| Although the acceleration and the gear parts have improved, but during the cornering, it seems a bit weird and the brake seems to be too powerful... I hope to see people posting "Legend Of The Street" Challenge as to see how the computer "attack" the corners. |

| This doesn't look too impressive to me...straight line speed greatly increased but slow as hell corners? Yes, the person in the vid might not know what he's doing but seeing the person even struggles at the small bends (ex. right hander before cp1 banner).....I'm starting to think this might as well be Sega's attempt at Battle Gear or something..... |

Agreed and in my opinion I think the game physics is way better than seeing cars supersliding in ID4 and it's in-in-out way of cornering. |

| well.. the longer i watched the video.. i found out something it looks like physics changes and cosmetic changes as in shadow effects are more intense.. thats about it i guess and a new map it seems.. GTR better be in ver5 game!! and it seems there is a team sticker on car.. it would be so cool.. or it could be like that provided, "do you guys think it is like ver 2 going ver 3 and u can use the ver 4 card on ver 5.. that would be cool.. |

In Japan, that's a given. Yes. Other than that. I have no idea. In North Carolina we have like one location that I know of that actually has IDAS4 or hell, even WMMT. And it's like a four hour drive away from me. Arcades in the west have been dead for a while. Only select places are lucky enough to have good ones. I'm lookin' at you California. : / |

In terms of Initial D in general, yes, Cali is pretty dead. Some arcades have been closing due to the shitty economy, but several are still prospering due to the high popularity of Street Fighter 4 and Maximum Tune 3. I only wish Initial D had the popularity it once did  |

Hmm...good point.... Are they reusing the ID4 cabinet for this tho? If they are, then the arcade owners might just get the upgrade kit (should be cheaper). If they aren't, I don't think anyone will get it...the cabs were hella expensive and I doubt most arcades have covered the cost of the machine yet... |

I dunno about all of that. I don't think a video game will ever mimic reality well. As far as driving physics go. Battle Gear is fun, but I don't really consider it realistic. I can drift in real life, but I suck at drifting on Battle Gear. IDAS5 will be fun, but, hardly realistic. |

Hmm let me guess around 2009 February or March i dont think it is possible. it is still on testing and the cart still looks the same. i bet you the videos have proven it is using the same Ver 4 cart.. they just change the gaming cartridge in the cart.. for new new whole look i guess end of 2009? so another year's wait.. so we still have time to break records on ver 4.. |

I think that's why it's called a simulation of the real thing. They make games (like this and BG4) CLOSE TO the real thing. So it's their call. Some can make it realistic and I could see a bit of realism in IDAS5 here. Taking a hairpin at gear 2 at 80+ km/h (highest possible) is more understandable than taking it at gear 3 at 120+ km/h. (just saying an example) Still praying that ID5 comes sooner than we think it would be. I can't wait to race against a JZA MK IV Initial D style!! Wait. I checked the official site... why did they only show team 246 there? Where's Katagiri and the other team. Will the NSX come in the line up (that'll be sick as hell! The NSX is the REAL FORBIDDEN WEAPON in the mountain passes!  ) |

 has anybody noticed that in stage 5 you dont lose speed in small turns like in stage 5.there is just a small stall during the turn then it just kicks back a lil after the apex. well i havent seen a vid where i see anybody lose speed aside from the braking,which you can clearly see when they are bracking. |

| it is highly likely that they were able to transfer their card data, i mean the ID5 scenes there are just tests, and in the ID5 website, there was a special mention about "ID4 kai" (which is the jap. equivalent of ID4 v1.5 in the eng. international version), so it is very much possible they were able to transfer their card data since the their ranks (some of them even kept their SS auras) and points remained intact... ...and we all hope it would be the same here (card data transfer FTW), otherwise most people who didn't care much about ID4 would probably care even less about ID5... |

the speed does still decelerate when turning too hard, you can see it in the akina uh video after the consec's it just seems maybe because id4 the car was fully sideways where as in this its more on the grip side, so possibly how much you turn or how shit your line is creating excessive turning decides how much you decelerate on those full throttle bends |

| hagao sounds like one of the dim sum goodies.. besides happo, theres another new course which i dont know the english name for it the data is transferable. and dont count on them putting auras for internation versions. i dont think they will put it in.. considering what they did to id4 they are such a dork. |

Given the fact how tedious and expensive it was to fully tune one car let alone three in ID4....people will be pissed if there are no transfers to ID5. (New tuning system usually means no transfers). |

I've said that since IDAS4 first came out in the states and people started flipping shit over it. But on the flip side. I did feel a sense of pride once I got my aura the first time in IDAS4. Made me feel like a badass. |

| I'm pretty sure that's the Japanese release date. Probably means it gives SEGA 4 or 5 months, to f**k the game up and call it International version I'm only looking forward to the new physics. | It really looks like version 3 to me. Might also be that some people in Japan who are playing it have never played ver3 but started playing during IDAS4 so they're not adapting well to the physics. Oh well, we can only assume for now. I think it would be by summer of 2009 before we get this. |

| This goes against my better judgement.... After further review of videos posted by angelmix315 on youtube and various conversations with him, I've decided I am actually looking forward to this. When you think about the how much they slowed down hairpins and speed up acceleration a bit, it in turn just makes your dollar, or two(depending) on price, go further in the long run. Nothing wrong with that. Not to mention the courses are a lot cleaner. I mean yeah, we are taking a game thats slower than v3 which to me is still an abomination, but at least theres new content with old cars back in that weren't in v4(ugh). |

I don't know about the actual price but I guess it should be pretty expensive since IDAS4 costs about $2 per game and $5 for a card when it first came out. My guess is that it should be $2-$3 per game and $5-$6 for a card. But it should be cheaper after a few months. |

Happo was the ultimate men:boy ratio factor - even the few ID5 videos of Happo, they seem to be nose-scraping or hip-checking wall an awful lot. (Not to say that I could do any better, it was my best course back in v1-3, but I'm still pretty AS4 n00bish). I remember back in v3 someone rocked me on Tsuchi and Akina DH, but when I came back and asked to go Happo (dry!), they looked at me and shook their head lol!!! | Different soaps for different folks. Some people who played the game expecting back to version 3 physics or expecting a certain physics style which didnt get in the game would obviously be disappointed. The only way to really know if its good for you is to play the game yourself. |

| I just got back from trying this out at Club Sega in Akihabara, and from someone who doesn't play Arcade Stage 4 any more (that someone being me, because the 1.3 update physics are shit) I am very excited about Arcade Stage 5. I managed to play on the new course in the Supra, as well as playing Happogahara in the AE86 Levin and Akagi in the S13. It's probably rehashing what others have said, but the game seems to rely a lot more on preparing for oncoming corners in terms of adjusting your speed and setting up your line. What I was most impressed with was the gutters in the new course, Nagao. Fall into one and your speed will drop right down until you get out. |

highly doubt it. eraser for ver 3 was like pc for ver 4 in the sense that it was a sorta glitch that people exploited to get better times. though unlike eraser, pc was was eliminated in a later patch. |

There should be an 85 since Itsuki is in the anime. well... Looking at the people playing the game at the location test, they seem to have been able to transfer their cards. They already have FT cars so they couldn't have FTned them already without a transfer. Yeah, I also think that eraser won't come back. It sucks. People rely on it instead of technique to get good times. Not sure about the 86T and S2K part, but I think that the 86T will still be the best in the corners. The expected release date in Japan is February so international release date should be 1 month later, i guess? It depends on where you live too. But I'm very sure it will be released by end of this year. |

| now with the physics my friend has got a auto R34 gtr on his card and he never uses the brake and when he corners i just turns and keeps accelerating will he be worse in version 5 because i verse him in the manual 2 door wrx and i drive the proper way but when ever we race with out boost he gets away and i really have to work hard to catch him and only just reach him as the race finishes.... the main point is will proper initial D driver be even better over the reckless driving |

Hey Dameon wolf some of the version 3 machines have a slight glitch that you can jump as well, aim at the very edge and you kind of jump the jump in iro reverse. It seems to work only for auto, tried mt, doesnt work. Lol! Acutually back to v4. I find it that if you do the iro reverse jump with an auto it sort hangs the car in mid air a bit and lets it continue on the next jump if was flying. LoL! |

Fake Project D appears in the manga similar to the dudes from Tokyo. They drive the 86 and the FD. So since they're using the 86 I'm guessing the fake Takumi drives. And just some minor raves. God I love them for bringing back Happo. I was crushed when it wasn't on the courses in V4. |

When I worked in Shanghai last year all of their ID machines were japanese. I don't think the game is localized in simplified Chinese. I am not sure about Taiwan or Hong Kong though. Anyway there are enough similarities between the written languages to kind of feel your way through the menus, kind of like how we can sort of pick out words in other latin derived languages. |

| this new idnet looks like a blog I hope the international system is just as great this idnet brings huge hopes (well, at least for the japs) I hope sega won't disappoint us again my thoughts on idnet... we can post our times on a personal like page perhaps even spend points we gain from gameplay online to customize characters and cars so we don't have to waste or wait for other ppl to customize on the machines (way for arcade to make more money lol getting more players on the machine everyday) if that's so, sega will need a huge server to keep all the player's data and our id card will just serve as an access key to our online account, so even if u lose ur data on a machine, u can proly just DL it through the internet through the machine I'm just way ahead of myself and too excited about this I'm counting on u, Sega! |

| so still no bunta mode here's the breakdown of the video there's : LoTS Time Attack National Battle (most likely JP only)- battle against ppl over the internet like in IDES Internet mode- time attack to gain avatars and stickers and battle against ghost or real players (I can't tell since there's national battle, wats the point of having battle real players in internet mode then?) + stamp cards involved? VS battle- random selection added something about idnet mentioned at the end, I shouldn't get my hopes up about that one for international I think sega needs to make everything international so they can get some REAL money instead of just getting only the jap region players excited |

Not to mention, now that there's a daytime option it's alot easier to drive on it. I would even go so far as to say that it's now one of my favourite courses... WAIT! What's that mean? I LIKE ALL THE COURSES?!? WOW! Hahahaha, I dont have a video of it, but Iro is also very fun now. Lemme talk about what i think. IF you want to compare it to anything, your best bet would be a blend between version 4 and Kaido Battle 2 Chain Reaction or 3. It's a really good game. MUCH MUCH MORE REALISTIC! I never shifted so much before for any other Initial D game in my life (and I've played since version 1). |

I've asked and they aint said which date it will be out, thing is i'm most likely gonna be busy and wont have so much time in march, hope i can spend more time going and having a look if i get the chance. |

| my god, i only had like 3 or 4 races on it, and im addicted... I'm glad my girlfriend doesnt want to hang out this weekend, so im going to play this again tomorrow (Saturday) and again with my buddy on Sunday. Only one arcade in Takasaki city has it btw. And only 4 machines. |
