I hope it has a soundtrack as epic as the one they made for GT3. GT4's soundtrack was pretty fail, IMO. If GT4 had GT3's soundtrack, it would have been the most awesome GT game ever. I missed being able to do doughnuts and the easy mode drifting that was possible in GT3. The game soundtrack is almost as important as the gameplay itself, for me at least it is.

Just played sony's most recent GT5 build at CES, and there is still no damage (at least for the cars i drove). everything else is fine, and plays very nice on the logitech DFGT wheel. visuals were still kind of drab and dull; just like GT4, but in high def.

Hopefully this means the player can actually set the weather conditions and time of day on the track. That ability would make things interesting.

why dont we already have full control of weather , time of day, and other factors of the sort already?

these are all faults that every sim racing game has failed to include. yes even the mighty forza decided to skimp on it.

PGR has controlable weather.

edit: even tho its not a sim, i cant think of any other game that includes it regardless.

Except at this rate, it will probably end up as a launch title for the PS3's successor. rolleyes.gif

QUOTE
Why GT5 is taking so long:

Christmas time at PD. The game is content complete! Now, just a few months of polishing here, optimising there, and GT5 is good to go. PD are having a little office party to celebrate, there's some champagne, there're nibbles, there's a great vibe. Everyone is happy.

Kaz enters the office. He has taken to wearing a driver's helmet at all times now. People stifle their laughter.

Kaz:"Good job everyone! Cheers!"
All:"Cheers!"
Kaz:"Well, as you'll no doubt have heard, I've just got back from my endurance race, it's good news all round!"
Everyone lifts their glasses and cheers.
Kaz:"To celebrate, I'm going to try out the Honda I've just raced in GT5!"
Nervous glances all round.
PD coder 1:"Come now, Yamauchi-san, why not wind down, have a drink-"
Kaz takes to the controls.

10 minutes later

Kaz:"No. No, no, no! There's something off, it just doesn't feel right. Doesn't feel real!"
PD coder 1:"But Yamauchi-san, the game is due for release, we've done all the content now, it's too late to-"
Kaz:"Do you see this helmet I am wearing?"
PD coder 1:(looks down)"Yes, Yamauchi-san. I see the helmet."
Kaz:"Do you know where I got this helmet?"
PD coder 1:(still looking down)"You got it at the endurance race, Yamauchi-san."
Kaz:"At the endurance race. That's right. Where I raced. In a real car. At a real race. Because I, unlike you, am a real racing driver, you see."
PD coder 1:(looks back up)"But please, Yamauchi-san, it's just a simulation, it will never feel completely real-"
Kaz points to his helmet. PD coder 1 looks back down.
Kaz:"It is not quite right. Do it again. All of it, again."

Just came across this earlier today:

http://www.connectedconsoles.com/ps3-Yamau...Competitors.cfm

I was surprised that the PD head would even comment on other games... Glad to see he's not taking comments about Forza sitting down lol...

Wow. I mean, I always pinned him as an arrogant ass anyway, but wow.

Maybe if he didn't take six and a half years to release a game, other devs wouldn't have to step in and release LOTS of viable, fun, and well made alternatives... rolleyes.gif

There seem to be quite a few of those this generation it seems... Games that are taking too long to come out (Alan Wake, Too Human, GT5). I just found it refreshing that he'd comment on it at all...

I just think his concited views are a bit arrogant for me. He blasts other devs and their games for being unreal, yet no GT game ever has implimented damage; not even in the most recent build I played at CES in January.

As far as games taking too long, Too Human is a horrible example as that game was pure garbage.

Iduno, I mean I'm as big of a GT fan as you can be, but I get so sick of hearing how he sees his games as the second coming of christ. He's worse than Steve Jobs in the self-absorbed nature. Maybe his head is too far up his ass to realize that other people are off enjoying other racing games because he's taking his sweet f**king time releasing GT.

True, but it doesn't change how long it was in development... Also I believe Final Fantasy XIII was in development for quite a long period of time as well...

damage does not and will not ever make this game for me. im int he minority, but when not even forza can get the feel of an e-brake right, something is wrong.

need to increase the AI off the driver in your car...or something.

day 1 buy for me. and im still playing GT psp so i will transfer alot of cars over.
