Just an interesting question, as in ID3 i used right foot, whereas ID4 i used left foot.

Most people generally used the left feet for braking since their right feet are always occupied with the gas pedal.

On the other note...somebody just wouldn't even care to press the brake pedal at all and just leave it while driving with one leg on the gas and another hanging other place.

Is it possible to be fast if you use right foot for braking? O_o

I've always used left from IDAS2-5, since there's no clutch anyway.

I dunno about you guys. I've always been a right foot braking guy; that's how I usually drive IRL and that's what instinct tells me to do.

Out of curiousity I tried it once when I messed up a run badly instead of Force quitting. In theory it should be flawless, but I just find it so awkward giving my left foot something to do. Kinda like sitting down for a long time, and then standing up right away.

been using left foot braking in ID ever since i started playing, couldn't imagine myself using my right foot for both braking and accelerating...

though i used to remember someone who played IDv3 using only his right foot for both braking and accelerating, yet his times were among the fastest in our area...

I been using my left foot to brake since ID4 1.2 because of PC.
Still use my left foot to brake before corners in 1.5

i'm a right foot breaker....only IDAS5 cos i'm a bit too rushy on the gas pedal before...

I also steer one-handed, although I'm a leftie when it comes to braking. Tried right-foot braking a couple of times in ID 4 tho.

PS: tried using left-foot braking IRL with my boss' CRV (it's 'matic).. didn't work well tho.. at least I didn't crash the car..

Braking is tricky, depending on the course, turn, and condition it depends on how hard, long or if you even need to break. on any 3rd gear or higher turn no heavy amount of breaking is needed (especially in the rain) Just a sharp turn at the correct time keeps the speed up and reduces changing time from brake to gas.

Also instad of some people (from what ive seen) trying to hit the brake while drifting pumping the gas gives a lto better traction.

But personally I use the right foot to break. Reduces the chance for me one to hit both or to screw up break time. Also braking with the right foot helps you vbrake better for teh fact you have to stop gassing to brake and i feel it gives you a better response time (braking with the left foot just screwed up my speed and made me brake to earlly and i was going to fast)

Im hoping to come out with all the courses (and conditions) up and down (foward and back for lake akina) highest gear so new people get a rough idea of what gear to take a turn in. And hopefully an in depth guide to the tracks. (may take a while but I will get it posted)

I use left foot braking on all tight courses. The lack of a clutch pedal and h-pattern shifter in Initial D allows me to do this. I compare initial d 5 to driving a shifter go-kart in this way.

On wider, open courses like Myogi, Akina and Akagi I left foot brake until i come to the tighter sections.

i only used my left foot for braking n timed myself correctly n consistantly when i do my turning ... is all about practices but of course only with the correct way

since i only play AKINA dhd like 90% out of my 15M points i can only give my pointers on this map bout the braking techniques ... thanks to my crew i have learn more to be where i am now even tho not the fastest but i think is good enuf ...

right now i m braking more lately than b4 to maintain the speed, jamming your brakes till the apex while adjusting your steerings towards the corner will help the turning better via correct timing n shifting ...

juz check out the cornering speed of the Jap TA videos, try to follow their cornering speed via braking all the way till apex n reaccel (after u release your brakes)ASAP even tho u mite feel some oversteering but try to adjust your steering straight when u r out of the corners ...

this is what my mt8 found out why the reaccel speed of the Japs r so much faster !!

if you use your right foot to brake then u will never b able to do that quickly n hence the slower timings ...

all this while i m so amazed with my mt8 IN when i watch him TAing, is not as easy via watching videos as when u see the gear drops ... if u can do the way how he changes his gears either 5 or 6 gears cars is juz simply JAW DROPPING ...

i m not saying that coz him being my team mate but as 1 of the most talented ID player i ever seen ... what i m trying to say that both braking n gear changes r important key element in V5 n not forgetting the degree of manouvering ...

actually i m not supposed to b sharing all this techniques here but since after so long v5 released v have almost achieved most of our targets as many of my mt8s r playing lesser n lesser ...

depends on your execution n style if u can get it right then carry on but all depends on the corners like for example the 5 cons hairpins in akina dhd those u do it with 2 hands coz not much of gear changes except the last 2 hairpins ...
