That's not right. I don't know to what incident you are referring to but this car belongs to an older Japanese gentleman.
4 not including the SSRs that are waiting for suspension adjustments.
There's plenty of those around too. They just don't get out as much as the rest of us do for obvious reasons. Plus they made a gazillion R32s... well maybe not that many but they made a lot, more than all the r33s and r34s combined. Did you notice the R35 behind the blue car that got pulled over for driving on the wrong side of the road to take pictures? The cop car is several cars behind the blue 32. You can see our car and Ryan's car behind it then the cop. Everyone just stopped to make sure it wasn't something bad. He.. Or rather she, got away with a warning . Ryan's the owner but his fiance was driving. I think all the cameras may have spooked the cop. Or the usual little blond lady vs cop stereotype.
As usual it's not that simple. They become DOT and EPA exempt and can be imported with few restrictions but in order to register them in CA for road use you will still need an EPA and CARB compliant engine and unfortunately that just doesn't exist for these cars. Takumi T. If you choose to hunt for an R32 when they become federally legal for import I can certainly help and put you in touch with people who will do it the right way and help you figure out what your options for registration are. If you can't wait you can always source a Nismo edition R32 under show and display. I can help you with that too but obviously that's going to be comparably more expensive than just waiting. So who was the dick driving the car taking this video who, unlike everyone else in the group who stopped to make sure their friend was okay, decided FUCK THE POLICE and FUCK Y'ALL and drove off while giving everyone the proverbial finger?

This is why people shouldn't judge anything based on the context of youtube vids. Sean Morris (who is honestly one of the most awesome people ever) was taking this video. What you don't see on film is him telling Paul (Orange Crush) to park at the parking lot across the block so we're not (possibly) illegally parked in the lane waiting for our friend and essentially being more possible ticket bait. The edited video was made as a joke for Ryan who totally had a sense of humour about it. This post has been edited by JKaiba on May 28 2013, 08:35 PM

I guess without being involved it's hard to tell that it was a joke and not actual commentary on what happened. Thankfully we have here someone who was, you know, actually there. |

Actually a Shinigami GT-R Replica would be insane because there aren't one.... But nice Skyline Meeting! Loved the R35, very nice bodykits. The midnight purple one was my favorite! But how come this was filmed by GT-Channel? There weren't that many Skylines. Okay, they are rare in USA but still.
I actually hoped for one crazy-ass R34 who got there and got arrested!

It's not about how many Skylines showed up. Most people now kinda realize that just Skyline (non GT-R) is not that big of a deal. There was a plateless R33 GTS-T that showed that got no coverage because it wasn't a GT-R. GT channel covered the meet because it was a total 53 GT-R meet including the 5 Skyline GT-R that showed up and it was the largest So Cal GT-R owner's club meeting with some prominent people like Sean Morris there. For those that don't know him he's pretty much the patron saint of legal grey market importation here in the US.

Now you're saying, that is indeed a lot of Skylines. @Honda GC2: There are more. I think Holland has a hundred Skylines. That is a lot if you know there are only 16 million people here. More than 20 skylines are for sale at the moment so it should be more than i thought. Like this one: Marktplaats Nissan Estate If i could choose a hearse i would choose this one! When I visited Best R in Japan, once my line of questioning went towards if I wanted to purchase anything for export from Japan, the gentleman who was in charge told me that some guy from Denmark not a week back just bought an R34 Vspec II, cash in hand and that Best R has sold to a lot of European visitors including some from Holland. Sounds like some of you guys have Skyline fever. |
