If you're having a lot of trouble with port forwarding, ever try ABC? I find it much easier to use and haven't had a single problem with it. Anyway admins add this program as it's the best program to get your ip's ect http://s28.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2N4W8RD...IY2IZX7SZCPOFWJ It has your Lan, Wan ip's. When forwarding your ports pick 50000 and over. i use 55899 55903 even know i only d/l 1 file at a time. when port forwarding in your router add both your Ip's from your Lan and Wan to make things safe (witch you get from that program i posted) Also enabling DMZ can help somtimes (were it say's Ip put your Wan ip) |

IDW Member Group: Members Posts: 13 Member No.: 6,192 Joined: Mar 17th 2005 Location: Update Profile | I always have the yellow light at the top right corner of the BitTornado, & my downloads are quite slow with download speeds such as 1-10kb/s. Can anyone help mi to allow the speeds to be faster. The upload speeds are quite fast though with speeds such as 20kb/s. I use an Aztech ADSL USB Modem with a 512kbps ADSL connection. I have allowed the windows xp and norton personal firewall to allow bittornado but the speeds still remain the same & it always shows a yellow light. Pls help. Thanks. |

IDW Special Member Group: Members Posts: 254 Member No.: 1,116 Joined: Dec 31st 2003 Location: Austin, TX | I dl that BitComet & it seems to work well. The interface is very nice & easy. Was able to change listening port, but couldnt find port ranges used for that client. I opened up 1024-5000 (both tcp/udp) on my router & run no firewalls on XP sp2. *edit* just went through BitComet site & found XP sp2 patch to open Max TCP/IP connects... that helped alot. *edit* Limited my Upload speed so my dl would be faster, which it did jump up a bit. anyone know any other tricks to get faster dl speed? as in extend the range higher? up to 55000? In Bit Comet, I see where u can chg the listening port to anything you want, but not a whole range of ports that it uses. I can try a higher listening port. I dont wanna go too high, because my Soulseek, XBConnect & other programs are getting in the way of my port ranges. they are taking ports too.... | ||
