OG Member Group: Advanced Members Posts: 9,054 Member No.: 111 Joined: Nov 26th 2002 Location: Atlanta | i wasnt severaly effected by this incident. i was more effected when i learned they were lost than when they were found exploding from 200,000 some feet in the air because i had expected it.but they were good people, most of them were married with kid(s) and it is for sure really hard on their families so may the crew of the STS-107 shuttle rest in peace and "for all eternity and for their families to be in our prairs"(my mom said this earlier) |

United States Marine Corps Group: Advanced Members Posts: 792 Member No.: 4 Joined: Sep 17th 2002 Location: San Francisco, California | i think one of the tiles fell off, and that may have cost this happen. my teacher said it have damaged the left wing, the shuttle right. outside they have those tiles and they are protecting the shuttle from over heated. they could take up to 3000+degree. you know in high altitude right. the air are really hard to breath. and the shuttle was travle at 12000 mile per hours. that cost heat happening. one of the tiles fell off. and the part of the shuttle started to over heated. i think all the air jet can no fly as high as the shuttle. i think there is this one F/A16 or 17 was tryed to communicated with the shuttle. but im not sure. sigh. it just a sad story. they just few minute away from the landing. and they can not make it. damn it .... this is a bad start for year 2003. i hope something good would happening soon. |

Feel especially sorry for most of them who were on that shuttle that were on their first mission. Couldn't come back to tell about it. It's even more depressing to hear the first isreali human to launch into space come back dead :\ sad. |

All 7 died due to an avalanche. Also to one of the students in my school who had died due to cancer, never knew him but he was my age. no homie. it was a guy. hes a elite pilot (hero to everyone in Israle). the lady is the indian american. other than that. most of them are navy command officer. they like head of the navy. | ||
