I myself is a big Astronomy fan. I feel very sad about this news.

QUOTE
Space shuttle Columbia disintegrated 39 miles over Texas on Saturday in a meteoric streak that rained smoking debris over hundreds of miles of countryside, killing all seven astronauts. Suspicion immediately turned to possible damage to the left wing during liftoff.

i wasnt severaly effected by this incident. i was more effected when i learned they were lost than when they were found exploding from 200,000 some feet in the air because i had expected it.but they were good people, most of them were married with kid(s) and it is for sure really hard on their families so may the crew of the STS-107 shuttle rest in peace and "for all eternity and for their families to be in our prairs"(my mom said this earlier)

i think one of the tiles fell off, and that may have cost this happen. my teacher said it have damaged the left wing, the shuttle right. outside they have those tiles and they are protecting the shuttle from over heated. they could take up to 3000+degree. you know in high altitude right. the air are really hard to breath. and the shuttle was travle at 12000 mile per hours. that cost heat happening. one of the tiles fell off. and the part of the shuttle started to over heated. i think all the air jet can no fly as high as the shuttle. i think there is this one F/A16 or 17 was tryed to communicated with the shuttle. but im not sure. sigh. it just a sad story. they just few minute away from the landing. and they can not make it. damn it .... this is a bad start for year 2003. i hope something good would happening soon.

I add my condolences too.

Feel especially sorry for most of them who were on that shuttle that were on their first mission. Couldn't come back to tell about it.

It's even more depressing to hear the first isreali human to launch into space come back dead :\ sad.

Also to the 7 students in british columbia that died during a school ski trip. All 7 died due to an avalanche. Also to one of the students in my school who had died due to cancer, never knew him but he was my age.
This was the introduction to our new semester - all 3 deaths.
may they all r.i.p.
