So I'm downloading GTA:SA on PC. 83% done and now it's saying there's a problem connecting to tracker and operation time out. I'm fairly new to BT so I checked the FAQ and found this http://www.bittorrent.com/FAQ.html#problemconnecttracker . Anyone ever had this problem?? Were you able to continue download after a few days?? thx

i dunno whats the problem but it could either be you cant connect to the tracker again, the tracker is down or the torrent file you are downloading is gone i.e. its been taken off. try checking the site you got the torrent from and see if they have any seeders/leechers.

Sometimes, it happends to me. Use BitComet, or Azureus. I think you need to wait until the tracker refresh.

I don't know where I should post this question but if you mods need to move it somewhere, you can feel free to do that. So on this thread https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=15170 I asked about the tracker. I finished downloading the game now but it said I need to insert the CD/DVD. I know there's a program out there that does not require a CD to play but I don't know which program. As I said on my previous thread, I'm new to these things so anyone mind helping me out? thx wink2.gif

hmm you probably need the crack to play without a cd. Try finding on P2P or somwhere on the internet. Did the file you d/l include a crack of some sort?

so you downloaded GTA:SA correct?

im guessing the file came out as an disc image of some sort (.iso, .mdf) which is what you'd use to burn the game. if so, you can still use this very disc image file to play from your computer without the need of burning it to a DVD.

if you like me to continue with this, just post with your situation, and ill be glad to help -- just got GTA:SA myself recently biggrin.gif

This is the first game I download through torrent so I dunno any of these stuff pinch2.gif

may i ask who the torrent was released by? (ie. a group, or just one person?)

there are a number of fake GTA:SA releases going around, so maybe you accidentally downloaded one of them

the majority of those are good... the HOODLUM release is the only one that i know of that is an actual relese, so you should be ok

the version that i got had a bunch of rar files, like .01, .02 and so forth. other than that, i dont know how else its packaged, or the type of files you have

Yah, the RAR archive I have are DAT1, DAT2, DAT3, DAT4, ENGINE32 and GTA SA PC. I dunno why I can only open ENGINE32 and GTA SA PC. I already extracted all the files from those two archive.

well did the file come with an .nfo or a text file or anything?

if you wouldnt mind, could you screencap the directory where all your files are so i can take a closer look? might be easier to resolve the problem that way

well, it looks like the hoodlum release... see if the hoodlum.nfo file has any special notes in it for extraction or anything.

so by the looks of things you downloaded GTA SA PC.rar from the torrent. if so, extract the stuff from GTA SA PC.rar into a folder and then screencap that folder.
