Well, this is just more sidestories before they return to the main plot. And even then, if they do what I think they would do, it would be another small sideplot. I guesstimate around episode 13-14 before we get back into main story/action.

I wish I knew where I can read the novel but as far as the story goes, I'm loving it (they are integrating the side stories at the correct times). It's becoming one of my top favorite anime (Full Metal Panic! being my fave series).

Like most translated light novel series, BakaTsuki has it. Not sure about the translation quality because I haven't read it yet, but they're generally pretty okay.

Loving this anime, Kirito and Asuna are the bomb! My favourite scene so far is..... STARBURST STREAM!!!!

This is one of the few animes that I've watched that has made me tear up, the chemistry between Asuna and Kirito is fantastic! It's such a dynamic relationship, its a lot more than just one-dimension with the both of them playing off one another. The latest episode was another tear-jerker, making me wonder how this will all play out.

Quick theory on the whole plot

Since this universe is directly tied to Accel Work maybe the players are experiencing "Acceleration"? What may be 2 years for them could be merely a few hours in real life. SAO is based roughly 30 years before AW (I believe Haruyuki mentioned 30 years). Also at the end of AW we were also told that anyone who loses all of their points in Brain Burst gets their game uninstalled permanently and any memories of the game erased, maybe thats what happens when players in SAO "die"? Once their HP runs out they're kicked out of the game, it uninstalls and they have no recollection of playing the game at all.

Nah, can't be. If it had something to do with acceleration, then why would Klein be worried about being on time for the pizza guy in episode 1? Accelerated time is like 1/1000 normal time if I remember right. Also, the real world had news reports of people's brains getting fried, that's why all the players were moved to hospitals and the like.

Could all be fabricated, you never know. Someone who has enough brains that can invent nervegear AND develop SAO can easily fabricate news stories, plus we haven't had a lick of RL scenes since the first episode. During episode one Klein did say he had to log for the pizza guy, but it was also his first time playing the game and Kirito's first time playing out of the beta, who's to say that the time given to them in-game isn't a fabrication? I dunno really, I think it might be plausible.

Yep, definitely one of my top favorite anime. Like r3d$unz mentioned, the relationship between the characters are fantastic especially with the last episode (made me tear up a bit ).

I started reading up the novels and been hooked to it. Won't be much of a surprise now when I watch but is always nice to see and hear the characters come alive instead of trying to imagine the situations. Thanks SgtXDNX and PandaApex for mentioning where to read the novels (I skipped it before since it had a Wiki layout so never thought it would be in there).

Is it bad that I totally cried after watching episode 14? Like for real, that wasn't cool. Now I kinda want to pick up the novels and stuff. But but but! I don't have the time. Oh woe is me...

Well hey, they're continuing the series...so don't feel too bad! But yeah, it really was a great ending. I mean, it felt kinda...sudden, but that's MMORPGs for you!

Well, two things. One, keep in mind that it's only episode 14 and that's a really weird place to stop. Second, at the end of the episode there's a preview for the next episode.

There was something about a series from last season being extended to 50 episodes...and signs are pointing to SAO being that series. An Anime based on a novel actually covering all the novels? Man, sure is I-wish-it-were-Zero-no-Tsukaima in here.

Don't worry, they still have two whole games to go through.

Didn't they say they were doing two season? Unless this current arc is already season 2. But i think at the end of this series they'll take a break and do the next season later on.

I know how you feel man...I jumped the gun and read most of the novels and now lost all surprise in the anime but I felt just as excited reading so whichever you choose you'll still feel good

I knew it...I knew this would make me cry. I held off on watching the 14th episode for a week so I can watch both 14 and 15 in succession and I'm glad I did.

If I watched episode 14 then waited a week for 15 it would have killed me

I'm glad they're continuing the series though. Have they announced how far along the novels they plan to go for?

A while back there was a hint that one series from last season would be extended to 50 episodes...and all signs point to it being SAO, and that they're actually going to try to cover the entire saga. (I...feel like I've said this before. Deja vu!)

DOUBLE NTR!!! First Kirito gets NTR'd by an evil Koeyasu character, then he comes home and his imouto NTRs his comatose girlfriend! Oh man I can't wait for them to all get online and have awkward NTR moments left and right. N-T-R! N-T-R! Okay no I can't really keep going, I'm not a fan of that genre. Elevens apparently are (though apparently there are also series where NTR fancomics are not tolerated) and having seen Accel World this author definitely is. I'm not sure what happened to him as a kid to make him so obsessed with NTR but...man does it ever show in his works, hahaha. I am, however, waiting for all the fanart of Kirito pulling an End-of-Evangelion-Shinji. That scene with Koeyasu going 'Enjoy your final moments together' was just begging for it.

You mean Alicization (However you spell that). Its less of a game and more of a study on the soul in a video game environment. They managed to create arguably artificial humans through the newest technology, and Kirito is now currently stuck in this world. This technology seems be the link towards the future that is Accel World, due to the fact that in the span of 10 hours (iirc) Kirito experienced around 2 years worth of the world. It is also noted that Kirito is the only true "human" in this world of artificial souls, but all the "npcs" respond very naturally due to their composition.

Can't wait for third season of Sword Art Online, it has the arc I kinda want to see.
