Initial D World - Discussion Board / Forums > Music and Radio Broadcast > Radio stream down or gone?

Posted by: clubraf Nov 23 2015, 06:45 PM
Is the music/eurobeat radio stream server down, or has it changed to a different connection address? I've searched the forums for some type of status or announcement regarding it, but haven't seen any.

Can any of the mods or DJ's provide some insight on the status?

They're working on getting a new host for the forums where the Radio is also up, week or two ago the forums were going down for hours at a time, was server/host problems.

I'm sure the admins will talk about it soon, they're just getting on it.

Dreamhost made a change to their backend that screwed up what we were doing with the radio banner but hasn't messed up the radio itself. It's still online and playing music, you just can't see it through the banner because the banner isn't working.

For now, access the radio directly: https://idforums.net:9001/

Soon we'll be leaving Dreamhost for a host that doesn't suck ass, which will solve all our little problems.

I made an account to literally ask the same question as clubraf since I've been trying to get the stream working for the past week and a half and thought it was just completely down. But I downloaded a new stream file from the shoutcast link that Nomake Wan posted and it's streaming perfectly now. Thanks!!

This exactly.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE.

Dreamhost is not at all happy with our ability to have live streaming anything on the site. In their latest "upgrade", they removed the ability to control a vast amount of settings for the site, which is what has set Perry off looking for a new home for IDW. This is why you don't see banners with live information anymore: we're entirely unable to incorporate them into the site anymore.

To say that Perry is pissed off is to say that the ocean is damp.

Rest assured, these features will be returning to IDW so we can all see who is manning the booth and what they're playing.

It's not gone, I'm listening to it right now and the banner is still active on the top of the forum. Unless you're looking for the recorded shows, which were indeed lost when our storage server got taken offline, sadly.

The podcasts are stored in our storage server: https://finaldistance.net/podcast/ All 17GB of them...

Might wanna update the Recorded Shows link on the top of this forum, then. wink2.gif
