I use Tenso! You buy japanese shit, have it shipped to their warehouse, and then they ship it to you. Of course you have to pay them so it costs a little extra, but it's well worth it considering there are CDs on Amazon.jp that go for like 1 yen plus 300 yen shipping.

So in your experience, how much does it end up costing per CD after shipping, fees, etc.?

After that, you provide your shipping address and they will send you an enveloppe where you provide very sensible information. It's copy, sure, but enough that, if it falls into bad ends, they could steal your identity. I don't remember what piece exactly but it's something like your driver's licence. The first one is very minor but for somebody who doesn't use one and uses paypal and a linked bank account, it's a major stop. The second one is a deal breaker. Apparently, it's to abide to Japanese law but I don't exactly believe it. They want to verify our information. But why does 99.9% of the online shops base themselves on good will while you have to be the .1% and ask for proof? Sorry, you are not my government nor my insurances or my bank. If you don't believe the info, I'm going to input, I'm sorry, but you aren't going to get anything from me. ANd even less if you don't even check the info vs. my credit card. Imo, it's better to use services such as Noppin where it's probably more expensive but, as far as I know, they'll only take the info you're going to provide. On top of that, there are JP shops online that WILL refuse to fulfill an order because they are sending the item(s) to a forwarding service such as Tenso. I think I remember reading that either Tora No Ana or Melonbooks would do that. Also that Tenso does NOT order for you. YOU are going through the order pages of your shops YOURSELF. They only ship out the items outside of Japan to you. However, Noppin WILL order them for you THEN ship it to you. Use Tenso if... 1. You feel like you are OK creating an account with your CC. 2. Feel like your trust Tenso with highly personal information. 3. Know your Japanese enough to order your stuff yourself. 4. Feeling lucky that the shop doesn't Geo-restrict credit cards (ie. Only accept Japanese-issued credit cards). Note: I haven't used Noppin yet but it's my current fall-back if my current guy goes onto hiatus or something. I used i-tm4u for you in the past (they are on hiatus until October of this year) and it went very well too. My 2¢ This post has been edited by Lebon14 on Jul 17 2015, 09:13 AM |

But if your getting 20+ CDs then the price goes down to about $4-$6 each with the current exchange rate. EDIT They are very expensive on Yahoo JP auction purchases though. When was it that you tried to sign up? Because I never gave them my credit card number, I pay them via PayPal, and point 2 with the envelope never happened either. They still do identity verification, but they ask you to upload a photo of your ID or driver's license if I remember correctly. I sent them the shittiest cellphone picture of my ID with a big ol' glare on it and everything, and it was still accepted . Also, it looks like Tenso used to have a buying service but discontinued it for some reason...I never used it anyway.

Photo of my ID or driver's licence? I will NEVER send such piece of information to a company overseas. Law or not.
I do have it but Mr. White-Knight does not want me to share it. It's a 100% copy too... @takumi333 You can add this one to the missing list... And probably 235.

As far as getting the newer volumes, since crowdfunding is also out of the question, we'll just have to hope someone who did or will buy it uploads it.
