Do you think there should be a ghost battle option for IDAS5? I think it would be fun and would attract more people to play (if the ghost's are smart). I think that would make more people play the game.

kinda like copy idea from max tune grin2.gif .. but its nice to have ghost battle in ID, it will make the game more attractive.. who knows maybe IDAS6 have? haha

I suppose if there was an incentive to play it in the first place then I guess it's a decent addition to the game.

I think it's cool. Kinda like in-store battle without having to wait for an opponent to battle with. While TA serve the same purpose of deciding who's faster, it feels.. different, somehow, between driving alone and battling with another, people or just LOTS.

A really cool idea. In fact, it would be even better if you're racing the ghost car during the beginning line where the ghost car has some sort of ghostly aura to add more atmosphere feel on it. XD

Racing against a ghost car in Initial D is indeed a great addition feature. We get to race ghost players like Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3. LOL

just so u know guys NAMCO didn't do a really good job on making ghost mode on maxi tune so unless SEGA can come up with a better way of making ghost mode, i say it gonna be a let down

but then again the ideas not bad it's just that they got make sure they don't make the same mistakes as NAMCO did with there ghost mode

what's wrong with MT's ghost mode? I mean, I also play MTDX, and beside the fact that I'm often beaten by the ghosts, I think it's just fine.

If the Ghost was an exact copy of the other player's run, I dont see the problem in implementing it. Just render the other car transparent and then remove the coding that makes it a collidable entity after drawing from the replay database.

In MT, Ghosts are not as smart, since they can be blocked. Let's say if the ghost goes a certain line, just go infront and it won't move to go away even when it's blocked. On some courses if you put your whole car infront the ghost might even stay there and not find a way to go around you. wink2.gif

The Ghost Battle could be a great addition to IDAS because it's just like playing LOTS.

Unfortunately, I lost half of my battles against ghosts, so that's why I said I can't see what's wrong with it.

Maybe I should stop battling with ghosts of higher HP than mine... tongue.gif

I agree with you. I think it's the system that's used in another racing game I've played before, but I don't remember which one.. Anyone ever played any of Collin McRae's Rally games?

ok heres the thing since mt has traffic ppl say that it's all the traffic but thats not true, the ghost mode is not that great cuz 1 of the thing is ramming, some times when u ram as hard as u can u won't always will cuz of the factors

& boost is a big factor as well & theres battle cuz each time u do ghost mode u can run a great almost perfect run but once u challenge that person in real battle & u choose the same map & same root & if he hits something then the ghost run he made would be ruined

I'm quite sure real battles (as in PvP battles) don't affect your ghost runs in Ghost Battle Mode. What probably happened in your scenario was the person rechallenged a real player ghost within Ghost Battle Mode itself - and hit walls or something. And this run overwrote the previous "almost-perfect" run.

I have no comments about the boost tho, it's always been there (I presume to keep the race "exciting" - although you can just block...in 3DX anyways)

actually i think it pvp battles does reflect on ghost cuz especial when ur taking ghost king
