regarding this tire management thing..

actually how does one define "push too hard" until u get the speed penalty?

by braking too hard? accelerating too early before exiting a corner? or entering the corner too fast?

does late braking into mid corner consider "pushing too hard"?

We're seeing videos of people liberally using their brakes to slow down from the speed boost gives them, so i dont think brakes would be a factor in reducing it. It would be more on the lines of taking a corner too hot or throwing your rear out in the middle of a corner.

so hard braking doesn't "destroy" the tire at all causing acceleration penalty? rolleyes.gif

Apparently not. Sega hasnt really announced officially that the tires are being shredded/heated to dangerous levels, so its really speculation as to what boost really is. Granted, this is the assumption that makes the most sense.

yea..tire "heated" is just used as a more logical explanation as what causes boost and penalty laugh.gif

thanks for the explanation grin2.gif

the boost thing usually dont come back if u hit the outside wall at the 3rd CP and ur opponent is perfect through the corners if ur behind.. except for Myogi..

Myogi.. save ur boost and play normally let ur opponent go before CP3 and catch up frm there definately win after the final 2 corners.. smile.gif

CP1 Slow
CP2 Slow
CP3 Go Full Out
CP4 Go Full Out Until The Boost Ran Out

I saw this being used in a Nagao DH video.
The video is listed in the IDAS5 vids . The person got a timing of 3'13'409.

i attempted da gutter in cp3... although i scrapped da inner wall, its still alot faster than not entering the gutter at all... does it imply that there are "few buckets of ice" at the gutter? LOL

btw... borrowed fd's 86 n tried a few times... 3:10:9XX only...

Your FD has an 86? o.O

I think the relative mean of your speeds has an effect on your boost; example, if I were to stay within the late late 60's and early 70's range when I run down akina, I find boost lacking. BUT if the numbers were closer together the boost picks up.

We could think of it as tire degradation, so you save your tires in the whichever CP you fancy, and go all out at others. smile.gif

The only thing that make me want to play IDAS5 is solely because of the boost effect..... If SEGA want to remove it or change it to some kind of penalty ie IDAS4 PC then this would make me mad.gif mad.gif

However, I loved the PC + Boost effect...

Anyhow.. Why remove the boost...

It's the only candle that cardless people use against us to enjoy the game and to say he can keep up...

In my opinion, the boost effect DOES boost the car as well as the individuals confidence to play the game...

Besides... WMMT also has boost so why let him play WT is he hates and/or thinks of boost as crap right?

June?

I think you're referring to battle boost.
We're talking about the whole "Tire management system" that complicates the game when you go too fast in one section, you go so much slower later on.

yea.. its kinda annoying in a way... but its there for a good cause

me think... it would be better accepted if its combined with the WYSIWYG style of ver3 compared to some 'guesswork' in ID5

cos the 'ghostly' boost effect is kinda annoying many people that mainly only hardcorers are playing. not good for demographics and play population.

thats the reason why Ver series and MT series pick up so fast, its easy to sit down and just pick up the basics.
