skyline. "Amazing," Keisuke thought, "I didn't think he would have the capacity to pull that one off. I guess its time for me to reveal my true potential, too!"

In Takumi's rearview, he saw Keisuke's car flame up with a red aura around it. "Good then," Takumi said, "Come get some!" At every hairpin, Takumi still seemed to be widening the gap between him and Keisuke. "No wonder Takumi's horrible at the Super GT!" Keisuke thought, "He's a dynamo at the rally stages! No doubt, Takumis got the best reaction on these roads bar none! He's the better man by far out here. I just can't win tonight."

* * *

Wataru and Nobu were waiting anxiously for the main event to fly by them again. "On their last run," Wataru said, "Did you notice some strange noise from the Eight Six?" "Yeah," Nobu said, "And he's also turning in an awkward manner, too; its like he's trying to remove the pressure from one side oif the car. As you said with your Levin, Takumi's Trueno is also beginning to disintegrate." "How much longer does he have?" Sakamoto asked. "Not sure," Wataru said, "I'd give him a few more runs if he can't pass Keisuke."

* * *

As Wataru predicted, underneath the floor of the Eight Six was not working as it should've. The rear 4-link bar was loosening and falling apart as the laps continued. The gutter runs didn't do the front any good either. The front coilovers was doing the same. Takumi could feel this through his fingers and feet, but he coaxed the car to continue. "Just a little more, my Eight Six!" he said, "You can do it!"

At the last turn of the course, where many amazing victories had been won by Takumi, was where it happened. As Takumi steered into the final turn, he felt something break. "NO!" he yelled, "Not now!" The car drifted crookedly as one of the shocks in the front broke. The car's front right wheel went under, and catapulted the Eight Six into the air. It landed on its side and skidded towards the crowd at the finish line. "EVERYONE RUN!" A spectator said, "THE EIGHT SIX IS GONNA RUN INTO THE CROWD!" The crowd ran as the Eight Six fell over on its roof and began its destructive roll. It did cross the line before Keisuke this time, but it would be the last race for the valiant Eight Six of Akina.

I'd like to thank all of you thru this fic's continuation. From the long updates to the re-posting of chapters, I'm glad people gave me such support. Once again, thank you.

Let's finish this!

Chapter 42: So Long, Beloved Eight Six

"TAKUMI!" Yuuichi yelled, running to the crumpled mass in the lot. He pulled his former employee out of the wreckage. His head was all bloodied from the impact, and he seemed unconscious. "Are you okay?!" he said, smacking Takumi's face, "Speak to me, kid! Oh shit! Please don't die!" "We've got a man down!" another spectator yelled, "Someone rush him to the hospital!"

Keisuke pulled up to Yuuichi and ran out of the car. "TAKUMI!" he yelled, "Quick, put him in the passenger seat of my car!" By this time, Takumi began to come to. "K-Keisuke," he said, raising his arm to his rival, "Th-thank, y-you..." He then passed out again. "Hold on, man!" Keisuke yelled, "Don't you die on me dammit!"

* * *

It was 8:30 AM when Takumi woke up. His head was all bandaged up and couldn't see out of his left eye due to all the head bandages. "You okay?" a familiar voce said to Takumi. "M-Mogi?" he said, "What're you- what're you all doing here?" "You were in a crash," Iketani said, "Mogi's been here at your bedside since she came in from Tokyo at 2 AM last night. "I was so worried when Iketani said you were in an accident," she said to her ex-boyfriend, "I dropped everything I did, and I ran here to see you! I'm so glad you're okay!"

"How's the Eight Six?" Takumi asked. "It's beyond repair," Itsuki said, "but the more important thing is that you're alive." "The doctor said that all you had was a small concussion and some head bleeding," Mogi said, "I'm so glad you're okay. Are you coming back to Tokyo?" "Yeah," Takumi said, "I'm still gonna race, but I'm definitely coming back."

"Are you, still single?" Mogi asked after everyone else left. "Yeah," Takumi said. "Do you think there's still something between us?" "I dunno if I could support you through all of this driving you do!" Mogi said, tearing up, "Just seeing you all beat up like this, I was so afraid. I still want it to work, Takumi!" Takumi then let her head fall on his shoulder. She left shortly after that.

The next people to come in were Rika and Daijyu. "Hey, man," Daijyu said, "You okay?" "I'm fine," he replied, "Why're you guys here?" "I'm your sister," Rika said, "I've gotta worry about you." "But you barely know me," Takumi replied. "I know," she said, "But I needed to make peace between mom and dad." "Where are they?" Takumi asked. "They're outside," Daijyu said, "I bet you're wondering why I'm here, too." "Uh-huh," stated Takumi. "I've got a car you might want to consider replacing the Eight Six."

"What do you mean 'replace the Eight Six?'" Takumi asked. "It's beyond repair, I hear," Dai replied, "But they say the engine's still salvageable. I've got an interesting chassis you might want to consider stuffing it into." "Who has it?" Takumi asked. "Oh," Dai replied again, "Keisuke's got it at a junkyard near Tokyo." "Did he give you instructions?" Takumi stated. "Of course," Dai said, "Now let me tell you about this car. . . ."

After Takumi got out of the hospital, he met with Keisuke who was in the Tokyo junkyard where they housed the remains of the Eight Six. As they walked through the graveyard, they noticed other cars that sat in piles. Most were base-model cars, but some were racers. These cars had been sitting on the automotive death row; a metal Green Mile of sorts.

The two eventually came to a clearing in the yard where choice wrecks sat; waiting to be picked clean of their prime parts. Sitting in a puddle of brown muddy water was the Eight Six. The front right quarter panel was ripped to shreds by the Watanabe rim. On the rim was the scraps of the tire. Through the wheel openings, one could see the remains of the shock and upper A-arm that cracked under the intense heat and pressure. It was this last effort of the heroic little Toyota that killed its suspension.

It wasn't just frontal damage that killed the car; instead, it was the barrel-roll flip that crushed the roof down into a crumpled mass that sat on the seat of the car. Many of the employees at the junkyard asked Keisuke if the driver survived, and they were astonished to hear that someone survived such a wreck. The driveshaft hung down, never to be connected to an engine again due to its twisted shape. It was horrible; even the "Fujiwara Tofu Shop" emblem was grinded off the door in the crash.

"Is the engine okay?" Takumi said, doubting the rumors that it survived this holocaust. "Yep," Keisuke said, "I've got my best mechanics working on it right now." "Good," Takumi said, "Have your guys send it over to the Subaru racing team's garage HQ." "Why's that?" Keisuke pondered. "I've got a new chassis to stuff it into," Takumi said "I don't mean that," Keisuke replied, "I mean the Subaru thing." "I've decided to forget the Super GT," Takumi said, with Keisuke's expression of shock, "I'm gonna enter into the WRC and race for Prodrive. They're giving me a shot in the European stage and everything." "Well," Keisuke said, "Good luck. You'll do great in whatever you race; no doubt about that." As he looked out the window, he saw the sun set on his past as the moon rose on his new journey.

I have to say this is an interesting story. I'll have to go back and read from the beginning when I get home, but from the few chapters I've skimmed through it seems pretty cool. Killing poor Ryosuke though, and the hachi-roku.

But wait! there's...more?! blink.gif

Epilouge: 20 years later

Itsuki Takeuchi looked out on the mountain. "So that's what happened," he said to his son, Wataru Takeuchi. "Wow," Wataru said, "And you still drive that 40 year-old virgin POS Levin of yours?" "Yeah," Itsuki said, " And I can still kick your ass, you hotshot in your 2011 Fairlady!" "Did you ever hear from Takumi again?" Wataru asked his father. "Last I heard," Itsuki said, "He was in the Alps somewhere, just driving with his daughter."

Italian Alps: 2027

The sound of a flat-6 was echoing through the Alpine valley. "I'm still the best up here," Franz Heimler thought, "Even the best old-timer drivers can't beat my German-engineered 2023 Porsche 999 GT3!" Out of the dark, a set of headlamps apppeared in Franz's rearview. "That's odd," he thought, noticing the strange set of lamps rocketing towars him, "It seems like some old twenty plus year-old car of some sort. I oughtta shake him in the next four turns!" As the two drifted through the mountains, the set of stnage lamps continued their approach on its prey. "He's damn good!" Franz tought, "Its like he's not human."

At the next turn, the unusual car took the inside under Franz. "Wha-??" he thought, "A-a BMW Z3? How the hell is that beating me?!" Within the next turn, the car vanished, tailights leaving an imaginary trail into darkness. "It had to be a ghost...yeah, of some old timer who flew off the hill at that turn!"

In the small villa, the BMW pulled into a small store lot. It was positioned right at the foot of the mountains with an awning that said "Torino Tofu & Ski Shop" The Z3's door opened, and a beautiful young woman stepped out. Her brown shoulder length hair blew in the wind. She was dressed in an Italian leather jacket because the heater was still broken. Her blue eyes shone in the new day sunlight

"Mitsui?" an older man hollered, "How did it go today? Is the 4AG running well on my new Ethanol mix?" "Of course, dad," she said, "I ran into that guy in the Porsche who tried to beat your WRC Subaru the other day." "Still cocky?" the older man wondered. "Of course," Mitsui replied, "anyone who loses to a Fujiwara is pissed like he was. They always make excuses like saying that we had dumb luck in the race." "Okay, kid," Takumi said with a grin, "Now go upstairs and get ready for school."

After his daughter left for school, the phone rang. "Who the hell is it?" Takumi wondered, "Hello, Torino Tofu & Ski Shop, how may I help you?" "You up for a race, Ghost of Akina?" the other line said. "Do you want to run somewhere neutral today?" "Sure," the voice said, "How does Monaco sound?" "It's warm, right?"

The blood-red Ferrari patiently waited for its rival. It was parked outside of a mointainside cafe in Southern France. A blue Aston Martin pulled up next to it. The drivers stepped out. "You ready, Takumi?" Keisuke asked. "I was born ready," Takumi replied. Both got back into their cars and sped off into the mountains; doing what they do best.

THE END
